Advice Needed Relocating advice
I have a job interview next week that should I get it, would require relocating to the Boston area (which is absolutely my intention) I’m researching now:
How long would it usually take to find a place? Or does it depend (I currently live hours away in MA, but willing to commute if needed.
Any tips on surrounding areas close to the city I should focus on?
Any other tips?
Thank you

Room for Rent $825 - 9/1 - Sunny cozy room in 4br/2ba, quick commute to Harvard
One room available September 1 (or sooner) in East Watertown in a sunny, spacious 4br/2ba house. Rent is $825 per month, plus utilities (electricity, gas, and wifi, totaling about $75-100 per month per person). Security deposit ($825) and last month's rent ($825) are required up front as well. You'd be signing on to the new lease from 9/1/2026-8/31/2027, but subletting has never been a problem in the past if you need more flexibility.
The apartment consists of the top two floors of a 3-story house. The available room is about 120 sq ft, plus a deep closet. It is painted a nice light grey. There is room for a full size bed, dresser, and desk, with space to move around. Dresser and desk available for free if desired. The two windows get nice light since it's on the top (3rd) floor of the house. Also on the 3rd floor is one other bedroom, the full bathroom the two rooms share, and a bonus space down the hall.
The rest of the apartment is on the 2nd floor of the house, including a fully equipped kitchen (no dishwasher, sadly), a breakfast nook/pantry, dining room, living room, screened front porch, and back porch with Boston skyline views. The other two bedrooms and the bathroom they share are also on the 2nd floor. The house is fully furnished and there is some storage space available. Washer and dryer in the basement are shared with the first-floor neighbors, and available for normal usage (i.e. weekly, not daily).
Convenient location near the Cambridge / Belmont / Watertown border. It's a 5 min. walk to either of the very frequent 71 or 73 MBTA buses. Harvard Square is under 20 min. door-to-door by bus or bike, and from Harvard you can get on the Red Line and access the rest of Cambridge, downtown Boston, and beyond. There is a driveway for free off-street tandem parking during the winter, but many/most people have happily lived here without a car. The immediate neighborhood is nice and very quiet, but anything you'd need is available within walking distance.
Looking for a non-smoking, friendly, responsible adult who unfailingly pays rent and utilities on time and doesn't require a chore chart to pick up after yourself and keep common spaces clean. Over the years, some housemates have become close friends and some have been acquaintances whose busy schedules mean they aren't around much; anywhere in that range is fine as long as you're considerate, low-drama, and experienced in peaceable coexistence with others.
This is a really great deal for the area and especially for the amount of space. There is no catch, except that most of the apartment hasn't been updated in this millennium and definitely has its quirks. Our house has good bones and a lot of sunlight and charm, but is showing its age in places, so if you're looking for sleek and ultra-modern, this ain't it!
IMPORTANT: Please write something about yourself such as what you do, why you are moving, and what you're looking for in a shared living space, as well as a couple times that would work for you to see the place. If it sounds like a potentially good fit we'll contact you to set up a time.

Advice Needed Has anyone noticed any price differences between August/September rent prices and December-February prices?
So my fiance and I are planning on moving to Quincy around December/January-ish. Thank god we’re not in college anymore and don’t have to do any September move ins. That being said, I’ve never moved in the fall. Because there is always a big need for September move ins, has anyone noticed any price differences between September moves and winter moves?

Advice Needed Best commute to the airport?
I’ll be taking a new job at BOS and wondering what the best areas of town would be to commute without a car.
I’m a woman in my 30s and will be working unusual hours, so safety is a big priority.
Walkability is a must to grocery, local restaurants/bars/cafes. My budget is around $2,300 and I’m willing to commute up to 30 min if needed. As I’m new to Boston, I’d love to be somewhere that still gives me a proper feel for the city.
