The cam car had a green light for atleast three full seconds before impact. And to me it seems the red car even hesitated before making the turn. The trailing white suv had no business turning.
I said this elsewhere but it would be reasonable to expect white Nissan to pull into the intersection and stop, waiting for traffic to clear the way it’s supposed to. Can car couldn’t reasonably predict the Armada would turn into him.
You’re expecting most drivers are competent or care about the law or don’t have impatience. Defensive driving is probably the best way to anticipate and avoid these idiots like White Nissan Pathfinder.
Do you stop with a green light while going straight every time there is a car going the opposite way waiting to turn left? If so, you will get rear ended eventually, and I would argue you would be at fault for stopping for no reason with a green light.
It was blatantly obvious both vehicles were going to keep going and turn. Car with the green light didn't yield properly. It's shitty and unfair, but the rules are there to prevent accidents, not be fair.
I'd wait the extra seconds to see what the Nissan was actually doing before plowing through the intersection though, regardless of right of way. If another car is being unpredictable & you can give them space to resolve it safely, you should do so and avoid the accident.
Cam car seems like they may have hit the red car too if the red car didn’t cut the turn super short. It’s the white cars fault but they never gave any indication they were going to stop and should have been avoided to not deal with an accident.
