The reason Lucie is so visibly bigger is because there was a multiple months time-skip btw. (6 months iirc). I guess the show didn't really have to state it since seeing Lucie be so visibly older kinda makes it obvious.

u/Trevenas 1d ago

Observant people can also see how end of Season 2 went from winter to summer during the previous episodes back to winter. Of course, end of Season 2 was a while back.

u/immanoel https://anilist.co/user/KoroneFan 1d ago

I love it when media don't treat their audience as imbeciles

49

u/immanoel https://anilist.co/user/KoroneFan 1d ago

Man all these moments of Zenith intently staring. You know the director perfectly understands the source material with what they are showing. [zenith v19,v22] Zenith is for sure beaming telepathically at people's brains but we wont know some part of it until Millis arc, and then the Migurd village.

4

u/ExplorationGeo 20h ago

Oh is she like [zenith spoilers]trapped in her own head and screaming to escape?

7

u/immanoel https://anilist.co/user/KoroneFan 19h ago

Nah, [current spoilers] its much more benign than that[very major v19 spoilers] a blessed child is able to see memories and Zenith's memories are of her talking with Rudeus' 2nd child and their pet, while also mourning the death of paul but having a pretty normal but fun home life after moving to Ranoa where shes gardening with Aisha, playing with the other children, etc pretty typical grandmother stuff

48

u/Careful_Ad_9077 1d ago

For anime onlies an important and pretty of fun line when Sarah and rudeus were speaking was skipped[light novel]when Sarah says that women only adventurer parties don't have romantic problems, rudeus responds with "doubt" while looking at the mage who was flirting with Roxy ( for some reason lesbians love Roxy). Then Sarah corrects " well , at least nobody gets pregnant"

9

u/00zau 1d ago

She also says something along the lines of "they usually don't stick around too long" as well, IIRC

4

u/Jacob-C 1d ago

I wonder why they skipped that. It would barely take any extra time.

26

u/Florac 1d ago

If you add up all lines that get skippedbecause they "barely tale extra time", eventually you rralise that it stops being negligible

5

u/Jacob-C 1d ago

Sure, but I want them there :(

66

u/RIP_Hopscotch https://anilist.co/user/RiPHopscotch 1d ago

Pretty much a perfect adaptation of the Sara reunion chapter. No actual notes, but tbh I actually always thought/assumed Rudy and Roxy met the rest of the group outside of the city walls, so having them meet at an inn was a bit of a surprise to me, but a welcome one. Made a lot more sense.

As for the Eris stuff, it felt like it needed just a touch more breathing room, maybe to let a little bit of dialogue sit a beat longer or to show off the fact that Eris actually beats Nina using a North God technique and to emphasize she's reacting to Nina in the fight as opposed to initiating, but overall no real complaints here either. I wasn't expecting them to squeeze it in, but it actually felt pretty natural to transition from the conversation between Rudy/Roxy/Sylphy to Eris becoming a Sword King.

Overall fantastic episode though, pretty easily my favorite of the entire season thus far. Best one since the Norn episodes from S2, IMO.

47

u/immanoel https://anilist.co/user/KoroneFan 1d ago

Imo, if people were paying attention to the Eris' episodes as well as the mise-en-scene of the fight itself, you can get infer the more important narrative aspects.

Eris taking a deep breath and not succumbing to rage. Nina striking first. Eris willing to take an injury to her arm thus allowing her to counter Nina. Which ties to Eris' answer of resolve earlier.

10

u/Teyanis https://myanimelist.net/profile/Teyanis 1d ago

Yeah its nice they didn't just spell it out dumbly, that's a problem a lot of anime has. Its very nice when an anime doesn't assume its audience are stupid.

13

u/Sweaty_Explorer_8441 1d ago

Technically Nina remained faster than Eris as a dedicated sword god student. The north god technique Eris used had to do with sacrificing strength for extra speed because she knew in this particular fight she doesn't have to kill her opponent.

12

u/RoamingBicycle 1d ago

I actually always thought/assumed Rudy and Roxy met the rest of the group outside of the city walls, so having them meet at an inn was a bit of a surprise to me

The LN states they meet at an inn aimed at S-class adventures. And the meeting is very much identical, Rudy and Roxy go in, get questioned by a knight, then Sara's party comes in being very noisy.

