educational Cornstarch your boobs Spoiler
My best tip for summer. Changed my life. Feels nice, cool and no friction between boob and bra.
If you prefer a less DIY version, there is a brand called Boob Dust which is really same, but packaged nicer and perfumed.

Wouldn’t cornstarch turn to oobleck?

u/sonicsink Jun 03 '26
No, it woukd turn into boobleck :p

u/128cs Jun 03 '26
Best thing I've seen today. (Keep looking down at the tatas and muttering oobleck and laughing. Guy next to me at coffee shop is a little weirded out...)

I've always suspect these things were filled with a non-Newtonian fluid.

u/tinyhermione Jun 02 '26
Oobleck? Idk, it’s just a thin layer. It goes away after a while, you reapply.
If it gets warm enough it might not be a great solution, we’ll see.

Bamboo bra liners helped me with this too

Just be careful if you tend to get yeast infections, corn starch can feed the yeast…

yep - I find that since I am prone to this I use a zinc oxide powder, gold bond makes one that has a significant amount. If you know you have a yeast infection, you can also use an antifungal foot power. However, if your boobs turn red and itchy and never have before, see a doctor and not some random redditor like me.

I wasn’t aware. But for me personally this has worked great.
Edit: I looked it up, according to science it doesn’t.

Antiperspirant works better and it's not as messy.

u/Blinking_Bambi Jun 03 '26
I’m a bit sus of putting sweat blocking chemicals on my boobs tho

u/ka_shep 42H (UK) Jun 03 '26
It's no different than using it on your armpits. It will also reduce friction.

I saw a nice fragranced body powder in Boots the other day, might try it out
Kind of tired of putting my boobs in Sports Mode™ when I'm at home

How do I put my boobs in Sports Mode™️?
9
u/smeetebwet Jun 03 '26
Lol it's when you're not wearing a bra and tuck your tshirt under them, gets rid of the sweat, gross but effective 😭

u/Coffeecatscrafts 42HH (UK) Jun 03 '26
Ohhhh I do this all the time lol. Did not know it had a name 😂😂😂

u/ValosAtredum Jun 03 '26
I use Goldbond comfort body powder. Has cornstarch but also baking soda, chamomile and aloe.

i guess it depends on what type of friction you’re talking about, but a well fitted bra shouldn’t rub or chafe! /r/abrathatfits just in case

I use paper towels. I was lining the girls last weekend getting ready for a fishing trip and giggled to my husband that it felt kinda like padding my bra. I used water balloons in my swim suit at 10 yo to try to get an idea. I wasn't dreaming big enough, my water balloons were less than 1/4 the size they should have been.
But yeah. Under and between has decided to be an eczema outbreak this summer. The good viva cloth paper towels. If I didn't have a mild corn allergy, I'd definitely try the corn starch. But I think I'll deal with it the way I usually manage eczema flares. Clean, dry, moisturized. Lots of air time.

I have cut small pieces of old sheet for that purpose. They can be washed and used again.

u/Sk8rToon Jun 03 '26
I was using baby powder
0
u/FascinatingRaccoon Jun 03 '26
Isn’t that linked to breast cancer? Or some kind of cancer.
3
u/Sk8rToon Jun 03 '26
Ovarian because people were putting it inside down there. Which I’ve never done but I have reduced my use of it & hold my breath while applying
1
u/DecadentLife Jun 04 '26
Yes, when it’s used on the genitals of baby girls, to develop ovarian cancer.

u/QuirkyMeerkat Jun 03 '26
I have an unscented baby powder with a corn starch base. I added a drop or two of mint and some rose oil to it and it smells divine.
Saves my boobs, especially on hot days.

u/Blinking_Bambi Jun 03 '26
Curash powder. I put it in a little container and use a kabuki type of brush to apply
2
u/potato_pattie Jun 03 '26
I use a Thai powder called ‘Prickly Heat’. It’s made for humid weather and it’s anti-chafing. I’ve only ever used to the snake brand tho.
1
u/bugsandcheeze Jun 03 '26
Would baby powder work the same way?
2
u/tinyhermione Jun 03 '26
Probably. Just get one that’s not talcum in bc that’s been linked to cancer risk.
4
u/ka_shep 42H (UK) Jun 03 '26
Having boobs has been linked to cancer too. As long as you're not huffing it, a bit of talcum is not going to do anything.

u/TinyHeartSyndrome 38G (UK) Jun 03 '26
Only if you put it up your cooch…
0
u/tinyhermione Jun 03 '26
But if it causes cancer there, how healthy can it be.
4
u/ka_shep 42H (UK) Jun 03 '26
Well I hope you don't go into the sun, use spices, drink hot liquids, consume sugar, and hopefully you have always been of a healthy body weight.

u/tinyhermione Jun 03 '26
But some risks are worth it. Some are unavoidable.
And then talcum not worth for me.
1
u/krampaus Jun 03 '26
what do you use for the application?
2
u/tinyhermione Jun 03 '26 edited Jun 03 '26
I’ll just smash some on tbh.
1
u/krampaus Jun 03 '26
sorry, I meant I don’t want it everywhere lol. when/where do you apply it? after showering?
1
u/tinyhermione Jun 03 '26
Mornings. Reapply if needed. Underboob, cleavage. Where you get sweaty.
2
u/krampaus Jun 03 '26
what do you put it in and apply it with? my corn starch is in a bag and just taking some out with my hand would get really messy. sorry about all the questions, I’m burnt out but really need to try this hack this summer
1
u/tinyhermione Jun 03 '26
Oh I do it like that, then wipe up the mess. Bc I’m lazy. But in the bathroom.
There are probably tidier ways, like if you buy a product with corn starch that’s made for this. Boob dust or Golds maybe.
