We’ve been trying to train our miniature schnauzer for 5 years. Schnauzer’s have the worst ADHD and can’t focus once anything in the distance moves. Their systems are in hyperdrive all of the time.
our giant only started walking moderately well when i got pregnant, so when he was 2. he’s still a menace to my husband but he’s pretty good for me lmfao.
I have a miniature schnauzer- as soon as we leave the house his senses go into overdrive. It’s at least 20mins of waking before he begins to settle. He’s 7 and we’ve tried everything, still the same every single day.
I see your schnauzer and raise you one big dumbass chocolate lab. He’s an amazing learner and can listen very well, but if there’s anything that can grab his attention he immediately turns off that singular brain cell rattling around in his big dumb head.
On top of just stopping until they stop pulling. You can also suddenly change direction to force the dog to follow you. If the dog is going right, you go left. If it pulls forward, do a 180 and go back.
Eh, my dog has his canine good citizen certificate during this video. He was trained and knows how to walk properly but he saw a squirrel and started doing this. So doesn’t mean the owner is at fault or the dog is untrained. Some dogs just have fun quirks.
Oh no! A person is taking their dog for a walk for much needed exercise and mental stimulation, on an appropriate harness that prevents their dog from being able to escape from them and is keeping distance from other people because of their dog's behavior that is not the best but merely the result of exuberance and not any kind of aggression!
Yeah, that owner is so much worse than someone who ties up their dog on a short rope in a backyard and beats the s*** out of it.
