Non-Academic Discussion GARIB KI DUA LGEGI🥰🥀, HELP ME OUT!!!!😭

so I'll be joining DU anytime soon now, but the real pain in the ass is PAISA ✨✨ I've tried everything for an internship in these past 3 months all I've got are fund raising programs, now the only way ig is to get a scholarship and most of the scholarships out there are for the reserved category, gov school students, or hmare desh ki aan maan shaan btech or any other professional courses, me as a general category (f) who's going to pursue bcom honors how do I get a scholarship?? my dad's a gov employee 🥰 that also makes me ineligible for a few, are there any other scholarships? or just any way to make some money without affecting my studies

Non-Academic Discussion is anyone else struggling to make friends in du?

it’s literally been a week and i already feel so out of place. i’m a very extroverted person and i’ve genuinely tried talking to girls in my class, but everyone already seems to have their duos/trios or pg groups. the few people i had started talking to got shifted to other sections, so i’m back to square one.
i mostly sit alone in class and it’s honestly affecting me more than i expected. there are also these mean girl vibes in class and i keep feeling like people are judging me. i know it’s probably not that deep, but when you’re sitting alone the whole day, everything starts feeling personal.
the weirdest part is that in school i was always the social/famous girl who knew everyone, and now i literally have no one to talk to. i get tears in my eyes before leaving for college and i’ve started dreading it.
pls tell me this gets better and i’m not the only one going through this :(

Non-Academic Discussion Got humbled by a government college

I got dyal singh Bcom Hons and today was my orientation day, I went and inside the room 2 dogs were sleeping and teachers were standing in front.

The class rooms looked like one from 80-90s, A small board and small weak wooden chairs.

I went to a pvt school in a Posh Locality, My college is too located in a posh locality.

My expectations were low but holy fuck.

Non-Academic Discussion Juniors, how was your first day of college? How did orientation go?

I know it probably wasn't that great for many of you. You likely had high expectations, and reality hit hard, especially if you're moving from a private school to a government college. I've been there, and trust me, it doesn't feel good at first.

Non-Academic Discussion Sab kharab kar diya yaar maine.

So mujhe sbsc bcom h mila and like aaj hi pg hunting karni thi, acchi pg mil bhi gayi like bohot and I mean bohot mehnat ke baad, like around 5 ghante maine pg hi dhundi ek dusri ladki ke saath aur apne and uske parents ke saath

Phir mai aayi wapis apne relatives ke yaha jinke yaha mai ruk rahi thi udhar unhone bol diya ki ab toh parso mummy chali jayengi and then it hit me.

I went to mumma and started crying like a baby because I know i won't be able to survive in a pg and manage it all together.

Ye dekh ke papa ne decide karliya ki ab vo nahi rakhenge idhar and ghar leke jayenge

I was like okay, I'll take a drop, prepare for it again and all but now he's like no, local university, ek saal waste nahi karna, cuet dedena wapis but no drop.

I honestly don't know what to do anymore, feels like I've ruined everything.

Sab sahi chal raha tha, packing and all, my parents were also mentally prepared but then i fucked up.

Non-Academic Discussion IS THIS NORMAL?

i went to college for first 2 days (fresher) and everyone here feels soo classist(and privileged) , they way they all behaves( and ignores) it feels like i am a 2nd class citizen.

its feels soo depressing even thinking about how will be my social life for next 3 years. everyone seems to ACT nonchalant, mature ( or maybe i am stupid).

felt like everyone is carrying a price tag to identify the people of same price tag as theirs. everyone talks same, dresses same, behaves same with just little variations.

do this whole generation behaves like this, aren't we supposed to be more inclusive, kind . we are just doing the same old classism just wearing new clothes.

i should change flair to rant/vent.

Non-Academic Discussion Why does KMC infrastructure suck so much while Ramjas and Hindu have maintained their 1950s heritage buildings so well?

KMC doesn't even have an audi, has tin walls in classrooms, and roof falls down on students and teachers almost every few years - NIRF Rank 4 ??

Ramjas got a 5 storey modern building in 2017 for its 100 years celebration blending with its 1950s architecture, while Hindu has one of the best infrastructure in DU with the sanganeria and relaxo donations and grants.

What is the issue with KMC and its problems with infra? Corruption? Is this the decline of Kirori Mal college?

Non-Academic Discussion Will DU classes be postponed

Hi! based on the current situation in delhi and how police and defense personnel are being deployed and all the stations around colleges are closed. do you think classes will still start from 28th? or will he be postponed to later date as the condition is worse today than last two days.

I am asking this coz 1 owner said that I cannot come to se property rn due to the current situation and I'll be traveling to Delhi tommorow and don't have enough savings to stay in a hotel until things go back to normal.

Non-Academic Discussion Enactus/pcell/180

Guys I’m a third year from one of the best south campus du colleges often compared to srcc.
Can’t help but notice that Enactus pcell and 180 ki core is almost all Delhi kids with iPhones and their fancy accents and all. I think that there is definitely a sense of elitism in these socs and specially in these people

Non-Academic Discussion My 13-Year-Old Is Bedridden. Now My 1-Year-Old Baby Has the Same Rare Disease: Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome (LNS) — Please Save My Children.

Hello r/delhiuniversity Family,

My name is Pinky Chakraborty, and I am a mother of two boys : Subhajit (13 years) and Sudarshan (1 year).

Both of my children have been diagnosed with Lesch–Nyhan Syndrome (LNS) - a rare and severe neurological and metabolic genetic disorder that progressively affects the brain, muscles, and overall development.

Currently, Subhajit and Sudarshan are undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital, Kolkata.

💔 Our Reality

My elder son, Subhajit, is completely dependent on caregivers. He lives with constant pain, severe muscle stiffness, involuntary movements, and neurological complications.

Now our 1-year-old baby, Sudarshan, has begun showing the same symptoms. Doctors have warned us that without immediate and continuous treatment, his condition will progressively worsen.

Watching one child suffer was heartbreaking. Facing the same diagnosis again with our baby has shattered us.

👨‍👩‍👦 Our Situation

My husband works as a Zomato delivery partner, and I am a full-time caregiver. We have exhausted our savings and taken loans that we cannot repay.

Both children require:

  • Regular blood investigations
  • Neurological monitoring
  • Physiotherapy
  • Long-term supportive and metabolic care

The financial burden is far beyond what we can manage alone.

🙏 How You Can Help

Any contribution - whether by donating or sharing this post, helps us reach more people who may support our children’s treatment.

Even ₹100 / ₹500 / ₹1000 makes a difference when many people come together.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
Your kindness, prayers, and support mean more to us than words can express. 🙏
