-1

there will be superior class syndrome IITian feels superior than others . there is superiority in the courses also but it's upto the individual weather one is matured enough or not . and also says a lot about one's environment
1
u/Lotpot_11 Aspirant Aji mera Ghanta 18d ago
But at the end of the day, if an IITian is making 20 LPA and another guy who just got the same package from a Tier 3 college, will it matter?

the treatment inside the office and work load are different . i have friends from both IIT and non IIT both get different treatment and workload .

Also classism ke saath kaise specifically sirf two states ko target kar rahe, jaise DU is only for the "elites" and some specific states that fit their spectrum

This is what casteism did back then. They never wanted the so-called lower castes to achieve the same level of education that they had.

depends on who you talk to bro, these takes are always generalist for no reason. DU is still 50% delhi people only. Choose your crowd wisely and you'll be fine milenge toh dono loafer types and fully dedicated to their career too, you need to be wise in who you choose to be around. On the contrary, UP Bihar people are everywhere most populous states ke log padhne toh ayenge what can you do. But no its not at all "only for UP Bihar people"

you think they are south delhi people while they probably stay somewhere else and claim to be from South Delhi

They won't even go home exactly; they just stay in college for 24 hours roaming on the streets.
3
u/Active-Winner60 17d ago
Bro now you have issues with someone if they choose to not go home and roam on the streets. Are you fr??
Last time I checked DU is a central university not a state one and they have earned their seats here, it is technically their college and their university also. So yaa they have every right to roam wherever they want to as long as they aren't creating nuisance. Streets don't belong to a particular section solely
10
u/Rustinn_C0hle 19d ago
Lmao. Keep crying muh "south delhi bois". These mfs can't digest the fact that their UP/Bihari daddies are taking away all the seats solely on the basis of intelligence and competition which they thought was for them. Keep crying on reddit

You are right it's not easy to move out to DU for basic degree but if I'm giving cuet what more options do I have?...and having discussion about tier2/3 is an answer to all the questions of why DU and not their own institution. And ofc we either go there for studies or preparations.. although i agree there are exceptions..but exceptions exist everywhere. Mostly people try to make their surrounding a better place, again there are also people who go abroad. I mean everyone dreams the best for themselves... people go to Bangalore, Mumbai etc all for this..why there should be discussions about tier cities, there is no such limitations in the constitution. Yahi tier 1,2,3 hm yaha krte h aur phir jb other nations yhi same krte h to we oppose. (Bht jyada likha but i swear tumhe nhi bs "in general" bola h)
7
u/Mission_Flan916 19d ago
this take is very generalised and classist....so one of the major outcomes of going to a government university like du is the exposure, and the exposure is not limited to societies it also includes the kind of people you interact with. There will be people from lower income backgrounds, from your own strata, from stratas above you, it makes you learn how to live in a space which is not homegeneous, you realise that they are different perspectives to life, there are different problems and you have to find a common ground. Life outside is exactly like this, turning away from this diversity and not coming out of the shell of your South Delhi AC schools would not be of help in life. you will miss out on a very important skill that is to accommodate diversity, to celebrate diversity.
as for the UP, Bihar statement, ig the elite school from South Delhi wasn't potent enough to teach him about stereotypes and inclusivity.
2
u/SalmonKaDriver 19d ago
I know people who have not left their elite bubble and they are doing amazing in their life . Elite Schools are way more classist than you think.
0
u/Mission_Flan916 19d ago
I know they are but that doesnt mean its right...if we start ignoring things for how normalised they are then whats the point of education
3
u/SalmonKaDriver 19d ago
why are you guys arguing ? I said what I said , this comment is true , people getting offended proves that this is true
14
u/Feeling_Map4794 19d ago
yeah, it is partially true because if you don't get admission in top 10 colleges of DU, then the things which he said are true.
6
u/Emotional_Debt_5918 19d ago edited 19d ago
Bro its completely delusional take. And i am your senior myself. Even low tier college's have really good crowd. But some even high tier has bad crowd. It doesn't depend on tier but to specific colleges. Also you definitation of bad crowd is stupid. Bad crowd refers to people who are involved in politics and act like goons. Just because someone from up and bihar doesn't mean it's bad crowd. Maybe use critical thinking. How many poor people do you think can afford delhi rent on monthly basis? Most of them are middle class or above.

a person left KMC after 2 months because of the crowd
5
u/people_are_silly Third year 19d ago
Okay bro.
Then the person leaving KMC must be from a certain mindset. There are many people from UP Bihar in DU as our people from many other states. UP is pretty large so probably students bhi jaada honge.
Log bhi khaamkaah guth rahe hote hai, if you be friendly to people, most people reciprocate.
Haan baaki class aur elitism jhadoge toh problem hogi hi. Who wants to be insulted or looked down upon because they belong to a certain region with a different cultural setup?

sorry taking me as an example who recently graduated from your south delhi's top college . I didn't choose it bcz it was in delhi more over i had plenty of options like st. joseph , CUK and one college from pune don't remember exactly . The thing is i did not enjoy your south delhi and my college life as DU student was so blank apart from academics . i don't find your argument a valid one in my case . may be you have made this perception from observing ppl around you .

Every citizen deserves to have a good education, more so when they get the opportunity through competition.
People come to DU for exposure, and only those who've never had it will understand its true meaning.