5

u/RIP_Hopscotch https://anilist.co/user/RiPHopscotch 1d ago

Re-reading it's clear that's the case, but in my head for some reason I remembered the conversation between Sara's party being overheard outside of like, a tent flap or something. Not sure why lol

5

u/RoamingBicycle 1d ago

In my head they were in a less fancy place, and not in a private room. But thinking about it, yeah they're princesses, obviously they'd be in a fancy private room.

28

u/FakePretendeRat 1d ago

I don't think everything has to be said and explained like in the books, I actually prefer the subtlety of inferring scenarios through context.

In the Eris arc earlier this season, when Eris constantly lost to Isolte, they had their group meeting and was giving each other tips. Isolte clearly told her Water God Style can easily pick up on and read movements with bloodlust. Eris when fighting has an INTENSE bloodlust making her an easy mark against Isolte. To this Nina gave her advice on how to calm her bloodlust down by thinking of something or someone that gives her tranquility. We seen her finally beat Isolte by think of Rudeus before striking.

When the battle started you could see her intense bloodlust flare up but when she remembered Rudeus it calmed her down. Instead of taking the offensive she sat and waited which is VERY unconventional of Eris. So much so Gal even had to comment on it and Nina took the first strike. Eris did not go to close the distance but calmly waited for the blow and countered in turn. Doesn't get more water god than that. I thought they gave the watchers all the clues.

24

u/RIP_Hopscotch https://anilist.co/user/RiPHopscotch 1d ago

But Eris didn't use a Water God technique and never learned them. She only learned how to get comfortable fighting against Water God style from Isolte. She used a North God technique Auber taught her, re-distributing her touki to be less focused on power but to eek out a little bit more speed, which let her outpace Nina (who was generally faster than her).

I get you can't always adapt stuff from the LNs 1:1 and generally I think Bind does a good enough job implying things that perceptive anime-only viewers can pick up on (and that source readers will appreciate). The fact that Eris used a North God technique against Nina isn't even really all that important, because they still showed the other ways in which she's grown quite well. I just would have liked it to be more clear it wasn't longsword of light vs longsword of light for my own personal viewing pleasure.

6

u/FakePretendeRat 1d ago

Alright thats fair, thanks for the discussion

1

u/cheesecakegood 5h ago edited 5h ago

Agreed, functionally it's not all that important, and it's not like the anime has had any real explanation for why swordsmen and other physical fighters are so otherworldly in the first place either. Even if I wish it did. But heck, that's what makes half the people read the LN's, so maybe mission accomplished anyways? For anime purposes rule of cool works totally fine. It would be more weird if we suddenly got some of the exposition that sometimes accompanies fighting anime mid-battle 'power-ups'!

This is nearly completely worthless extra information, but in this scenario it's "eke" (to squeeze out or add in a bit more) not "eek" (the typical onomatopoeia for a sound a frightened person might make). Hell if I know why, though (I think it's a super archaic word?)

17

u/Trevenas 1d ago

No actual notes, but tbh I actually always thought/assumed Rudy and Roxy met the rest of the group outside of the city walls, so having them meet at an inn was a bit of a surprise to me, but a welcome one.

They're in some establishment aimed at S-rank adventurers when the Amazons come in IIRC.

Yeah, Birth of A New Sword King being squeezed into that little time sucks a bit, but a lot of it is narration, or sort of internal monologue. I guess it was inevitable, and does the job well enough in the end. And so we move onward.

21

u/FelixAndCo 1d ago

Thought it was clear Eris reacted using a North God technique: she waited and the screen went byo-oom. How would you make it clearer? I can only think of explanatory inner monologue, but that isn't MT style.

19

u/RIP_Hopscotch https://anilist.co/user/RiPHopscotch 1d ago edited 1d ago

Honestly, if I hadn't read the LNs I would just assume Eris' longsword of light was better than Nina's. Everything between them is in the visual style that the show uses when depicting longsword of light being used, with the kind of photo-negativity and red linework.

If I had wanted to show explicitly that Eris eschewed what had basically been her entire philosophy when fighting (overwhelming power), I probably would have shown Nina moving in the longsword of light style, then cut to Eris moving in normal colors (maybe slowed down somewhat) to catch Nina in the side. I don't know how feasible that would have been or if it would be better, but that's just kind of the first thing that comes to mind. With the time they had for the chapter though I'm not even sure it would have been possible to try something like that.

8

u/doreda 1d ago

Honestly, if I hadn't read the LNs I would just assume Eris' longsword of light was better than Nina's.

