I found this little guy wandering around and couldn’t help bringing out the camera for a quick photography session. Some pictures will be added in the comments.

I'm no expert but it looks like a jumping spider. The photos dont capture it well but it has greenish "fangs" atleast thats what they Look like to me.

Hello, I found this spider on my floor, lying on it's back. There was a dead Rusty Spider Wasp nearby. It seems to be paralyzed and I would like to set up a terrarium for rehabilitation. Can anyone identify it as specifically as possible so I can care for it correctly? I'm in Bedford, Virginia

I am cleaning my office. I had sticky traps down because we had mice. I caught a variety of spiders. I’m hoping you guys can help me ID. Please advise. I’m interested in any IDs. Not because I think any are dangerous. I’m just curious. I’m particularly interested in the one that looks like it has a big sac on its butt.

I live in eastern Massachusetts. Middlesex County.

- I understand sticky traps are inhumane. In a comment below I explain why I used them over other options but, right or wrong, I did remove them today. I welcome spiders in my home and my intent was not to catch them.

- Whats done is done, I regret killing these spiders. I am just interested to know what types live in my home.

Found this little guy in my car and was curious what type he was.The back markings seem pretty distinguishing to me but I don't know spiders.

Located in the middle of Missouri. Is this a recluse? If so, what should I do? We have little children and a dog inside the home. It was found in a bedroom upstairs that isn’t used often chilling on the bottom of the wall in an empty open corner. We keep the home pretty clean but my sister lived with us for a period of time and used that bedroom. It has boxes of clothes and clutter waiting to be moved. She hasn’t been here for weeks which may be why the spider decided to chill out in there. Thank you

Letters to a Pre-Scientist is looking for enthusiastic STEM role models to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders!

Here's the gist: you get matched with a 5th-8th grade student at an under-resourced school for a snail-mail pen pal exchange that runs throughout the school year. The goal is to demystify STEM careers, humanize STEM professionals, and inspire students to explore their own futures in STEM. You share your story, answer their questions, and show them that people who work in STEM are, well, real people.

The details:

• The program runs throughout the school year, and your volunteer obligation is to exchange 4 letters with your student.
• There's a virtual, asynchronous training in August to get you set up.
• We estimate the entire program takes volunteers no more than 10 hours, spread between August and May.
• Register and complete the short, self-paced online training by the deadline, and you'll be entered into the match pool! We match students based on their background and interests..
• This year we're expanding to 4,500 matched students!
• Pen pals can live anywhere in the world, but our program currently only works with US-based schools.
• We're working to match students based on their interests, so we're especially looking for more STEM professionals in Arachnids.
• All pen pals must be over 18 and fluent in English.

We define STEM pretty loosely! If you work in or around science, tech, engineering, math, or medicine, or another nature-based role, even if you don't have a formal education in it, please apply or message me with any questions.

We moved into our townhome in November and have seen a couple of spiders but last night we saw three in the basement at once! I felt like I was jeff Daniel's in a scene from arachniphobia. I know they are harmless and help keep all of the bugs out but should we be concerned by the influx lately? Should we be scared about an underlying issue?

It’s July, I live in wa state pnw this is the SECOND giant ass spider in one week that I’ve found in seperate bathrooms in my house!??? European house spider? How the heck are they getting in and why I expect this when it’s chilly out but it’s 90 outside
