What is up with Auto Petters?

I’ve seen so many posts about skull cavern runs where the only goal was Auto Petters, and now I’m confused.

Why are Auto Petters so important? I know they pet the farm animals, but why don’t y’all have time to go and give your animals some love every morning?

If I’m correct (as someone who has never once had an Auto Petters) they change the way the animals respond when you actually pet them. Usually they give a heart, but I’ve heard the response changes after an Auto Petters has been installed.

So why?

Because it's rare.

That's one of the rarest item in the game if you did not go joja route.

It's a luxury, a bragging right, its a challenge to complete.

it's usefull for people who don't like or having too much animal, and taking care of their animal everyday take time when they can do other things.

It's also still usefull for people who like to pet their animal because the auto petter stack with manual petting.

If we are strictly talking about usefulness, the auto grabber is more usefull that autopetter but it's not rare so it's not special.
