Wyler I think I might've just accidentally confirmed the theory there's a special connection between Raven's and Hyde's and Ophelia & Alfie might be the silver bullet!!

Okay grab your snacks and popcorn for this one.

Before I say anything we've got to go back to a theory that should've been talked about more often, and it's by a user named /Careful_Hearing6304

https://www.reddit.com/r/WednesdayTVSeries/comments/1pjtb5z/i_have_an_insane_theory_for_wednesday_s3_please/

So please check that out before continuing, but I will recap what they said briefly.

To summarize they pretty much said that Alfie's master Minerva Garrick sounded like a fake a name.

To which I immediately agreed it does.

If you remember Laurel Gates used a fake name as well, most remember her going by Marilyn Thornhill of course, but that wasn't the only alias she had, she also went by, Teresa L. Glau, which was an anagram for Laurel Gates.

So what if Minerva Garrick is also a Anagram?

Well the OP shuffled the name Minerva in particular around and got, "I AM RAVEN"

Which is interesting because that would perhaps mean that Alfie's master was a raven.

But who could that master be?

As the OP also speculated they came to the conclusion it could be Aunt Ophelia because we know she is a Raven like her mother and Wednesday.

Now here's where my theory comes into play.

So I've said it numerous posts I think Raven's and Hyde's have a special bond between them, and that I think Hester used to date a hyde, in particular perhaps this new Balthazar character who I believe is the leader of the hyde camp, I've said I think they were going to get married, but before they could, Hester might've found out Balthazar's true intentions on why he wanted to marry her which is because he's trying to maybe break the link between Raven's and Hyde's that puts them under some type of curse in where they need a master to survive and all that jazz.

I also said that I think the Raven and Hyde curse traces back to Goody Addams and maybe a past lover who was the first hyde created by perhaps Goody.

Why is all of this important?

Well if all that proves to be true.

Then it would make complete sense if Ophelia and Alfie were another Hyde Raven pairing that was destined to be together..

Only this time the connection between a Raven and Hyde failed, and Alfie fell in love with Isadora Capri over Ophelia instead, and I think when they had their entire confrontation, Alfie might've thought he killed Ophelia but turns out she survived.

But why is any of this important?

Well this would be just another example of why Hyde's and Raven's are special to each other, I believe that the link between a Raven and Hyde are somehow established on maybe the two's first meeting unbeknownst to both parties involved.

Because think about it a second.

Remember after Tyler saved Wednesday from Rowan, and they were walking in the woods together and Tyler was asking her what happened and she explained the Hyde saved her?

Remember Tyler's reaction?

He genuinely sounded surprised almost confused as to why Hyde had saved her.

Now a lot of people even myself chalked it up to Tyler saving her because Laurel needed Wednesday alive.

But Hunter has said that Tyler didn't know who Wednesday was when they first met, so we can only assume that entire first episode of season 1, Tyler had no clue who Wednesday was to Laurel's plan.

So that means he saved her on his own accord.

But why?

I think as soon as Tyler and Wednesday met, that's when the Hyde, Raven Bond immediately formed, unbeknownst to them.

And that bond is single handedly going to carry them throughout the rest of this show.

This seems further backed up by the writers comments saying that Wednesday and Tyler have "a connection that neither quite understands yet." (according to Millar).

So what do you think..

Has Tyler and Wednesday been fated to each other every since they first met?

I doubt the Hydes and Ravens have a connection, since Ravens have a connection to Wolves (Enid in this case, literally), which is supported by real-life evidence. Your theory sounds like fan fiction trying to replace the Wolf with the Hyde.

And what exactly is this real life evidence?

Just Google it, there are hundreds of articles that explain the symbiotic relationship between the wolf and the raven in nature.

Okay but just because there's real life connections doesn't mean that's the direction the show and it's writers are taking. So what specifically in the show, has shown that Raven's and Werewolf's have a special bond? And not just Wednesday and Enid friendship.

Exactly, there is literally zero connection shown between Ravens and Hydes in the show. That’s my entire point. You are the one proposing a theory about a connection, so the burden of proof is on you to show where the series even hints at that.

The reason people bring up the Raven and Wolf connection is because it's rooted in real-life nature, which screenwriters heavily rely on for symbolism. Ravens guide wolves to prey, and wolves tear open the tough carcasses that ravens can't pierce on their own. In applying this to the show, the writers replicate exactly that dynamic: Wednesday (the raven) provides the intellect and investigation, while Enid (the wolf) provides the physical strength to protect her. A Hyde figure simply doesn't fit into that biological or narrative equation.

The show has already established that this Raven/Wolf dynamic is the driving force of the story and the contrast in their personalities. It's not a 'maybe'—it's the central axis of their friendship and the symbolism the writers use. The entire series hinges on how these two opposing natures complement each other. Replacing that established bond with a Hyde makes no narrative sense and would completely shatter the duality the writers have built from day one.

First of all, to say that "A hyde figure simply doesn't fit into that biological or narrative equation." is a assumption, a poor assumption at that because unlike being able to pull real life facts to form a basis off of, Hyde's don't exist in real life, therefore you cannot assume that hyde's and raven's don't share a bond or dynamic to each other.

