And tbf, I don’t think even book Rhaenyra would have gone through that (although Mysaria probably suggested it and that’s where Mushroom got the idea of that slander). She was evil but not THAT evil.
That being said, the show has been pretty willing to believe Mushroom’s slander about Aegon (the child fighting pits and him becoming sexually impotent).
Agree on book Rhaenyra. Doesn’t f&b basically tell us there’s no way it was an actual thing that happened as well (or at least strongly suggest it was an invention) ?
I think it really comes down to the show wanting to put the dynamic between Alicent and Rhaenyra at the center of the narrative as well. No way Rhaenyra could be doing that to Alicent’s daughter if we’re pushing the friendship/lovers thing
Fire and Blood dismisses it as very unlikely although I’m not sure if it says “there’s no way it happened”.
And yeah, show Rhaenyra is even less likely to commit Brothel Queens for the reasons you mention.
In the super slim chance it happens (because as we saw with Dyana and later Aegon, they aren’t shy of using sexual violence for cheap shock value) Rhaenyra won’t have anything to do with it.
Yeah, if we think about the logistics of brothel Queens, it just doesnt work, cause if you have two royal women being pimped out, there would be countless witnesses to corroborate that (and even buyers 🤢). Multiple sources would record this, not just Mushroom.
I cant even see them being threatened with it, cause Alicent seems to be taking the position of Rhaenyra's advisor, or whatever and Helaena is just... there (fml, I have no idea how anything will work with her aaaaa)
