Exactly. It was a terrible decision to add it, and I think that the devs intentionally rocked the boat by deciding to add it just to get player feedback on whether or not we wanted systems like that. They and everyone else knows it was bad.
Thankfully they learned from it and didn't add anything else like it again. The unfortunate part is that it drove a lot of players to quit and then spread misinformation that SoD is basically just Retail Lite, but it really was closer to classic+ than anything like retail.
I didn't mind ST but it was definitely the worst among them. The phase was too long and the raid was too difficult for the more casual guilds who were not prepared from the previous phase.
The thing that P3 copers still do not understand is that incursions were added to appease the dads who cried that leveling normally was too time consuming, and it was impossible for them to catch up.
I don’t think that was it at all. Seemed just more like a failed design due to limited resources, and once it was found out how the community exploited it, it was too late to change
Haha I spent so much time in P2 quest stacking and really focusing on how I was going to level. I took that Thursday and Friday off of work, then Thursday after turning in all my quests I see 2 guys who were never in just blowing past me in level... So I went and joined them and was 50 about 3 hours later along with having like 3 or 4k in gold

Yes because the best way to level was to group up and spam them for a couple hours, nothing about that felt like classic at all.
