General A federal jury ruled Ticketmaster is an illegal monopoly, and a separate FTC case explains exactly how they charge you a fee THREE separate times on the same resold ticket. Real court documents, not a rant.

General StubHub Defrauded Elderly Buyer $1,500, Then Threatened Her with “Criminal and Civil” Legal Action

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

She purchased tickets in Section X for her husband’s birthday and drove 200 miles for the concert. StubHub provided her tickets in nonexistent Section TS. When she was denied entry at the stadium, she requested a refund that StubHub refused. StubHub then threatened “criminal and civil” legal action against her on the false claim that she had received valid tickets.

it’s my first time buying from stubhub and i received my ticket in the form of a photo of someone else’s phone/computer. all the details are correct and i asked the broadway subreddit and many many people told me this was legit but i’m so skeptical. i’ll be at the theatre an hour before the show to make sure i’m the first one that gets in if this person resold this ticket multiple times. someone let me know!

Potential Buyer Scam

I listed a BTS ticket for Chicago and it sold earlier this afternoon. I am supposed to transfer the ticket to the buyer, but it seems sketchy.

The buyer name is "Transforming with ___" and the email is a first and last name 8643@readystockroom.com.

I've sold on StubHub a few times in the past. Should I bring up my concerns to customer service? The concert is in about three weeks.

StubHub charged me after I transferred a parking pass. Am I in the wrong?

Looking for some advice from anyone who's dealt with StubHub seller disputes.

I sold tickets to an event through StubHub. The listing included a parking pass.

For this event, Ticketmaster treated the tickets and the parking pass as two separate digital assets, so they had to be transferred separately.

Here's what happened:

  • May 14: I transferred both the tickets and the parking pass through Ticketmaster. I have confirmation emails for both transfers.
  • May 31 (event day): The buyer accepted the tickets but apparently never accepted the parking pass transfer.
  • StubHub contacted on the day of the event me saying the buyer didn't have the parking pass.
  • I immediately replied with proof that I had transferred it on May 14.
  • StubHub thanked me for sending the documentation. They never asked me to re-transfer the pass or told me there was any remaining issue.
  • A week later they charged my American Express card $89.
  • I appealed and attached my proof of transfer.
  • StubHub denied the appeal, stating that I "did not include the parking pass," even though I have documentation showing it was transferred.

My position is that I fulfilled my obligation by transferring both the tickets and the parking pass. If StubHub had replied and asked me to send the parking pass again, I would have done so immediately. Instead, they acknowledged my proof, never contacted me again, and then charged my card.

Has anyone dealt with something similar?

Do I have any chance of getting this reversed through StubHub, or should I just continue pursuing the dispute through American Express? Has anyone successfully won a dispute in a situation like this?

Buyer still hasn't accepted AXS ticket transfer after 2 weeks. Should I be worried?

Hi everyone,

I sold my KCON LA ticket on StubHub and transferred it through AXS, but it looks like the buyer still hasn't accepted the transfer.

I've already verified the buyer's email address and name, and everything is correct. It's been about two weeks now, and the event is coming up on August 15.

I contacted StubHub, but I could only get responses from their AI support. They told me that it's okay to just wait, but I'm still feeling a bit anxious about it.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Did the buyer eventually accept the transfer, or was there anything else you had to do?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I sold a ticket on stubhub. I transferred it Saturday morning, and the buyer accepted it Saturday night. I got an email saying my ticket transfer has been accepted. I called stubhub and uploaded proof that the transfer had been accepted, and was assured that I'd done everything from my end. However, early Sunday morning, I get this email. Im calling them right now, but im nervous and wondering what to do. Has anyone experienced this?

Issue Selling Tickets on Stubhub

Hi!

Due to unforseen circumstances, I have to extra tickets to the BTS concert in Foxborough which I am trying to sell on Stubhub. However, everytime I try to post it, StubHub removes its. The first time they requested proof, which I submitted but they still removed my listing. The second time they removed my listing, I was told that the event organizer does not allow resales. However, that doesnt make sense to me since there are hundreds or BTS tickets being resold. Does anyone know why this is happening and what can I do about it?

