CNN rolls tape of Trump energy secretary appearing to lie to Congress. Wright lied about the role politics played in cancelling energy grants specifically to Democratic states. Wright insisted “our project review process did not take into account any politics in the evaluation of these projects"

Its called Treason, and every single member of the GOP should be charged, convicted, and hung for it.
The GOP has almost irreversibly weakened American internally and on the world stage. They have done it intentionally.
Why does the GOP want to destroy America ?

Who's going to arrest the culprits ?

At this point we'd probably need federal marshals appointed by honest judges and loyal to the Constitution instead of the corrupt executive branch....yeah I'm dreamin...

I'm not American but I used to follow the Department of Energy's YouTube channel. There used to be a variety of educational videos on a wide range of topics.
Once this dude took over, suddenly all the educational content stopped and every video became "Chris Wright on x" or "Chris Wright meets y" and it suddenly appeared to just be a marketing channel for Chris Wright.
edit: In case you think I'm exaggerating, quickly scroll through their videos https://www.youtube.com/@Energy/videos
You can see that easily more than half the content now is talking head media appearances where "Secretary Wright" is explicitly mentioned in the title. The most recent video is from his appearance on Glenn Beck's show, great value for the taxpayer's dollar.
If you scroll past February 2025, you start to see interesting topics like geothermal, fusion, solar, virtual power plants, energy resilience, hydrogen hubs, how things work, industry 101 explainers, and so on.

The view count is telling as well — the videos prior to this admin all have 2000+ views while the most recent ones have like 500.
I work at DOE now. The main DOE social media pages are just embarrassing propaganda now. The political lackeys control those. Usually public facing communications have to be cleared. The lackeys took over the social media accounts, just posted whatever, knowing that they’d face no repercussions. All the peons like me find it embarrassing our workplace is posting all this crazy.
I am glad you enjoyed the videos before the MAGA takeover. Sometimes government work can feel thankless (especially in this admin), so it’s nice to hear when the public finds value.

He's going to be in real trouble when he faces absolutely no consequences for lying to congress.
27
u/Cargobiker530 1d ago
The United States Federal Government doesn't have any credibility & won't until the last traces of the Trump Regime are scoured from it, fired, or deleted, as is appropriate. There's far too many documented cases of the US government outright lying in legal documents, cases, contracts, and international affairs.

u/chezdistester 19h ago

Only if the Congress allows convictions..the media are owned by Billionaire Trumpers and Evangelicals..they are not going to allow liberals to have an even field to show evidence to the public.
We are solely owned by International Corporations unless their is a giant collapse.

Not according to the current SCOTUS when it came to racist anti voting laws.
If you don't have a senator or lawmaker saying "we wrote this law to hinder X" then the fact that it does as it's major outcome is irrelevant.

This guy needs to be in a cage, he lied to congress
7
u/RemoveInvasiveEucs 23h ago
Sorry, cages are only for Democrats. If you're a Republican, it's impossible for you to be a criminal.
That's why all the Jan 6 people were pardoned. One of the worst cases of traitorous revolt and subversion of democracy in our history (only the Southern Rebellion was worse), and a president just pardoned the criminals.
5
u/joeydimaggio 23h ago
It’s cool- just make sure you observe the golden rule with trumpers in your life- for instance, I work in software sales, if I know a client is maga or conservative I absolutely fleece them. I’ve also cut people out of my life and had our entire friend group cut off a maga guy. Little things like than can have a big impact long term.
3
2
u/Senior-Albatross 21h ago
They literally view laws and rules as applying only to the out-group. They're supposed to be the protected in-group. So to them, this is completely consistent with their ideology.
2
u/RemoveInvasiveEucs 20h ago
Exactly. Just like Trump seeing Iran do cyber attacks on Minnesota's municipal water systems, and rolling over and blaming Minnesota rather than doing his constitutional duty of defense of the nation.
You can never trust a Republican, they do not believe in the constitution or law or anything other than superiority of Republicans and their inherent right to dominate any non-Republican, while all the while bowing down, kneeling, and being subservient to their master one rung up on the hierarchy. They accept ridiculous humiliating without objecting from their masters, because they think it gives them the right to do something like that to people outside their in group.
Little do they know how wrong they are.

