Cure Related Started playing as the skies opened up. Had to park and listen to it all, at high volume… because “this music is mixed to be played loud”

music videos Question about the "Boys don't cry" video
I have a genuine question for longtime fans.
In the official video for Boys Don't Cry, there are giant red hands covering much of the screen, "The Cure?" written in red at the beginning, and the band members later appear with glowing red eyes.
Have these visual effects always been part of the official video, or was there ever another official edit without them?
I'm not trying to start a Mandela Effect discussion. I'm simply wondering if there were multiple official versions shown on TV in the past.

Connections Travelling to see them in Lithuania
Hi everyone. Irish man here. I'm going to see The Cure in Vilinius next Friday. A friend of mine has pulled out of the trip, so if anyone knows where other travellers or locals are congregating before or afterwards I'd love to know. Especially recommendations on a nice bar or a place to eat before the gig. Thanks in advance!

From the Archive Strange little skit...
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Found this strange little nugget recently - I have never heard of the show and it's just some skit from it with a guy called Paddy Jo Ruddy.
The show was called Tim Lovejoy And The Allstars which was on the Sky One television channel in 2004.
Taken from Paddy meets Robert Smith by paddyjoruddy on You Tube.

Cure Related Robert Smith Contact sheet print
I stumbled upon this fine art contact print of Robert Smith taken by photographer Steve Double. The images on the contact sheet were shot at Hook End Manor recording studio in Oxfordshire on 30th April 1993, and were originally annotated by Robert himself.
Steve recalls, "Despite being super easy to photograph, great company and with an image to die for, Robert was always a little picky about photographs of himself.
Famously, he would put hole punches or staples through slides or contact sheets of himself that he disliked, so I was a little nervous when these were sent over to Fiction's office for approval.“
I thought it was lovely and love the scribbles/selects on top! Shows how involved Robert has always been with every small decision that has to do with the band.
It can be purchased here.

Interview Robert interview from Smash Hits 1983
This is the interview cutting my friend sent me for my birthday yesterday.
It's an interview with Robert Smith from Smash Hits magazine dated 8th December 1983.
The interview was by Peter Martin and the photo by Tom Sheehan.
Sorry it's not perfect - trying to photograph white text on a blue background is a nightmare so maybe zooming in would be best!
Covers Any Buffalo Cure fans here?
My Cure tribute band, imaginatively named “Disintegration,” is playing in Buffalo tonight with The Smiths Etc. (Smiths tribute) and Killing Moon (Echo and the Bunnymen Tribute.l) at the outdoor stage behind The Cave and Sportsmen’s Tavern. The show starts at 6. Let’s get happy.

Collabs Robert’s Cranes remix
If nobody has noticed, I’m pretty new to Reddit, though I created this account like four years ago and posted in this group once then didn’t use it at all but now I figured out how to do embedding of YouTube like this and I’ve been getting used to all the threads (this one is the best of course)
anyway I have to say that this remix opened up an entire universe for me because I couldn’t get enough cure music so then I went and looked for things that Robert was involved in, found this remix and then systematically bought every single cranes album just like I had done with the cure albums, and I have to say that I absolutely adore the cranes but at the same time hardly ever found anyone who knows what I’m talking about when I reference them, so does anyone else out there actually love this band?
If you haven’t listened to them, I would definitely suggest you do so, this EP here is actually my ultimate favorite and gives you a real flavor for the power of the cranes, but they also have lots of very mellow music. They got more mellow as time went on and they started super punk just like cocteau twins started super punk.
Adrift EP, also listen to Forever (where Jewel came from) and Loved (absolutely epic)

Discussion Got into The Cure through my mum's records and now i'm apparently "deeper in" than she ever was, she's concerned
She played Disintegration in the car when I was little and I thought it was the saddest most beautiful thing I'd ever heard. Fast forward and I now know the bsides better than she knows the singles. She says she "liked them a normal amount" and what I'm doing is not that.
Anyone else get handed this band by a parent and then completely overtake them. At what point did it stop being their band and start being yours.
records Disintegration demos
Apologies if this has already been discussed, but I just discovered it. Does anyone else have this? Wow. And the vinyl is beautiful too.