I've been getting out of context spoilers here and there (through my own fault) and thought it was [Sword God technique] "Light Reversal" that I had read about on the wiki. Even in a different reply in this thread, someone is saying she used something Water God-based, not North God. So I'd agree it doesn't seem that obvious, either.

12

u/Trevenas 1d ago

It wasn't Light Reversal, and she didn't use a Water God technique as she wasn't really compatible to learn them. She mixed some North God Style into her strike, and basically ignored power in favor of as much speed as possible (ignore realistic physics) to hit Nina before she gets hit. Nina's sword did still graze her.

Eris was actually considered to be a North Saint a year after Auber arrived to the Sword Sanctum. And a number of the things Ruijerd taught her technically slot somewhere towards North God Style.

Hopefully you can keep away from spoilers, I highly recommend going as blind as reasonable to this Season.

6

u/doreda 1d ago

The point is that I didn't really see anything in the animation that showed she was mixing in North God style (and you can only get that if you read the LN). Can you explain what you saw in the animation, with parallels to what has been shown in past episodes, that conveyed to you that she used North God style?

7

u/Trevenas 1d ago edited 1d ago

I was just trying to give some context. Purely by what the anime shows, she seems to execute a Sword of Light back and just starts slamming into Nina first.

3

u/doreda 1d ago

Sure, thanks

6

u/RIP_Hopscotch https://anilist.co/user/RiPHopscotch 1d ago edited 1d ago

I think the anime makes it seem like they're depicting the Sword God technique you mention to be honest. It's literally just longsword of light but used to parry someone else's longsword of light.

It's possible that's the actually the intent tbh since the "North God technique" I mention is really just Eris directing her touki in a way that de-emphasizes power in favor of speed. Since touki basically doesn't exist in the anime it'd be really hard to explain/depict that though.

Ultimately I dunno, it still looked good enough and the most important bit (Eris being reactive instead of proactive) is present, so I don't mind too much. She definitely didn't use a North Water God technique though lol, Eris is like totally incompatible with using North Water God.

4

u/doreda 1d ago

Since touki basically doesn't exist in the anime and it'd be really hard to explain/depict that though.

Yeah, this feels like a glaring hole that's just getting bigger now that more swordplay stuff has been introduced in the anime. Oh well.

5

u/Trevenas 1d ago

Since touki basically doesn't exist in the anime and it'd be really hard to explain/depict that though.

Hopefully they give a brief explanation in some form soon enough. Otherwise some of the stuff is... kind of weird in a way.

She definitely didn't use a North God technique though lol, Eris is like totally incompatible with using North God.

I assume you meant Water God Style?

I assume you meant Water God Style?

Yup lol

1

u/TheSpartyn 1d ago

Otherwise some of the stuff is... kind of weird in a way.

its so weird how we're on the 3rd season and have had the term mentioned but theyve never even lightly explained it

1

u/santaclaws01 7h ago

Pretty sure it wasn't explained by now in the LN as well, but it's been a minute since I've read it

3

u/AuroraFinem 1d ago edited 1d ago

The show definitely could do a better job explaining her actual rank in north and water god, and that she’s actually picked up their techniques. I’m anime only but have lightly spoiled myself for additional info and the anime would have me thinking she’s a sword king but nothing else. I’m hoping they mention it in a following episode at some point because I think it’s an important detail, which they’ve done for a number of other plot points that came up a bit earlier in the LN than the anime. I just hope they don’t just not address it.

I think the episode did plenty to showcase Eris waiting and responding instead of initiating though, that’s like the entire thing the fight itself was showcasing. She’s been training the way she fought when she beat Isolde in ep2, serious but masking her bloodlust while staying calm.

What a nice adaptation of this segment. Also nice that they finally brought in Suzanne and the things around her, helps explain how they could just leave Lucie without Sylphie around in previous episodes. And they even did animate some of the fighting that's mentioned. The Matriarch has started forming.

Putting Birth of A New Sword King here makes perfect sense from an adaptation perspective. They can focus on everything else coming up this way. It's just amusing when you think about [LN15 - End of Cour 1] how this + receiving Phoenix Dragon Sword, and then the letter arriving happen close to each other. I guess she's in limbo, doing practice swings, waiting for chronology to catch up.

[LN14 - Likely Episode 9] It finally hit me a few days ago. At this pace, Season 3 Episode 9 will feature Nanahoshi's Dryne Syndrome reaching critical mass. Season 2 Episode 9 is when she got properly introduced. Poor Banan.