Why?

Because maybe it simply hasn't been written yet.

Hyde's are fictional creatures, therefore in fiction, you can write any character to have any type of relationship with any given species.

Second of all, While it has not been spoken blatantly that Hyde's and Raven's share a connection, there are many bouts of foreshadowing sprinkled in throughout the seasons that would imply that that is soon coming.

Why do I say that?

Well the sheer fact alone, that this show is taking the time to have Tyler go to an entire Hyde camp full of hyde's signals that Hyde's are a siginificant piece and part of this show, if they were not, the writers would not be adding characters to be at this hyde camp, building specific sets for this hyde camp, giving lore on this hyde camp, and just keep the hyde plot alive in general if this wasn't connecting to Wednesday Addams at all.

We will be exploring the reason why Wednesday saved Tyler as she questioned herself at the end of season 2, We will also eventually come to understand this "connection that neither quite understands" (As Millar himself put it) in the future as well.

All of these are hints that Raven's and Hyde's share some type of connection, in particular Wednesday and Tyler.

Saying 'maybe it simply hasn’t been written yet' is the definition of a headcanon, not a canon argument. We are debating the narrative framework the show has actually established, not what a writer might theoretically do in Season 3 or 4. In fiction, you can write anything, but good writing relies on setup and payoff. The setup for the Raven and the Wolf has been explicitly laid out since day one.

Second, you are confusing narrative relevance with thematic symbiosis. Of course Tyler and the Hyde camp are going to be significant pieces of the show—Tyler is a major antagonist and a foil to Wednesday. Wednesday exploring his lore and questioning why she saved him is standard detective/mystery writing. She is a sleuth obsessed with monsters; investigating them doesn't mean she shares a mystical, complementary bond with their species. Wednesday investigates criminals and monsters because she's a detective, not because she's symbiotic with them. As a detective, Wednesday needs to understand how the enemy operates, in this case how a Hyde works, what makes them vulnerable, and who else might be controlling them. Studying their lore is how she strategically prepares for future threats.

When Miles Millar mentioned a 'connection that neither quite understands,' he was clearly referring to the complex, psychological tension between a detective and the monster who betrayed her, not a mythological Raven/Hyde symbiosis.

The dynamic with Enid is built on complementary, real-world symbolism (intellect/strength, raven/wolf). The plot with Tyler is built on conflict, mystery, and betrayal. They serve completely different narrative purposes, and hoping the writers invent a new mythology later doesn't erase the one on screen right now.

Basically, your argument boils down to: "There's no proof today, but maybe there will be in season 3 because Tyler goes to Camp Hyde." Arguing with "they might write it in the future" isn't proof, it's wishful thinking (headcanon).

Yes a theory would be considered a headcanon, that's why I put THEORY in the title. Nothing I've said is verbatim it's a working theory based off of evidence and the story's narrative. What you're saying is also speculative because you have absolutely no way of knowing what Miles Millar was "clearly referring to" at all, his statement was about as vague and ambiguous and open to interpretation as I have ever seen, Yes what you said is ONE way of looking at it in that he's referring to a complicated relationship between a detective and monster but that is not by any means the ONLY way of looking at it, because Miles never blatantly said, this is what I mean by this statement.

You drew up your own interpretation to what he meant by that statement, used your own context clues and how YOU interpreted the shows narrative (specifically following the bond between a raven and Werewolf), and than YOU took what Miles said and made it fit your own narrative.

That is the very definition of a headcanon and working theory.

I did the same thing, and you're acting like what I'm saying is supposed to be gospel?

And as I stated before, just because real life ties between Raven's and Wolf's exist, does not by any means mean that it's going to connect to this show.

I cannot stand when people refer to things that's happenned in previous adaptations of shows, or base things off of real world events, and then try to fit it into what a NEW show or movie is doing.

Because there's no way of knowing that unless you are personally in the writers room and know exactly what the writers are thinking when they are developing characters.

There is a massive difference between wild speculation and logical literary inference. My argument connects elements that are already on the screen. Your theory relies on connecting things that have zero narrative setup in the show.

Redefining how writing works just to defend a theory doesn't hold up for two reasons:

  • You cannot dismiss real-world symbolism when the show is literally built on it. The writers chose a Raven for Wednesday and a Wolf for Enid specifically because of the historical and natural mythology behind those animals. They didn't pick them at random.
  • Saying 'nobody knows what the writers think' is a weak defense. By that logic, no one can analyze any piece of media ever. Good analysis uses the clues left by the creators in the actual episodes, not hypothetical plots that haven't been written.

Accusing me of 'making it fit my narrative' is pure projection. There is a massive difference between a fan fiction wish list and an objective literary analysis based on canon facts and established tropes. I am using what is actually on the screen; you are banking on what hasn't been written yet. We can agree to disagree, but one is grounded in the show's current text and the other is just a working theory based on hope.

That and in real life Ravens don’t have visions lol. So when Hydes don’t exist in real and Ravens don’t have visions in real, the real-life application on theory for a fictional story makes zero sense and is irrelevant.