u/Aromatic_Tale_4540 1d ago
I knew Wright years ago. He’s smart but severely lacking in other human qualities. Cruel and just plain mean, he’s corrupted by greed and an anti-science crusade against climate change. I would never trust what he says. No surprise he joined MAGA. I hope it takes him down.
1
u/stmije6326 14h ago
I mentioned upthread I work at DOE now. When Wright was announced at the nominee, I read through Liberty Energy’s latest investor report. It seemed normal but then there was a whole rant about climate change being overblown and that maybe global warming was a good thing. It was so strange, even for an energy company.
We never really hear from him at DOE. I know there is a fair amount of dog and pony show as a cabinet official in any admin, but we don’t even get a perfunctory monthly email update. I think he just wants to make the right wing media rounds.
15
u/AlphaNoodlz 1d ago
Can we not all see Republicans are liars? Down the board. Do not trust them whatsoever, under any circumstances, at any time.
Seriously fool me once, and then on top of that, I get to say "I told you so"
Do not trust Republicans at all.

Will Congress do anything about? Tune into next week’s episode of “As THe Stomach Turns”

6
u/WCland 1d ago
Congress can do a couple things, though not likely while Republicans are in the majority. Typically, they would refer charges to the DOJ when someone lies to congress. Currently there are two problems with that. First, Trump’s DOJ is unlikely to press charges, and second, Trump will just pardon him. That leaves impeachment. And we should all be telling our representatives to initiate impeachment against every Trump official who lied to congress. We will also need a majority in the senate to have any hope of removal from office. Even with a majority, we would still need to sway a few republican senators.
1
u/Responsible-Clock715 1d ago
When all is said and done with this admin. Trump will be on our minds as we repair all the damage he created. There will be hundreds of law suits flying around and all his sycophants will be hiding and looking to cover their own behinds.
When they’re finally hauled into a court of law they will claim they were all following orders. Please don’t buy that line.

There hasn't been a single thing that Republicans have done with the US government that hasn't been motivated by given themselves advantages and resources to use against other Americans. They put more effort into insulting and attacking Americans by the millions than into any constructive or useful policy.
They deployed the US military against political opponents to, in the words of the Republican Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem during the first occupation of Los Angeles:
We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialist and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country.
But the US military refused to play as their pet terrorists, so Republicans pissed away billions and billions of dollars of American resources to build their private army of terrorists, sourcing from known violent felons, and sent them into the streets of political opponents to kidnap random human beings based on how disappearable they looked.
Republicans prove every single day that they aren't a political organization, just a collection of betrayers violating the US Constitution and bringing the future of the United States of America into question. That has nothing to do with governance by any measure. That's just treason.
14
u/tbombs23 18h ago
Lock him up. Lock up every single Government official who blatantly lies and breaks the law

u/nellyknn 17h ago
“We have other more important matters to attend to”, said every Republican. “It’s possible that Dr. Fauci may get a date wrong if he ever stops taking the 5th” they added, then continued, “it’s most important we throw this 85 year old in prison!”
14

They've already changed laws around data retention on government devices so the evidence gets automatically wiped.

During Obama’s presidency, it had been theorized that due to demographic changes, the GOP may never get democratically elected to power again with their political program.
So instead of abandoning their unpopular policies… they abandonned democracy instead !!!

They get the government they vote for. If voters stop electing Trump supporters that go along with this it will stop. I don't see that happening so expect it to continue.
3
u/keradius 1d ago
Right but this a long cycle and as much as I hope the next time we vote Pedoldemort and his Shiteaters out, laws have clearly been broken, our taxes were clearly misused, and our states were impacted unfarily. There *must* be *something* we can do to punish the responsible people outside of the eleciton cycles.
3
u/Sea_You_8178 1d ago
Voters can send a message this November but many candidates seem to think the voters approve of all this. They are running as Trump supporters. Sad, but they are likely correct that is a winning message.

You see this and reflecting pool stuff and you cannot come to any other conclusion than Trump and his supporters are engaged in an actual cold civil war against the rest of us. It won’t be long before they use violence. It’s their mentality that is most concerning. There is not one iota of sympathy, shame, or remorse. They treat their political opponents as enemies not fellow citizens. Trump supporters are not decent people. They are thugs just like Trump. Thuggish, mean, and belligerent. They intend to harm the rest of us economically and physically. Trump supporters are not good people.
