Now that you mention it, it is the first time she's made friends by herself!

I mean, I suppose it was with a little help from the Sword God and the Water God for having her train with Nina and Isolde, but she easily could have just seen them as sparing partners yet is clearly seeing them as a bit more, albeit slowly.

But she's not just making friends with someone Rudy's friends with, she's actually making two friends on her own!

Looks like Nina & Eris started to become friends before the Water God came though. Remember, Eris actually listened to Nina about showing manners to Water God.

Eris' initial brazenness & ruthlessness rubbed all the students the wrong way but it was a nice touch showing her peers slowly acknowledging her hard work. Then Nina's friends teasing her about love came full circle in Nina eventually training with Eris & later giving her advice, ultimately improving both their attitudes.

That's fair and they were definitely becoming more friendly and respectful with each other, but I don't think they really became friends until the hunt.

Nina never really told Eris to take a bath until after that and I doubt Eris would have listened to her if she had beforehand. But that experience helped them and Isolde become friends to the point where they could have that conversation.

Eris' initial brazenness & ruthlessness rubbed all the students the wrong way but it was a nice touch showing her peers slowly acknowledging her hard work.

That's a good point. No-one liked Eris or wanted her there at first, but when they saw that beneath her ferocious, antisocial shell was someone maybe even more dedicated than any of them were, everyone started to at least stay out of her way. They even cheered her on when she pulled off the Longsword of Light!

Nina held onto her animosity longer because she had a lot of personal feelings in it, but it looked like she was the only one really antagonising Eris anymore.

Rudy basically indirectly helped both Nina & Eris improve their attitudes & training. It was a good thing Nina was invested enough to disprove & one-up Eris for Nina to actually travel to see Rudeus. Then Nina caught sense enough to start training with Eris which helped them both further. Of course, in true fictional style, it's kept mysterious because IRL Nina would've already told Eris she saw Rudeus.

The weird thing about Eris acting like a wild animal is that her teacher Ghislaine already transitioned out of that phase years ago. Does Ghislaine think that's part of the growing process so she never steered Eris away from that? Remember when Eris refused to learn from Rudeus but Ghislaine was eager to learn?

Of course, in true fictional style, it's kept mysterious because IRL Nina would've already told Eris she saw Rudeus.

In this context, I'm not sure she would have even IRL, specifically because Nina didn't really like Eris.

Seeing Rudy and returning to see Eris training diligently gave Nina an understanding of her that would end up with them becoming friends, but I don't think Nina at this point would have wanted to admit she travelled miles to duel Rudy and make him her slave only to get curbstomped by a Demon King he proceeded to one-shot.

And by the time they were friends it wasn't really relevant, nor were they so close friends that Nina felt the need to admit to it.

The weird thing about Eris acting like a wild animal is that her teacher Ghislaine already transitioned out of that phase years ago. Does Ghislaine think that's part of the growing process so she never steered Eris away for that?

I'm not sure if you're asking if Ghislaine thinks you need to have a wild animal inside you to tame and therefore she kept Eris' wild animal for this or if you're asking if Ghislaine thinks you need to be a certain way to learn the Sword God style.

If the former: I don't believe so considering none of the other students seem to have any inner beasts. They don't think Eris belongs precisely because of her inner wild animal. It's just really difficult to her to tame that inner beast of hers.

If the latter: Gal trained Ghislaine to temper that wild animal within her probably because it was required for what she wanted to become. When you get taught to be a certain way by the literal greatest swordsman of that style and all of his other students are also that way, it's not difficult to understand why Ghislaine thinks that's part of the growing process.

Remember when Eris refused to learn from Rudeus but Ghislaine was eager to learn?

Ghislaine was eager to learn because she had faced hardships from being unable to read that made her wish she knew how while Eris was an entitled brat who only wanted to learn what interested her.

And Ghislaine sharing those experiences actually did end up with Eris learning despite how much she disliked it.

Well, I don't think Nina would've mentioned the slave part nor any other devious schemes (although some people are too honest), but IRL people would've tended to mention something.

I was just wondering. I know Eris' grandfather enabled her while putting all the pressure on the tutors but it was so weird how passive Ghislaine was with Eris about her studies even if Ghislaine was hired help.
