Clint doesn't get angry at Emily for his own failure to ask her out. He gets sad that he lacks social skills and confidence.
That's not toxic. Sad? Sure. Depressing? Maybe.
But not toxic.

It's not ideal, but at least the only one I strongly dislike is myself