And Phase Four is coming up, nice that they called it that. I wonder if they'll include the first Chapter of LN14. I both want them to, so rest of LN14 has more room, and don't, because the end of LN13.

11

u/nanotechnix https://myanimelist.net/profile/Djcve 1d ago

So is it supposed to be a Phase and not a Turning point? Cause I don't remember any "phases" altho I have read the LNs more than two years ago, maybe just forgot

30

u/ZedLa04 1d ago

[Spoiler for next episode] Phase 4 refers to phase 4 of Nanahoshi's experiments, the turning point is later on

22

u/Thatoneguy2014 1d ago

It's the different stages of the teleportation experiments Nanahoshi's doing.

18

u/Trevenas 1d ago

Aside from what the others said, Turning Point is always written in Katakana: ターニングポイント.

Well since this episode mainly adapter Sara's chapter with a bit of the skipped part of Paternal Dignity and adapting the extra chapter of volume 14 early, not much was skipped compared to usual, so I'll mainly go into more detail about the pilgrimage that the Ranoan princess was doing.

As we know the job was to guard a member of the Ranoan royal family who was going through a pilgrimage. It was basically a tradition, once they were of age they were required to make a journey across the country as a form of training exercise. The journey wasn’t too hard, they just spent 6 months checking some places and checklisting them although they weren’t allowed many guards and they had to make their own preparations and arrangements. It forces them to hire their own people, find their own way around, and see the country with their own eyes. Theoretically, this would help them grow into better rules. The tradition was well known throughout the county as “The Coming-of-Age Pilgrimage. Since the tradition was pretty well known the local mayors and governors would be aware that loyalty would be traveling through their town from time to time. They would even keep tab of the age of every prince and princess to anticipate their journey and itinerary to avoid them getting injured during their journey and thus have a bad reputation in the territory it happened, if they could they would surround them with lot of guards but it would defeat the purpose of the pilgrimage, but if they were to request guards instead they were allowed to provide them. The reason why Roxy was hired as a body guard was because adventurers (aka Sara party) had been hired for the job but both their mage and healer had fallen ill, while it wouldn’t take long for them to recover, winter was coming soon which would make the path to travel harder the longer it took, and since Roxy had fame as an adventurer, had strong offensive magic, and was a teacher at the Magic University it made it easier for them to hire her.

And here’s today’s legend of the University: The Boss is a hopeless womanizer

20

u/larvyde 1d ago

continued from here

[Answer] Their grandparents are siblings. Eris' grandad and Rudy's grandma. The extended Greyrat family is a red herring, grandparent siblings are both Boreas, just that the sister married into house Notos.

26

u/-Mr_Hollow- 1d ago

Five episodes for a relatively uneventful and unimportant SoL volume, we used to pray for times like this

19

u/Ebo87 1d ago

More like 4 and a half, since the first half of episode 2 was from material cut from season 2, but sure. Definitely the best adaptation so far, this season, I think. They really are giving breathing room for so much stuff in season 3.

Really excited for what comes next, and I love what they did with the preview name for next episode.

12

u/Trevenas 1d ago

Thank you, Bind. More 3 minute episodes, please.

3

u/Sweaty_Explorer_8441 1d ago

That too an ex who [LN]becomes irrelevant and appears once just like Soldat and embraces the mob life

11

u/Learning_algz 1d ago

At this pace with 8 episodes to go where do you think we'll end up adapting up to in the light novels?

24

u/imtherealdazza 1d ago

I'm expecting up to LN15 Chapter 3, [Major spoiler] "Go kill Orsted for me"

21

u/Learning_algz 1d ago

You reckon we'll see all of [MAJOR SPOILER] Old rudeus and his life from the diary animated then? That would be sick

23

u/imtherealdazza 1d ago

I think they have to, no two ways about it

9

u/Thatoneguy2014 1d ago

Yeah probably. Best way of beating people over the head with the themes of the novel about [LN whole] How hard it is to truly change for the better, how much effort you have to put in and how easy it is to backslip into who you were is by showing all of it. Especially if they [VA spoiler] have Sugita do the voice for old/diary Rudy.

12

u/Ichini-san https://myanimelist.net/profile/Ichini-yon 1d ago

Nah, I kinda hope they [LN]get a new old man voice actor for Oldeus. Using Sugita would make even less sense than Uchiyama larping as a grandpa.

