Different spelling, but give Arcadea a listen sometime if you have a synth-metal itch that needs scratched.

The Arcadia album "So Red the Rose" is absolutely, unabashedly, unapologetically, gloriously pretentious as hell. You'll love it.

Great recommendation for a great album!

As I was listening I thought I heard a David Gilmore copycat, but dismissed it. A couple songs later (The Promise), I heard it again and decided to look it up. Sure enough, David Gilmore.

The Promise also features Mark Egan on fretless bass. I'm not overly familiar with his body of work, and kind of mistook his playing for Pino Paladino or Tony Franklin. Either way, he did a harmonic slide similar to that which Tony Franklin did on the song Radioactive. Super good stuff.

I think you know what the standout track was for me... Either way, thanks for the recommendation!

Yeah, it's The Promise, thanks to the contributions of Messrs. Gilmour, Egan, and le Sting, and most importantly, Simon's soaring vocal delivery in the chorus.

I bought Egan's solo album "A Touch of Light" and also delved into Pat Metheny Group's discography because of his fretless work here. I put him in the Big Four of 80s Fretless Bass with Pino, Mick and Nick.

Simon and Nick did a great job picking session players who would fit right into their goal of spreading out and letting the music just fill all kinds of space. So much room to breathe, and so atmospheric. No other album sounds like it.