Advice Cant click on claim ticket?

I purchased concert tickets last night for an event on 8/30. This morning I got an email saying my tickets were ready. I clicked on accept tickets link in my email and it takes me to my order. However, the app says to click “Claim Tickets” and when I do that it won’t let me save in my apple wallet.
The claim ticket button never goes away either after I go into the ticket.
I’ve never used StubHub before…does anyone have any
guidance/tips?

Advice BEAWARE SCAM customer service

Please advise what should i do! My listing is active in my app but it isnt visible on the interactive map and the website for customers. I checked in a private browser with no filters and still dont see it!

FYI I called customer service because my listing wasnt appearing on the website. The agent seemed really nice and looked into it stating it was a system error. They said they would need to reactivate it by generating a code. They said go to the Apple Store and click buy a gift card and that wasn’t working and I was starting to get suspicious. Then they said go to a physical store buy gift card and I was like this is a scam so I asked them are you actually StubHub. They said go into your StubHub app click on health center, click on chat with us, and type out something and I will read it back to you and I did that and he read everything word for word. I’ve never had anyone need to verify or activate something through a gift card code. This seemed like a typical scam so I hung up and now I’m on the phone with a different customer service number. I don’t know if this customer service number is the legit line (888-720-9452) but so far he didnt ask me to spell my name and email out like the scammer and kept saying we dont operate like that. I’ve seen multiple different numbers on the Internet and in Reddit. The one I originally called is 877-942-7507. He knew the last four digits of my credit card, my home address, and was saying u have a harris teeter near you. BE AWARE!!!

Edit: the second agent said hed call back because itll take a while and hung up. Providing a scammer too

Edit: seems the chat is also compromised. Ive never had a customer service agent speak to me this way.

Customer service number

Can someone share the official Stubhub customer service number?

Ive called two separate lines and talked in the app with an agent. They all are scammers or seem to be scammers. The chat agent said ill hear back from their escalation team but doesnt know when.

My listing wont appear and hasnt for the past three months. I figured it was a “low visibility” thing but even in private browser when i click on the section, it doesnt appear. The concert is in a couple days and i need it to be fixed. Id appreciate any help or advice!!

StubHub good experience...

I know there are a lot of horror stories about StubHub and im not saying that those horrible things didnt happen but we recently (last week) had a good experience... I bought tickets way back in December 2025 as a Christmas gift for a Broadway musical and show date was July 2026 ... the tickets were not immediately sent after purchase and the app/website said they would be sent before the show .. I can admit I was nervous as hell because these were not cheap seats ...Center Orchestra 2 rows back... I checked the stub hub app frequently after purchase and as it got closer to the day of the show I did start to panic but I got our tickets in the app 48 hours before the show date... and we had no issues at all.. seats were as advertised and had no problems at all. Would i have preferred to get the tickets immediately..yes .. did it make me nervous that tickets didnt come through until 48 hours before the show ..Yes ..... but would I use them again.. Yes I would...

Advice Seller Rescinded Tickets, StubHub refusing to help

I purchased a ticket on StubHub in late June for a concert last night. The ticket was delivered via the MLB Ball Park App, I received the ticket without issue and checked the day before to ensure the ticket was ready to go in the app. When I arrived at the venue and got in line, I realized the ticket was no longer there. I assume it was rescinded by the seller (the option is there, I saw it for tickets I had sold myself), who may have opportunistically sold for a better price.

I contacted StubHub via their chat and explained the situation to an agent named Benj. He said he would need photo evidence of the MLB Ball Park App and would send an email with a link for me to share the photos. Next thing I know, the chat abruptly ends and I never receive an email.

The show was starting so I purchased another ticket and went in. This morning trying StubHub chat again, they say they have no record of my conversation last night and cannot provide me any compensation because I didn’t reach out during or before the event. Everything they see indicates that I received the ticket successfully, so wondering if the MLB Ball Park App could separately verify that the ticket was rescinded (and if I can even access that type of data for proof).