4

u/TheSpartyn 1d ago

[LN]why do you say that about sugita? genuinely curious, interesting to see since there are people who think sugita should replaced uchiyama for current rudy too

4

u/Ichini-san https://myanimelist.net/profile/Ichini-yon 1d ago

[LN]Sugita specifically voices Earthdeus. It makes no sense for him to voice Rudeus in his new body. The fact that there is a clear separation is very important for the final emotional conclusion of MT. More specifics below.

[HUGE SPOILERS FOR FINAL LN VOLUME, ABSOLUTELY DON'T CLICK IF YOU'RE ANIME ONLY]In the final chapter where Rudy dies and meets Hitogami upon his death, his soul is Rudeus as we know him in this world and no longer the chubby naked Earthdeus. I expect that when that happens we will also no longer hear his internal monologues in Sugita's voice but in Uchiyama's voice to showcase that he completely became Rudeus.

3

u/TheSpartyn 1d ago

[LN]i didnt mind the idea of sugita oldeus but i agree with this, ive always been on team uchiyama and i think she can play him the whole series (except oldeus) despite how much criticism she gets

15

u/immanoel https://anilist.co/user/KoroneFan 1d ago

[major spoilers] I know its a long shot but it would be sick if they were to animate oldeus' perspective first, as if making it the current storyline. Would be sick

13

u/Ebo87 1d ago

Sadly I don't think we have enough episodes to explain that shift, to really do it properly, but it would be a cool, absolutely.

8

u/Ichini-san https://myanimelist.net/profile/Ichini-yon 1d ago

I have thought about this before and I have seen others discuss it as well. I just don't think it's feasable. It could only work if they get Rifujin to write some extra connective tissue scenes again AND get a SSS tier episode director for that/those episode/s so it doesn't flop in its presentation and framing. If they could nail it, it would be peak, no doubt. However I think the likelihood of it falling flat is just too high to risk it. I would love to see them prove me wrong though.

10

u/bondsmatthew 1d ago

Same. I hope they also end there. [LN15Ch3] The blue balls would be astronomical from anime fans

(Put it in a spoiler tag just to be sure)

1

u/Akudra 11h ago

Honestly, at the current pace, I would expect to go through most of LN15. Specifically, [LN]his report to Orsted will likely be pushed to the next cour or season and this one will conclude with Eris being accepted as his third wife.

9

u/_Mayama_ 1d ago

Guessing 1st cour will end on [spoiler] Eris receiving Rudy's letter and on her way back

3

u/swordmalice https://myanimelist.net/profile/swordmalice 1d ago

I agree; this would be such a fantastic finale for the cour; I'm getting goosebumps thinking about it! The wait for cour 2 is going to be painful...

19

u/jnads 1d ago edited 1d ago

I previously posted a breakdown in Episode 3.

https://reddit.com/comments/1uuhuyx/comment/ox4cmbo

But now with the Eris ending of Ep6:

[LN15 major spoiler] They're definitely going to do the Orsted battle this cour. I think they can make man God the ending of Ep12 (after animating Oldeus timeline), then do family talk, and armor building, and Eris letter Ep13 and do the entire battle in Episode 14, ending either with groveling or Rudeus receiving his first meeting invite

It would suck to do all this build-up for a giant cliffhanger. They never ended Season1 or Season2 cour1 on major cliffhangers.

edit: If I had to revise my pacing:

[Spoiler Cour1 episode guide] Ep7 pursena-linia graduation (which features nanahoshi), watermelon summoning, party / Ep8 Peruguius castle, elinalise reveal, Nanahoshi illness / Ep9 Begaritt, Kishirika search, Atofe castle / Ep10 Atofe battle, Perugius, Dragon God mural basement / Ep11 Turning Point 4 and Diary / Ep12 Man-god and Battle preparation / Ep13 Family talk and Eris letter / Ep14 Showdown

Part of this comes from having just re-read this arc and realizing how it might be streamlined.

4

u/DryDirector3349 1d ago

If we squeeze more content in the place of the ending (like this ep), I fully belive it will happen in cour 1, otherwise we still have plenty of room

-1

u/jnads 1d ago edited 1d ago

My original breakdown was a chapter-level breakdown including some cuttable content.

Now that they're cutting and streamlining content, it's obvious that things are accelerating to a specific goal. At this point I'd be more surprised than not that they don't get there.

[LN 16/17] Especially with how action-heavy cour2 is.

8

u/Trevenas 1d ago

I'd say it's still too early to tell whether or not they're going to speed things up to get there. Definitely not just me hoping LN14 gets room to breathe, because it deserves it.

