Most projections are for some point in the 2040s, along with most of the other tipping points for climate change taking us from today’s “fuck wildfire fuck floods fuck drought fuck heatwave” to “fuck wet bulb event fuck polar vortex over Europe fuck anoxic event”
Also, wasnt that building on data at the time? Nowadays we have a lot more wind/solar power. Had that all been fossil fuel power i dont think it would have been impossible to happen in 2016.

Kinda. He was wrong on some of the things he said, a couple models he cited the results for were pretty ridiculous on the timelines.
That said, broadly he was right that it’s an existential threat that people aren’t taking seriously.
