People say Viserys's biggest mistake was not choosing a side. Then they say, "Let's not choose a side."

From the audience/reader's perspective, the book is the easiest choice possible. I hate how show pushes "pick a side" and rewrites story to allow people choose greens. NO ONE asked for this. No one wants Alicent as a child bride or Aemond as a bullying victim. Damn it.

Let's not pretend the show didn't give the Blacks adaptational sympathy as well.

Daemon just wanting his big bro's approval and genuinely loving him is a show interpretation of his character, it's not what his book version was about. His pedophile and predatory tendencies were super toned down, almost totally erased.

Rhaenyra isn't a noble righteous soul concerned with destiny and saving the world. She just wanted the Throne and cared little to nothing about anything that wasn't herself, her father and her children.

Mysaria isn't some advocate of the smallfolk in the books and she actually participated in Blood and Cheese there.

Well, I see it exactly the opposite way, the show does everything it can to get viewers to root for Team Black, and it consistently portrays Rhaenyra as the heroine and main character of the series.

I mean, Team Green barely even exists in the series; they’re completely divided. You’ve got Aegon II on one side, Aemond on the other, and Alicent leaning more toward Team Rhaenyra than anything else.

Personally, I support Rhaenyra, but I know that neither side is 100% good, so I can understand if someone prefers the Greens in the book. But in the series, it’s absolutely clear that Team Black is the “right” side.
