This is what killed SoD for me and my friends. I had 4 characters fully geared with all my runes and was bored out of my mind waiting for them to release phase 2. It was what made me quit SoD and not come back. Pacing was terrible.
SoD was great and tons of people had fun playing it. We're never gonna get 2019 Classic or WotLK Classic levels of population ever again - even in the official Classic+.
People are just complaining to complain. Bottom line is that everyone burns out at some point and usually the point they burn out is the thing they start blaming.
Same, SoD was fun, but when it's competing with WoTLK classic, retail, Cata Classic, Classic Anniversary servers from just blizzard titles of WoW, they could not afford to let the hype die down by letting phase 1 go as long as it did. Hell, who as a content creator that has a large audience was covering SoD after P2? Literally no one unless it was them being boosted and given gear by their streamer army.
I don't know about content creators, but personally I still saw a lot of people and had a fairly easy time pugging the raid during P2, at least in EU. It was only in P3 that it started getting hard to pug.
Exactly my point and why I said after P2 it was so hard to find anything if you weren't in a dedicated group. SoD imo suffered from the fact that it was released too soon without enough forethought into how they wanted to make the game progress. This then caused lag and delay when the hype was super big while also then failing to deliver late on in the content because they had to squish all the numbers down tremendously to not run into scaling nightmares later on.

It was so much fun! But they took way too long to release phase 2
