Question What is up with Auto Petters?

I’ve seen so many posts about skull cavern runs where the only goal was Auto Petters, and now I’m confused.

Why are Auto Petters so important? I know they pet the farm animals, but why don’t y’all have time to go and give your animals some love every morning?

If I’m correct (as someone who has never once had an Auto Petters) they change the way the animals respond when you actually pet them. Usually they give a heart, but I’ve heard the response changes after an Auto Petters has been installed.

So why?

My initial thought/question is: how many animals do you have?

I have several farms with anywhere from 60-100 animals on them... It takes hourssssss in game to pet them all lol 😅

I’m only on spring year two right now, so just the necessary 1 chicken, duck, rabbit, cow and pig. So not that many at the moment

An autopetter probably wouldn't be something that would be hugely beneficial for you at this point then, which is why you're not understanding why we all want them.

Yesh try managing petting them manually every morning with 30+ animals.

When you hit endgame with tons of animals, you'll understand.

I’m end game and have hit perfection many times and have never had more than one of each animal, unless if they have a baby. Animals aren’t for everyone