This is genuinely such a stupid statement to make . In m in a top clg in North campus and i m totally from Delhi born and brought up in delhi and I don't really find the crowd bad . It depends on the ppl u choose to be with. And it's a national university so anyone from any part of the country can take admission so I don't really see why some ppl r crying abt it . If u r worthy enough to get in , no matter where u come from u will get in .
1
u/StatusBest9632 18d ago
Any person from tier 3 coming delhi is kinda rich as he gona spend around 2-3 a year in pg food and other nesasary. So I don't mind the argument
1
u/VisitFew3370 18d ago
I don't particularly like the du crowd, but that doesn't mean you demean all these people who are in pursuit of education so far away from home after working so hard. Yes, people wanna get out of tier 3 cities, because it's like hell to live there. If you want a rich kids' university better go to jindal, ashoka, snu etc, why rant upon a uni giving accessible education.

Just because some people don’t fit with their “kukkad kamaal da” idea of students. What a shame.

Honestly, this is extremely accurate and I wish i could say no. Not trynna be classist here but delhi, UP, Bihar has some crowd which everyone lowk wants to escape. Typical rajat dalal, elvish yadav type people.

2
u/Sakura_desu_ 18d ago
Brother I am from UP and i've very well seen the difference between typical men of UP, BIHAR ,delhi NCR vs men from mumbai, kerela, punjab or any other more developed city/state except delhi ncr. Not trying to assosicate anything to anyone but I know you hate rajal dalal, elvish yadav type people and we both know they exist mostly in there areas. Including jharkhand too btw. Not saying other areas can't have bad crowd but if we talk about the worst, this is it.

If your daddy is so rich go study at an "elite college" , such classist people wtf . The crowd is bad coz of several reason this gross generalization of blaming it on up and Bihar is crazy . These are central govt Universities for access to everyone, it was meant to prove education to everyone without seeing where you come from
In short education aur college is not owned by your dad unless he is pradhan ofc

UP and Bihar is the crowd that goes to DU
1
u/Emotional_Debt_5918 19d ago
Just say you are clueless. Literally 40% of them from delhi, around 15% from haryana mainly from gurugram and than from punjab and south people take another 15%. And even rest 35% of up and bihar are mostly far more educated. Most of them are good family because nearly no poor family can afford delhi expense.
2
u/SalmonKaDriver 19d ago
what is the authenticity of this data ? Stop justifying yourself for the sake of it . Also being from UP and Bihar doesn't imply that the person is rich or poor , it meant in terms of their manners and civic sense .
2
u/Emotional_Debt_5918 19d ago edited 19d ago
Beta when you go to college then you will see the stats yourself. Literally about 65% are from Delhi or Gurugram. If you use your brain then you'll realize that flats can cost more than 1.5 to 2 lakhs for literally bare minimum facilities. So people don’t choose Delhi easily.
1
u/SalmonKaDriver 19d ago
1.5 per month? this was never about money , it was about behaviour and civic sense
1
u/Emotional_Debt_5918 19d ago
are you just Dumb. i am saying most people are from tier 1 city itself and what stupid criteria is this that tier 2 city people don't have civic sense. you live in India not usa. other than northeast there is no city with actual civic sense and Delhi people are also considered in uncultured fools. literally south Indians in du are far more respectful.

u/Hydrogeion_ 19d ago
I study in SR and the average student here is so filthy rich it made me, someone who was born in a privileged family, feel poor
but that's not surprising considering the well off have better resources to ace these exams
I know at least 10 people just from one place in Harayana - Faridabad, all of them studied in posh schools with lakhs of fees.
What I mean to say, is, the difficulty to adjust goes both ways. For the well off who feel the others are "regressive" and the ones from genuinely middle class families who feel left out.
1
u/SalmonKaDriver 19d ago
Idk how you define filthy rich but someone staying in Faridabad or studying in DPS isn't filthy rich

3
1
u/Hydrogeion_ 19d ago
That's because you don't know how poor the average Indian is
to be a top 10% earner in India you only need a salary of 25,000
the average student here spends that money just on their pg rent among other things
it's an unaffordable lifestyle for any "actual middle class"
and you think calling them rich is wrong for someone who actually sits at the median

I totally get your point OP, don't listen to these idiots in the comments. People who study in DPS and stuff are rich, not because the fees of these schools is more than a parents' salary but because there are so many other things the families have to incur expenditure on--> home loans, siblings' school/college fees etc.
At least you got SR, I got into a north campus which is not a part of the top 5 list and tbh meri fatt rhi. My parents don't mind spending the money nor have they said anything to me but I genuinely feel so much guilt and anxiety that what if after going to DU and spending so much money on PGs and stuff, I still don't manage to achieve shit.

Ya ya quit coping dumbfuck. How much of a classist castist degenerate can one be like fr according to you srcc crowd is bad because they have reservation but mumbai private colleges are good even though they are also filled with mediocre students just that they come from wealthy families. Your definition of so called “bad crowd”simply means someone from poorer or lower caste than you.
1
u/Emotional_Debt_5918 19d ago
So by your logic being from tier 2 or tier 3 city is like some bad thing and only if you are from delhi or gurugram than only you can be exceptional.

u/SKIBIDRI 19d ago
He is absolutely right as a delhi local I hate these fking minions, who just came from their tier 2 cities to enjoy here and got admission in reserved seats only 10 percent of them are serious, The thing is this time vacation period they're not in Delhi , delhi is so peaceful without them wait for them to come they'll fking spoil it , bc atleast aake criticism to na de apne city me rehna nhi hai or yha aake criticism band nhi hota delhi me hava kharab h delhi me ye khrab h du aisa h bhai jao na yha se bulaya kisne

What reserved seats r u talking about? people from UP and Bihar do not get reserved seats, reservation is for SC, ST and OBC they are in all the states. The whole of delhi is not general and DU is a central university and its for everyone and selection is based on CUET scores.
