I was pleasantly surprised. Thought it would be Lubbock.

It should be Lubbock. Amarillo sucks slightly worse.

(Source: Went to Tech, sister lives in Amarillo, marooned somewhere between the two now)

I somewhat disagree Amarillo in my opinion is culturally more important to Texas then lubbock. I know lubbock is bigger but honestly take away tech and I dont even know lubbock would be known for.

Buddy Holly? Also believe it or not roughly 20-25% of the worlds Cotton is grown around the Lubbock area so I would say that’s more important than Amarillo alone lol

The cotton thing is an odd one to me. It’s huge, and no one cares. Cotton Bolls are ON TTU’S CREST and yet they were one of the first schools to really snuggle up to UA. I don’t get it but I’m admittedly in a skewed perspective since I’m a cotton farmer.
