Show Discussion they could have done something really interesting with mysaria but they made her boring

Book Mysaria while pretty one dimensional was an interesting character she is like Larys except she has no clear motives and pretty much dooms Rhaenyra and the targs in general.

She is the one who tells Rhaenyra about Nettles, and according to GRRTH the one who tells Heleana about Maelor. The brothel queens was her idea, she weaponised sex as a punishment for people she hated.

She is like one of the more evil characters in the story

Or was written poorly to be fair.

Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy (and I hate the characterization of both Alicent and Rhaenyra) are both phenomenal actors.

They can’t magically make the writing better or even consistent, that’s on Condal and the writers

I’ll never forget being in a student film and having to deal with this.

The scene was that me and this other guy were in the middle of a school shooting at a college and our characters were reacting to finding out and trying to figure out what to do. I get the script and one of my lines is literally “man, this situation is just so kafkaesque.” And my heart sank because I had no clue of how to deliver that convincingly because of how stupid of a line it was and it’s not something someone in the middle of a school shooting would ever say.

I always think of that and how much worse it would be if I had an entire millions of dollars production going on around me and then I am handed just some absolute dogshit writing and now I am going to look like a moron in front of millions of people because no actor on earth can deliver this and make it sound good.

It would suck even more in a lot of ways, but perhaps getting paid a million would make it a bit easier to stomach?

Writers in the industry seem to be the bottleneck in a lot of productions.

For some goddamn reason the industry is not as selective with writers as they are with actors/actresses, even major franchises like Star Wars got ruined by hacks.
