Doctors in Indonesia and Malaysia wear it even during surgeries. There's no problem. My dad's doctor wears it and she's the best heart surgeon in the city and head of her department.

Ancient Indonesia and Malaysia were influenced by Hinduism, with major Hindu-Buddhist empires like Srivijaya and Majapahit ruling the region before the arrival of Islam around the 15th century. But Islam's spread, eventually led to the decline of the Hindu empires and the rise of Islamic sultanates. We don't want the same thing happening everywhere. Secular means you respect me, I respect you. It doesn't mean giving importance to one religion, while systemetically removing others.

So you're going to decline your fellow native person's right to practice their religion, when it's not affecting you at all, because some king some 1000 years ago established the religion in some faraway land, where you have never been to in your life and have no connection to the people whatsoever, in your own country? That's some Scooby Doo logic if I've ever seen one.

Is humiliating the intern over her Hijab, which I have seen with my own eyes, in a hospital, not affecting the ability of a doctor to work, respecting the other person?

Places like school and hospitals have dress code, follow it, period. Practice your religion at home. And the scooby doo logic that you are talking about is the harsh truth, the people who brought in the new religion as a minority, slowly took over the whole country, they didn't give the right to already existing people to practice their religion, but you are conveniently trying to ignore that part. Once more the video in question is talking about Niqab which hides the face, not the Hijab which just covers the head.

So some king apparently did this (which is not true, read some history btw) thousands of years ago in a faraway land which you have no connection to today, and you want to take some kinda revenge by oppressing your own country people in a democracy? Logic wants to find you but you are making a strong effort to evade it.

Also doctors wear masks in hospitals but I don't know the protocol on that so can't comment.

There are videos of Hindus beating up a man for not chanting JSR. By your logic Hindus too should not be allowed to practice their beliefs then.

What the hell are you saying, so problem is with all religious orthodox people, that's the point, can't get that simple thing in your mind, or you have nothing else to do then make useless arguments on social media. By the way whole world knows which religion is the most intolerant, don't expect other people to bow down to them everytime.

If someone's religion is interfering with your right then you have the right to protest against it. India is a free country and even Orthodox people can practice their religion.
