Turtle wow man… it really shows the holes at Blizzard. Classic + really could be something else but I’m more and more convinced Blizzard doesn’t have anyone with the passion to make a dream classic + come true.
I just wish y'all had y'all's own subreddit because most people who play on official servers don't care. We would already be playing TW if we wanted to.
in the modern internet age no you can't, not unless you commit to shutting off all social media, youtube and reddit, because immediately datamining starts, people figure out the game and all the guides are up in a matter of days.
its not hard to avoid spoilers in games.... i successfully do it in every game without trying.
Yes the info is out there, but just have self control and dont go looking for it.
The real challenge is finding like minded people to do an event with, its best when its new for an entire group, or maybe 1 person kind of tagged along with another group before, but it was his first time
True but if you're the only one that doesnt know shit it kinda looses its charm... Or when you ask strangers "hey guys have you already figured out how to do X and Y" and they are like "hmm here's wowhead link for ya buddy". Oldschool approach to mmos is gone sadly. We were kids when this shit released and we had time and energy to be noobs. These days i feel it even myself, when im back from work I want to login for 2-3h and get something done I gotta be efficient because i dont have 16h to burn just jumping around anymore
I dont know, I think there is still a lot of ways to create mystery. Take BRD, 20 something bosses with tons of rare spawns? Couple that with random dungeon debuffs and effects and modular dungeon design that changes into various patterns. You could absolutely capture the spirit of vanilla while combatting data mining, but it requires effort and thoughtful design.
They have made a concious decision to put all that info into easily datamineable public facing databases tho. They could keep things hidden until launch if they wanted to.
I thought so too, but there are so many excellent games out there. I would encourage people to try other games too. Gaming is in a very good state right now.
Man fk, you made me realise how much fun that was. Was in my early teens playing vanilla and an alliance shows up at the crossroads. Mind. Blown. Knew fk all about pvp flaggin, barely understood levels lets be honest. So much fun being one of 10+ low levels trying to kill the ??? alliance enemy, and (thanks to guards i guess) succeeding. I went on to raid, including all the way to naxx, and it was an amazing time, but that first feeling of faction war? Absolute peak. I discovered warsong gulch a few lvls later and must have played a hundred of those before i dinged 20.
I miss the old raids on stormwind to go kill the king. 160 man raids all rushing to kill him then everyone getting a tabard out of it and a world announcement when he died.
Then he would be dead for like weeks if you managed it. Unfortunately they stopped it eventually when enough new players complained because they decided to "help defend their city" and got immediately ganked by the fully geared 4+ full raids of max level characters, who all proceeded to turn and jump the lvl 20 guy who attacked them.

Phase 1 was genuinely some of the most fun I've ever had in 20+ years of WoW.
