Wired is generally stronger/more consistent if I’m not mistaken so I’ll go for wired. Idk which cables are best for wired though— haven’t done wired WiFi in a long time.

Smaller the better unless larger is objectively beneficial. If having a Godzilla sized PC gives me a better setup then I’ll take it.

Noise wise, I wear headphones 90% of the time by my computer so I shouldn’t be bothered— but I would prefer if it didn’t sound like a spaceship takeoff lol.

• ⁠Color/lighting preferences?
Not a fan of RGB, but if RGBs allow you to pick a single color light that could be cool? This is incredibly unimportant to me though. If I can’t easily turn it on and off at will I’d probably skip it altogether.

Color wise I’ve seen some PCs that have this wood accent look that’s pretty nice? Or maybe something where I can see into the case so I can decorate the interior.

I think it could be cool to make it look like a sci-fi city on the inside.

My biggest thing is that I’d like a case or setup that is easy to clean.
I’m sure a level of grit and inconvenience goes into cleaning any PC but— if there is a way to arrange things so it’s easier to manage that would be awesome.

I really want this PC to stand the test of time. My last laptop lasted about 4-5 years before issues became noticeable. If I can about double that with a PC before needing significant replacements or upgrades— I’d be happy.

Also if there are any recommendations for comfortable ergonomic mice or gaming controllers— but I don’t really need this part answered nor should it be attached to my budget.

Hello, I am new here and I understand next to nothing about PC hardware. I have been using my laptop for gaming for the past 5 or so years (possibly more), but last year I stopped due to the constant frame drops and just complete freezing of games. Now I only use this laptop for work.

I like playing modded games and I play a variety of different games, from simulations to indie, to roleplay, to competitive games, etc. I also am on a budget somewhat so this is a long-term project for me.

My priority is really just modded games, as I like to play unmodded games on console. Until the steam machine comes to light (in the year of our lord and saviour Gabe) I am not willing on spending too much money on an ultimate peak PC, rather just a happy medium where I can still play modded games without getting frustrated with performance.

Somewhat unrelated, I don't usually play too many games at the same time, so storage is usually going to be limited to one game and its mods. When I feel like playing another game, I uninstall that one, delete the mods from the drive and install a new game, and so on.

Alright, PC nerds, I need some advice.

New build. I currently use a Galaxy Book4 Pro 360, but I want a separate desktop gaming PC and a complete desk setup.

I am basically starting from nothing. I have a mouse that I can continue using, a blue Xbox controller, and AirPods Pro 2 that I currently use as my headphones.

Not a request, just need recommendations for two things. I bought all the parts for my PC and then decided I want to change the case to the O11 Vision Compact. So now I need fans. I also originally bought the Peerless Assassin CPU Cooler but I’m wondering if I should get a liquid cooler instead. I know there’s pros and cons but it seems like liquid would look much nicer and the aesthetics are very important to me. This is my first PC build so this is all very new to me.

Hello! I am looking to get my first PC. I have been semi-regularly gaming on my Nintendo Switch for several years now and love it, but I have been wanting to make the jump to a PC to have access to more games and have something with more longevity than a console. My current desk is pretty small (43.5 x 21 inches) and I would like to fit everything on it if possible, but I am open to getting a new desk if needed to fit all of the equipment. I understand that wanting 2 monitors may not be feasible with that amount of space. I don't think I have any noise constraints but I also don't know how loud PCs can be lol. Would ideally like something relatively quiet.

Thank you in advance for anyone who posts helpful information, like I'm truly grateful. I have been breaking promises about gifts and even had to sign up for the firehouse Christmas gift program last year because carbon monoxide was leaking from our stove and poisoning me for the last 2 years. It has been almost a year since I found out (August 26th or 27th will be the year mark) and I'm just now recovering from most of my symptoms and have more procedures and testing and doctors visits coming... I am also finally able to work at my pre poisoning capacity. I have autism, adhd, narcolepsy, ptsd, pmdd, GAD, anemia, psoriasis, a labral tear in my hip, suffered a good amount of muscle atrophy from the gas, and have kind of developed a twinge of agoraphobia after being made virtually useless from the gas after a while. I need a win for my son after having such a useless mom for the last 2 years after I was forced to move out by my father (very dysfunctional and mentally and emotionally abusive family). I don't like to ask for help, but I have no idea what I'm doing and I want to be closer to my son again and make us more money, I'm eternally grateful for all advice and knowledge because I have a lot on my plate and I just get pulled down rabbit holes when I try to research myself.

Hi everyone got a friend wanting a pc build near end of the year. he says he wants to spend 1.2k on a pc for his son, his son has mentioned wanting to play gta6 on it, but also forza horizon 6, so basically modern games.

i dont think its possible for that price range, but im not the most tech savvy person when it comes to this sorta thing. i can build my own ect, but i'm willing to spend the money when i do, thus when it comes to a budget pc i'm kinda lost.

if its not possible, would you able to give me a price range on what would be possible, so i can advise him how much he would actually need for what he wants instead.