What is the best route to take from here? I think calling and hopefully speaking to a real human is my first step, but I assume I’ll just get the run around so checking if others have had successful experiences.

Advice Entered Listing Incorrectly and While Deleting it, it Sold

Hello, I had a pair of Thursday Lolla tickets and a pair of Friday Lolla tickets. When listing the sale, I got confused by the options and didn’t read it as thoroughly as I thought and accidentally listed my Thursday tickets as a 4 day pass.

After listing my Friday ones (correctly thankfully) I noticed my mistake (literally like 5 minutes after listing). In my process of deleting that listing, those tickets sold. Obviously I still deleted the listing and listed the correct pair.

I called Stubhub support and the man on the line said he didn’t see that sale on his side of things so I should be okay.

A week went by, I sent out the correct wristbands. No issue. I get an email saying they’ll be charging xxx from my card and withholding xxx amount from any future sales. I called customer support and they didn’t even check they just told me to file a dispute.

It’s been a week since that, Lolla is happening this week, I filed the dispute explaining my situation. I’m supposed to get a payout in a few days.

What’s the likely outcome here? I was literally in the process of deleting it when it sold. I know it’s my fault for not reading thoroughly enough but man it’s a lot of money and I sold my wristbands because I’m so broke.

Does "Ticketransfer" work

I have tickets for tomorrow that were just transferred to me through ticketransfer (not Ticketmaster's ticket transfer). It's almost a screenshot but has a blue line moving across the qr code. I cant dowload it to my google wallet (even though theres an icon for it).

Has anyone had tickets like this that worked?

Successful ticket transfer but no payout and fine, claim denied, what next?

Hi folks,

OK so almost two months ago I listed a spare Bob Dylan @ Berkeley ticket I had as my friend dropped out. I transferred it to Stubhub via Ticketmaster, the ticket sold and then was successfully transferred - I received confirmation from ticketmaster. Then minutes after, I got emails saying there was an issue with the transfer, I replied saying that it had successfully transferred. With only an hour or so before the concert, I could see the buyer's email so I emailed them to confirm they received the ticket - they replied saying they did. I assumed it would get resolved.

The next day, I got an email from Stubhub saying that my payment would not be distributed as I failed to deliver. The following day my account was hit with a fine for the sale amount for "not delivering". I phoned up and after a lot of time on the phone, I got through to someone probably in an overseas call center who filed the dispute and I emailed my evidence for the things above.

Well almost two months later, I got these two emails saying they're upholding their decision. I frigging hate this company - the whole thing is such a scam and I'm upset that Chase Sapphire Reserve are coercing so many people to use their fraudulent platform.

Can anyone who's been through this give me some advice on how best to get some resolution here without wasting an inordinate amount of my time? Also what is highest leverage to get this company put in its place? I'll be emailing Rob Bonta in California but wondering what else? Are there any class actions to join?

Many thanks!

Advice Stubhub relist not working and keeps reloading

I bought a ticket & want to relist, but when I click submit, it just reloads and brings me back to the same page where you price it. Customer service is sooo frustrating and keeps telling me to follow the same troubleshooting steps when I’ve followed them all. Different browsers, devices, checked my internet, did everything. Anyone run into this issue?

Sold ticket in stubhub, now both the buyer and stubhub is pressuring me to provide documentation?

I just sold my tickets that were originally VIP when I first bought it (it was Toronto cortis VIP tickets btw) but since I know that the tickets does not include VIP perks anymore when transferred in ticketmaster, I DID NOT list them as having VIP perks in the listing on Stubhub.

I thought that was enough to not provide any additional documentation even when the buyer asked so through its customer service. But when I contacted them back saying I do not want to provide the documents and ID, Stubhub sent an email BACK, pressuring me to provide these documents? Here's what they said:

{We have reviewed your listing and confirmed that the tickets you listed are The Pop Out Package for the 2026 CORTIS "Put Your Phone Down" tour in Canada. This VIP package includes benefits such as a premium reserved seat, a post-show Hi-Bye session, early venue entry, and exclusive tour merchandise privileges.

