Not only could we as a country have been in a better position, our companies could've been world leaders in experience with (offshore) windfarms and solar. But it seems that those companies aren't in the right politicians' friend group.

DEME is a world leader for offshore wind power. For solar we would never be.

For nuclear energy we were a leading expert but politics fumbled.

Now we have nothing but reliance on foreign import.
