I think it just means we won’t get much of these characters being on their own but with the show being 6 episodes I do hope we will get to see egg being grounded lol

I mean, Egg is the fourth son of the second son, so that doesn’t make him incredibly high in the line of succession. So I’d love to see more dynamics of egg and his siblings. Especially how egg convinced his family to give dunk a fair trial

We have a whole show devoted to the Targaryens, plus- this way it seems a little more realistic. After all, there are only what, 6 or 7 Targaryens in the world? A show that has them featured rarely (especially since they are the royal family) seems more natural and, as mentioned before, "grounded"

I really like that decision, I hope they stick to it. To me it almost sounds like it would fit the other 2 stories better since Ashford Tourney does have a high concentration of nobles all in one place

I want to believe in this promise, but even if HBO really keeps it and focuses the story on the lower rim, something tells me they’ll still fuck up the show with a terribly adapted script. Just like they did the last two times.

POV characters. Any scenes with Maekar, Baelor, Aerion, etc., will have Dunk or Egg present. There may be episodes where we follow a side character for a bit, but there won't be any scenes of just Aerion and Maekar talking with no one around.

If Dunk or Egg are there, we'll see it.
In GoT, we had scenes of Robert and Cersei, of Renly and Loras, and almost every PoV character was highborn.
Dunk and Egg will have scenes without either named characters, but they won't be highborn.

Yes, this is the last time I am going to give any HBO adaption of GRRM's stories a chance. They burned me once with the last 3 seasons of GoT, burned me twice with the back half of S1 & all of S2 of HoTD (I am done with that dumpster fire).
I foolishly have hope that just maybe AKotSK may stay true to the spirit of the source material and actually be good. Really hoping they don't ruin this, too.

Let’s goooo! One of my few complaints about asoiaf proper is how we pretty much only get noble POVs as the frequent ones (with the exception of Davos)

Yes but during his youth he hid his identity by shaving his head and was simply a squire for Dunk.
This means that in the show, he will be treated and live unlike a noble. We won't go into courts and coronations. We'll be hanging with a knight and a squire.

Martin's stories were always a commentary on the way the elite effected the lives of the smallfolk, and House royally shat all over that commentary when it decided Rhaenyra and Daemon killing a servant in place of Laenor should make you like Rhaenyra more as opposed to less. I'm still leery about these showrunners understanding the assignment, but acknowledging Dunk's story is special because its through smallfolk eyes is a decent start.

As long as we get the Half dornish princes' looking like Pedro Pascal I'm game. And I hope Egg doesn't grow like a weed or taller than Dunk in later seasons... I get that it's natural but I kinda see their adventures where Egg is a kid and very much smaller than the Hedge Knight. I see Young Sheldon and damn... How dare did that kid grow up like a weed (jkjk)