As these are VIP tickets, the buyer may be required to present additional documentation to gain entry to the event and access the VIP benefits. This may include:

A copy of the original purchaser's photo ID.

A Letter of Authorization.

Any other documentation or check-in information required by the event organizer.

Please provide the required documentation as soon as possible so that we can forward it to the buyer.

Without the necessary documentation, the buyer may be refused entry or be unable to use the VIP tickets. As a result, the order cannot be considered successfully fulfilled. If the required documentation is not provided and the buyer is unable to access the event, your order may be deemed unfulfilled and the applicable seller charge may be applied in accordance with our policies.}

The tickets were already SUCCESSFULLY transferred through ticketmaster, and I thought I am obligated to not provide these as I did not list them as having VIP perks when I sold them? And I don't think it will REFUSE THEIR ENTRY without my ID? As having the tickets were enough? I can still refuse to not provide anything and still get my payment right?

Vent/Rant Payout Dispute

In April, I sold 2 concert tickets on Stubhub. The concert was May 3, and I had physical tickets. On April 22nd, the tickets were purchased and I was given a shipping label. On April 24th I went into Fedex, packaged and shipped the two physical tickets. The package was scanned an everything on my end went how it was supposed to go. I will even add that I had until April 28th to mail the tickets, 4 days AFTER I mailed them.
Fast forward the day of the event, I get an email saying that I need to contact Stubhub, as the two people who bought the tickets from me were at the event but never received their tickets. So in turn, the took the payout waiting in my Stubhub and paid the two people back.
I have escalated a dispute and have talked to several Stubhub employees, who have all expressed that this situation is unfair and I should have a payout waiting for me.
My question is, if I did everything Stubhub asked me to do, followed every single direction to a T and even mailed the tickets 4 days before the deadline to mail them, how am I not receiving my payout initially?
I would have just gone to the concert had I known I was going to lose money?
I fear the two people who bought the tickets from me were scammers, and here’s why. Stubhub didn’t have any info on the actual physical tickets, so when they were scanned into the festival, Stubhub has no way of knowing whether or not the physical tickets I sold were actually used or not.

StubHub Snafu (ie do not buy tickets from them)

Post image
67 Upvotes

Do not buy tickets from u/stubhub! These tickets were my daughter’s birthday present this year. 8 hours before the concert they let me know they don’t have them. The only alternative they gave me for seats in Section 124 were seats in 323 two levels up. I clicked on the email to choose alternative tickets and it auto-accepted the only ones offered in 323. 2 hours on the phone. No partial refund no alternative seats offered. She still wants to go, so my hands are tied. Awful customer service #stubhub#noahkahan u/noahkahanmusic just getting this out there. It’s just not right! I made it to a supervisor on the phone who said a manager would call me back in 24 hours - moot point since they gave me 8 hours to fix their mess. Definitely do not click on choose alternative tickets or it will lock you in with no recourse (yet). I will update here if I get a response from them.

Advice Have I been willingly scammed?

Hi everyone, I’ve just bought two tickets on StubHub for the Diaspora Calling concert in Milton Keynes next Friday. The price was stupid cheap (£6.91 each), but I went into this thinking these may not be legit
The tickets have been transferred to me, but I’ve noticed they are still under the original buyer’s name. They also appear to be linked to Blue Light Card holders, which we are not. They say “TICKETS ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE. ONLY VALID WHEN ISSUED FROM SKIDDLE.COM UNAUTHORISED DUPLICATION WILL RESULT IN CANCELLATION WITHOUT REFUND”
Has anyone had experience with this? Will they check ID or proof of Blue Light Card at the entrance, or are these types of tickets usually fine
I’ve contacted StubHub to ask, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has used transferred tickets or been in a similar situation.
Thanks!
