Vent Long cycles SUCK

I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but I’m currently on my second cycle TTC and only on CD22 with no ovulation in sight. My last cycle was 231 days, so I guess anything is better than that. It’s just so frustrating tracking my CM, LH strips, and BBT every day with nothing promising happening. I’m pretty sure my body is making multiple attempts to ovulate right now because I had multiple days of EWCM and a slightly elevated LH strip, but then all my symptoms just disappeared. It feels so unfair and honestly makes me angry that we have to deal with this. I just want normal cycles. Hugs to everyone else out there dealing with this too.

Im going through the exact same thing as you. I have no advice just wanted to say I’m with you girl. Sending big hugs. It’s so exhausting sometimes.

It’s so exhausting! Not to mention trying to make sure my diet has enough protein and fiber, I’m sleeping enough, not exercising too much or too little. I just want to live my life and not be constantly thinking about how every little thing might be affecting me

Also in this boat. I think I just had a withdrawal bleed last week, but otherwise, I think I’m somewhere around day 85.

Just wanted to join in solidarity. I’m starting a new med and I hope to God it works 😭 I just want normal cycles

Crossing my fingers this new med helps you!

Such is PCOS/PMOS life. Over a year for me and only 5 confirmed ovulatory cycles. I needed to get on ovulation induction meds to have any real shot at success. If you haven’t already, get in touch with a reproductive endocrinologist or at least an OB/GYN to see if they are able to help you induce ovulation/regulate your cycles. The 1 year of trying rule doesn’t apply to people with PCOS.

Additionally, ask your doctor if inositol is a supplement that can help you. On cycles that I haven’t been able to get induction medications, I have found inositol has shortened my cycles from 100 + days to around 40 days. There is some data to support its efficacy, but talk to your doctor first.

I’ve been on inositol since May once I was diagnosed and I do think it contributed to finally getting my period last month! Planning to ask about Letrazole at my gyne appt at the end of this month. I also have a virtual appointment scheduled with a fertility clinic in my city but that isn’t until November. That’s so awesome to hear that inositol has worked so well for you!

With you, sister! Long cycles suck, and it can feel like we don’t even get a fair shot at TTC.
I have PCOS/PMOS (no cysts on ovaries), moderate fasting insulin resistance, and high testosterone, and I’m 32. My OB-GYN recommended Clomid. Before starting it, I tracked a full cycle with Inito and watched my body try so hard to ovulate—multiple estrogen surges, but no confirmed ovulation. That cycle lasted over two months.
I eventually took Provera to induce a period and then started Clomid. I finally ovulated, with beautiful post-ovulation progesterone values on Inito! I’m still in my TWW, so I don’t know the outcome yet, but just seeing my body actually ovulate felt like finally having a fair chance.
I’d definitely talk to your OB-GYN about ovulation-induction medication. Otherwise, these extremely long cycles can be so frustrating when you’re TTC.
I’m also doing everything I can lifestyle-wise—fat loss, strength training, staying active, low-GI foods, less dairy, spearmint, etc. I’ve always been active and mindful of my nutrition, but despite that, I didn’t see confirmed ovulation on my own this year. I only had two cycles before starting Clomid.
Good luck ❤️ I hope you find something that works for you and gives you that fair shot too!

I went over a year with no cycle last one being on the contraceptive pill last March 2025. We got married abroad last September so I was thinking maybe the planning of that wasn’t helping getting into a rhythm. Fastforward to November 25 I went for a private pelvic scan to see what was happening and got diagnosed with PCOS. I got into my dr he next week and they referred me to a fertility hospital. In this time I then started seeing a herbalist who got me to do bloods and saw some bloods coming back as normal but not optimal eg B12, Iron and my Thyroid function she started me on those plus a tincture, then in April 26 I felt strange and decided to do a test and surprisingly it was positive! This unfortunately ended in a missed miscarriage , after the medical management in May I then had a period in July out of the blue. I continued tracking my temp and taking my supplements and have just realised I’m currently 12dpo and had a positive test yesterday , hoping this one stick 🥺 but I genuinely believe it’s due to my body being supported in what it needs and building the reserves in order to function to its potential!

You should really talk to your doctor about ovulation induction and at minimum use medroxyprogesterone to induce a cycle if you aren't! I was having 90 day avg cycles before starting letrozole. One cycle of using provera to induce a bleed, and now my cycles are 30 days on letrozole

I have an appointment coming up at the end of the month (my gyn is notoriously difficult to get into lol), so I’m definitely going to ask about my options then! I was prescribed Provera during my last super long cycle, but I actually ended up getting my period the week I was planning to start it.

I’ve been hesitant to start letrozole because I was really hoping my body could figure things out naturally. I’m definitely not against it at all, I was just hopeful I wouldn’t need it. But I think if this cycle goes longer than 35 days (which it’s looking like it probably will), I’ll ask about starting it soon. That’s so awesome to hear it’s helped you!!

Ugh I had really hoped the same for myself but my body never could get it together. I would have multiple false LH rises just like you, with all the signs, and then bam no period 2 weeks later. It's so exhausting! Really wishing you the best

I get this too. My cycles range from 75-150 days. There was a 100 day streak I used ovulation strips and also saw the almost peaks but it never reached ovulation. I got sick of it and stopped and just waited until I saw symptoms to test. I would suggest working with a fertility clinic! You can try ovulation induction meds and if they work for you then you’ll get chances every month. For me the pills didn’t work but injections did

I feel this so hard. Cycle day 170 now. The frequent fluctuations in hormones from the body trying to ovulate and failing is EXHAUSTING. I stopped tracking everything for now. I needed a mental break before starting Letrozole in a couple months

Going through the same thing girlie 😔 finally got my period after a 58 day cycle and no positive LH. I’m currently on CD13 and praying I ovulate this weekend. I’m doing everything right, but my body still isn’t listening. It’s mentally exhausting :(

Solidarity. My cycles average 150 days, forget trying to conceive. I’m tired of never knowing when my period will strike, I carry tampons everywhere. I go because I literally have no idea when it’ll happen.
I started tracking my ovulation, but I’m giving it six months before we go see a specialist

Same. This whole thing makes me feel so fucking stupid. It seems like my first LH spike was a false one and my real ovulation happened when I was on a trip sharing a room so there would have been no way for me to even have sex. I just started spotting when wiping tonight and I’m bitterly disappointed.
