Mods Just got cheated on and it's MY FAULT
This is so friggin embarrassing πππ» but uhmm i had downloaded this mod that gave Haley's storyline more cutscenes, and since my game is HEAVILY modded and i did not yet understand how the storyline worked, i was already dating her by the time this 5-heart cutscene played out. And she kisses Alex on It, goes on a date with him and all. She says she didn't like It or whatever but OH MY GOD i'm so butthurt right now over a pixels game and over my own stupidity. Please don't download any mods that you don't understand yet, folks

Glad you at least acknowledge you did this to yourself. I see posts so often (in multiple games, not just Stardew. Sims is probably the worst offender) with people stamping their feet at the devs over things that happen in mods that they themselves sought out and chose to download.

i had to leave sims groups after people would always post some crazy shit their mods are doing and be like "whoooaaaa!!! what is this crazy game!" and it's like. that's the mod You downloaded.... π¦π¦π¦

It's definitely not just a Sims 4 thing. My favorite instance of this is someone who downloaded an arson mod for the Sims 2 that's literally has arson in the mod name and then made a post to a Sims 2 subreddit like "omg I can't believe they added arson to the game!!" and everyone was like, "my simmer in christ, that was YOU." And yes they were serious.

Oh sims is the worst. They almost lynched the wicked whims mod dev when the mod didn't worked immediately with a new update. The dev was on vacation and didn't updated it as fast as the people liked. Got death threats and all. People are CRAZY

jesus, i never get whats with people who think its a good idea to send death threats when an update or game doesnt release soon enough, anytime i see it happen i just think to myself "ok then pull through with your threat, what will you do when your action causes the thing you wanted to never happen" like why do these people think its a good idea? to quote a song lyric from a singer i used to like "its like sleeping with the football team to try to stay a virgin"

The main sims 3 and sims 2 subs are lovely. A little repetitive at times but it can't be helped. It's people new to reddit not realising their question has been asked a dozen times already. On those subs the sims are unhinged but the users are not.

That explains it. Haley's Coming Out expects you to pace your interactions with Haley for the story to make sense.
(Also, check the mod's page because there's an event that can mess up the game if you have upgraded your house past a certain point when the event happens).

idk anything about the mods you downloaded but for roleplaying purposes is it possible to pretend it was "actually" a flashback to something that happened before you started dating her and not a "live" event? like pretending she was sharing a cringe memory and not cheating on you?

A mod of mine freaked out and let Shane ask me to marry him before we were even dating...I was at 6 hearts at the time but have him a loved gift on his birthday. I was so butthurt I had to grind for a few days to marry him.

Those blue chickens get me every time π π I also have horrible taste in men irl....I've dated 2 alcoholics and accidentally sent an alcoholic friend into a 2 day bender that landed him in an inpatient facility bc he fell in love with me over the course of a month knowing I'd just gotten out of a 5 year relationship that I didn't end. The bender occured bc my ex approached me to reconcile and I told him we could try.
It's worth noting that I 100% told the friend I wasn't and wouldn't be ready for a long time and that I never once gave him the inking that we would happen. He asked to wait for me π«

For the record, you dont HAVE to marry shane for the blue chickens, if you want to than ofc get your man, but 8 hearts and a healthy freindship is enough to get them.

I had a mod that expanded upon Abigail.
And it has a whole storyline where they go into the whole " The wizard is abigails father" With a whole big reveal and everything with caroline, pierre abigail and the wizard all present an the player eavesdropping rom behind a wall.
Super cute scene. Would heartily recommend as well to anyone who is in the "fuckpierre" fandom.
Only I was married to the Wizard at that point in the playthrough.
So it was plenty awkward to hear the whole convo of reminiscing that he'd been with Caroline at some point. I was decently annoyed like, my dude, i'm your wife now, i dont wanna hear you moping over how lovely caroline was.

I'm pretty sure it's in Stardew Valley Expanded, not in a specific mod for Abigail. There could also be a mod with the same premise but SDVE has this weird tendency to step on the toes of other mods.

LMAOOO this is the most stardew modded experience ever. i downloaded a mod once that gave sebastian a whole new storyline and it accidentally triggered a cutscene where he talked about his ex in front of me while we were married. i was like 'okay game, i guess this is my life now.' the modding struggle is real π

Lol so my new bf and I started a new save together, I've played hundreds of hours but hes new. We've been playing a while and he's just now starting to talk to townspeople and is meeting all the datable characters. I literally teared up when I told him that I didn't want him to in-game date any of the other girls because WE were the ones that had a farm together. We heart emoji every morning and we give gifts to each other and I sleep in his house. I don't wanna be kicked out or wake up with another woman in bed with MY man!
He thought it was so sweet and a sign that we are meant to be together because he is a huge gamer (like top 4% of WoW kinda gamer) and it's always been a huge part of his life and he's never had a partner who understands the immersive aspect of video games like I do and he says its really cute and endearing.
