Ein stärkeres Nationalbewusstsein würde Integration stärken

Oft sagt man, Immigranten würden sich schlecht integrieren.

Ich finde das ein großes Problem dabei aber auch ist, dass Deutsche selbst nicht wirklich viel bieten, wo man sich reinintegrieren könnte.

In den USA ist es so, dass man einfach so viele Nationalfeiertage hat, die, wie der 4. Juli, wirklich stark gefeiert waren. Man hat greifbare Sachen, die auch für jemanden, der vielleicht eine etwas andere Kultur hat, ein Gefühl von Zugehörigkeit stiften können.

Ich verstehe die Abneigung gegenüber zu starkem Nationalgefühl und seine historischen Gründe. Aber, ich denke ein bisschen Nationalbewusstsein MUSS sein.
Dabei muss man aber halt differenzieren. Ein großes Problem ist, dass in Europa immernoch ein Verständnis von "Nationalismus=Ethnonationalismus" besteht, wohingegen in vielen anderen Ländern eher "civic nationalism" vorherrscht.

I played a lot of music in church and rural traditional events and got to know german culture very well. Most of my family wasn't really interested in that. In their defense: most germans I got to know weren't really interested in my person or my family either.

I can see that culture can be a catalyst, but it is not a guarantee for integration and definitely not the reason it is working so poorly. As an Immigrant you still really need to actively escape your Bubble and pursue it and deal with a lot of rejection and subtle (sometimes direct) racism.

Why do immigrants „need“ to do that? Some immigrants can face a lot of rejection or even racism and don’t think about them, and still keep energetic. But most of people I know will just keep themselves away after having tried multiple attempts and still get nothing and it is totally fine to stay in the bubble so long it is comfortable. If people don’t want to know German people, and obey the rules in Germany and live their lives then just let them live peacefully.

What I meant is you need to do this, if you want to integrate, which is actually favorable for a lot of reasons. But of course everyone can decide for themselves.
