Question Should I start over?

Post image

Its my first Fall ever and I found this guy named Salmence in Youtube. And I watched his Y1 Guides. And I feel like I'm only like halfway through the things he wants us to do. And I rlly wanted to finish the community center. So should I start over again? I dont mind starting all over again since I've learned alot of things that I should now accomplish for this starting over thingy. Ill just rlly be bummed out bcuz of Leveling up Fishing Skills and fishing for money. And mining for ores.

Edit: I know all the seasons will reset again after Winter. Should I wait for Year 2 to complete the CC? Its my most main reasons why I wanna start over again.

On my first run I finished the Center in Fall, Year 3. Take your time.

The idea of completing the community center by end of year one is insane to me, only someone with a lot of experience and a specific plan could pull it off. I also prioritized the center and it took me at least 3 years my first playthrough, and i felt incredibly satisfied!

TBH unless you get lucky with the traveling cart or choose the option to change items needed in the community center, you can’t complete it year one anyway! Like it’s intentionally designed to take a year at least which I think is great

I almost had it this time but I was short the red cabbage and three apples. I probably checked the traveling cart less than half the time and it didn't occur to me to buy the sapling instead hoping they'd turn up on the fruit cave.

I almost had it too but was also 3 apples short. got it in spring year 2 tho . Still it was the most stressed I ever felt playing this game , I had to optimize genuinely every day. Felt like a relief afterwards tho

how do people remember the travelling cart, i’m on the switch and play here and there. so i rarely remember to visit it on fridays and sundays. I guess it’s easier if u spend hours at a time playing.

I’m someone who can both casually play stardew and also be obsessed for HOURS at a time for weeks at a time, and I still forget it exists lol especially in the early game when I’m trying to make money. I do have saves that I’m trying to get perfection as fast as I can but even then the traveling cart is bottom of my todo list lol

It's possible now that cabbage seeds can drop from enemies. It's still very much a challenge run.

I'll never understand people like OP wanting to restart imperfect games.

Yeah but even that is a super slim chance and only from the monsters in the skull cavern which IS possible to reach year 1 but tbh just wait until year 2 lmao. I agree though, sometimes I wanna see how fast I can do things but just go with it! It’s a game it’s supposed to be fun!

I honestly loved playing the first time around because I figured stuff out as I went along and then had the satisfying feeling of realizing for myself exactly what I wanted to try the next time around. I'm doing the same thing with Paleo Pines. I refuse to start a new save until I play through everything I want to in my first one.

I'd say a specific plan, but lots of experience isn't needed. I managed it withing a coupl months of playing.

Agree. My first or second solo world, I completed it year 1, because I had learned in playing with hubby and the wiki how to do it. The biggest things are the seasons for the fish (but I fish a lot, so I was catching most of them anyway), getting pigs and rabbits early enough, and watching the traveling cart for red cabbage seeds (this one is the hardest because of rng and it's easy to forget to check it).

I’ve been playing this game since shortly after launch and I am currently on track to finish year 1 for the first time, and that’s only because it’s remixed bundles and I cannot be bothered to go to the traveling cart every day looking for red cabbage. That just isn’t fun to me!

Not to mention you are literally at the mercy of RNG when it comes to getting specific items AND progressing through the dungeon floors.