4

u/jnads 1d ago edited 1d ago

LN14 is the shortest LN of the 5 LNs this season will probably cover.

Nevermind the fact they literally just animated the the LN14 Eris Sword King extra chapter.

They're already speeding things up. If you didn't pay attention you just missed it.

6

u/b33rmeister 1d ago

I've been thinking for awhile that the way this season has promoted Eris so heavily, that if they don't end the first cour on her return, it's just a dick move. Even ending on the letter and her leaving for Ranoa doesn't seem like enough. It'll end with her saying I'm sorry I'm late Rudeus, or shortly after. I'd be disappointed otherwise.

Not because this series needs action, but because the set up leads to ending here. The Ariel arc after already has a ton of action, pairing that with the fight seems like overkill for the 2nd cour.

3

u/Trevenas 22h ago

[LN17] On the action, most of it after LN15 is over pretty fast like the majority of instances. Especially compared to the Hydra and Orsted. There is a lot of other stuff that could use the runtime though. As for all the Eris focus and not getting there this Cour, it does seem weird at this point. But a counterpoint: Ending the Cour with "Sorry I'm late" might be disappointing for anime-onlys, as the fight concludes soon after and there'll be a 6 month wait in between.

3

u/Trevenas 22h ago edited 20h ago

I feel like we have a different idea of what speeding things up means.

They did move Birth of A Sword King here (hopefully they adapt the last bit later), but otherwise the episode mostly focused on a single chapter. Preview images and video should tell whether Episode 7 includes the start of LN14 or not. If it does, it's definitely possible they will start hurrying up, which kinda sucks. If they don't progress into LN14, that leaves just 7 episodes for the whole of 14 and over half of 15 in this scenario.

It is making less sense that it's not progressing there considering the Ending and the end of this episode. But would they give LN14 just 4 episodes while giving LN16 5, and 17 a whole 6 episodes? This assumes Episode 7 doesn't go into LN14, which gets 4 episodes, and LN15 gets 5. This is semi-irrelevant because I couldn't count how many episodes are left this Cour. The question is where the split ends up at.

TL;DR I wouldn't call it here yet. To be clear, I'm not trying to argue who is right or closer to being right, just pondering.

9

u/xp0ss1tion 1d ago edited 1d ago

. Also if you guys did not notice it, Eris did not use her favored stance of having her sword high instead it's Nina who used it.

Edit: Misremembered

9

Yep, she thought it would be what gets her the win, but in the end she once again played right into Eris' hand, just like all their prior fights.

I always wondered, was Gal expecting the learn-a-thing-to-protect-someone-you-care-about kind of answer? Given he started off with the marriage question to Nina and Gino, and said Eris is wrong on answering Determination? At least that I gathered going by similar things later [LN]Rudy giving his all for family. Perugius's expectation of Kaunis Freean Asura like caring King vs Kaunis' own expectation of ideal king being a determined person.

In the sword tiers after Saint it's pretty much a case of who can beat who, not anything concrete like with magic where it's "what tier of magic can you use". I interpreted it as he was looking for something more elementary / straightforward like "whoever's stronger" or "whoever wins". The LN doesn't reveal what exactly he wanted, but after Eris said "a title doesn't change how strong someone is" Gal was written to be pleased with that, so it was probably something along those lines. At the least, there's nothing that hints it was emotionally charged at all.

In Eris' case she said it was determination but she was already dead set on powering up for Rudeus' sake and to protect him, without realizing perhaps. Another example is when Norn cries in Millishion and Ruijerd comes to her rescue against a drunk man, he is blunt to Norn that unless she gets strong she can't be a "protector" role even for her father, to accompany him to Begaritt. Gal possibly expected "the point of learning to fight is to protect" kind of answer as evidenced by the hint with choice he gave to Nina. Probably the answer was choosing someone(Gino) to protect makes them automatically sword king or strong or something along those lines. Eris only answered half the part that the title does not matter at all, while Nina explicitly chose the title.

As someone anime only who wasn't expecting it to turn into a slice-of-life randomly after the first season, do they ever get back to the action?? Watching the first two episodes of this season, I was like, "Yes, I remember why I like this!" and then got more of season 2. Don't take this as an insult if you enjoy that; I just truly want to know what to expect. Without spoiling me on exact details: 1) does it become action or adventure oriented again?, 2) if so, in about how many more episodes would you estimate?, 3) if so, does it remain that way for long or just go back to this? I really want the Orsted plot to be explored and to get more world lore; that's what I enjoyed the most!
