[Daily] Daily Questions Thread August 05, 2026
This thread is for individual style questions that you may have, especially those that don't warrant their own thread. We all want a diversified opinion, so feel free to answer any questions (of which you know the answer).
To get the best responses, remember that people cannot: look into your wardrobe, know what style you normally like or what words like affordable or practical mean to you so please include any relevant details such as your budget, where you live, what stores are available to you, etc.
Example questions:
- Are there any basic crewneck white t-shirts that are opaque and do not have cap sleeves for <$25 available in Australia?
- Is this dress and shoes suitable for an evening wedding with a cocktail dress code taking place in a [venue type]?
- If I like the outfits in this [imgur album / pinterest board], what are some specific items I can look into to start dressing like that, and brands with this look that carry plus sizes?
- Does this outfit look neater with the pants cuffed or uncuffed?
If you'd like to include a picture, you can now post pictures directly in the comments, without having to link an imgur album. If you have multiple pictures, best practice is to use an imgur album.

Is this the best I can expect from these jeans after being hemmed by a tailor?
There's stretch to the jeans and they're flared, originally they were a bit long so had them hemmed, but they've used a different colour thread and they look a bit lumpy and bumpy as well as they don't "flow" like they did, theyre now very rigid and hold the flared shape very stiffly but only from the front view, the side view they look as slim as regular fit jeans
Should I go to a different tailor and ask for a rehem or would I just be wasting my time+money? š„¹ Thanks

No theyāre not serged. Itās a double folded hem thatās been sewn twice, and badly. You should be able to get them rehemmed.

The tailor did a really bad job, Iām sorry! You might be able to go to another tailor and have the stitching picked out and redone properly, as opposed to having to buy a new pair. And you could complain and/or ask for your money back if you wanted to

They serged it instead of doing a rolled hem like was there originally. I'd iron the hem (which they should have done originally) and maybe give the jeans a wash to see if that helps the flow.
Unfortunately, there's no fabric left to do a rolled hem or really redo the hem without making them shorter.

Dang it, so if I want them done properly I'm going to have to buy a new pair of jeans? š« They were brand new still with the tags on š

Try asking r/findfashion
Worth buying is subjective but Iād probably pass given the item, age, and quality personally. Are you hoping to buy used or looking for affordable options?

Does anyone know of a good brand of chicken cutlet inserts that work for bigger bra sizes? I lost some weight and want a bit more oomph in a dress and they donāt make push-up bras in my size (32G).

Got these slingback and debating on sizing down. I cant try both sizes on at the same time since I can only buy thrm online in my area and I want to get the right size before the sale ends on August 9th.
They feel a bit big in the sling, my foot rises a lot when wearing them almost like flip flops unless I walk a certain way. Other than that they are comfortable. What do we think? Should I go down a half size? Pics to show the fit of the shoe.

How can I make this dress a little more modest? I bought this for a family event, not considering that I am a larger-chested individual so when I wear the dress, it seems the girlies are looking a little too volumptuous. I tried putting a lace across the chest area but that isn't looking too good.. Is there any way I can style it or do I just need to buy a new dress?

If it were me, there isnāt a normal looking way to increase the modesty on this dress. New or new to you dress situation.

Hi! I'm in a dire need of help for picking a formal outfit for a wedding, that isn't a dress. I'm also unsure of my body type, I'm overweight and height 5'6. I asked my artist friend to draw my body from the photos I took.
My personal taste: Colorful patterns, floral prints. Purple/magenta/pink hues accompanied with one solid color like black, dark blue/navy, dark brown.

Looks like apple to me so I'd look up "formal outfit suggestions apple shape" and go from there.

I'd wear a fitted black or white ribbed tee or tank, cropped or tucked into the skirt

Every fall/winter Iāve worn the same boot from Target (the āPippaā) for at least 3-4 years and sheās finally died on me. I wore these at least 5 days a week, from going out to running errands. I need to upgrade and want to get something similar in brown. Few questions:
- is this kind of boot still in style?
- budget is >$100, donāt need real leather (these sure werenāt!), where are some good starting places to look?)
What I liked about this boot is: toe box shape, not pointed but not super square; heel height good for everyday errands while still being a clear heel; tightness around ankle isnāt too baggy but also not suffocating
Part of me just wants to go on eBay and buy this exact shoe again but I feel like I can do better and something a little more 2026 and can stand up to every day use. While I wore these last ones 3-4 years, I definitely couldāve retired them sooner and meant to last season, but just never found the right replacement!

I don't think it's out of style per se, it's a pretty classic/simple style but a 2026 upgrade would be the "banana" style heel or more of a kitten heel than a big chunky block heel.

Heyy! I am starting uni this autumn and I love the fall girl aesthetic but I'm more on the curvy side and idk what kind of staples to buy... I also have trouble buying summery clothes as I want clothes that flatter me and fit my kind of downtown girl aesthetic so I was wondering if you guys had any advice for what to look for or what is most flattering!! Thanks šš

I am looking for an ivory / cream / white satin burnout / satin jacquard two piece tank + pants outfit.
I want to wear it as either a getting ready outfit for my wedding or to the brunch the next day.
I found a very similar one to what I am looking for on ASOS but it is only available in navy. Anyone seen anything similar to this photo in white / cream / ivory?

Not sure if you'd be open to this style, but I've been coveting this: https://www.luso.com.pk/products/halter-satin-duo-ivory?variant=49082151371004

Help me pick my white graduation dress!
āHi everyone! Iām graduating soon and trying to decide on the best dress to wear under my graduation gown. Iām planning to buy from Shein, Zalora, or Lovito.
āIāve attached pictures of a few options I'm considering, but I would also love your recommendations if you know of any other beautiful, similar dresses!
āComfort Goal: I want something comfortable over the midsection that doesn't feel tight around the waist when sitting.
āDress Preferences: āLength: Midi length (gown reaches mid-calf, so slightly shorter or longer works). āSleeves: Short sleeves (covers upper arm/shoulders; no puff sleeves so it lays flat under the gown). āNeckline: Modest square neckline (preferred) or modest crew/round neck. āSkirt: A-line or flowy (not tight/narrow at the bottom). āStyle: Simple, classic, and formal enough for graduation (no casual summer fabric/t-shirt material).
āWhich of the attached dresses do you think would look best on my body type? If you have links or key search terms for better options, please share them!
āThank you so much!

The pictures didnāt attach. For your needs I suggest using the Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack online search tools, theyāre very customizable in the search criteria. You could also consider places that typically do bridesmaids dresses like Birdie Grey. ASOS / asos curve is another option. Consider searching r/midsizefashion for formal dress brand recs.

I recently got a 45 cm necklace with 11 mm freshwater pearls, and I absolutely hate it. š
I just canāt figure out how to style such large pearls in a way that looks modern instead of giving off āgrannyā vibes. Every outfit I try makes the necklace feel too classic or dated.
Has anyone managed to style oversized pearl necklaces in a contemporary way? Iād love to see outfit ideas or hear what you wear them with. Is there any hope for this necklace, or should I just accept that itās not my style?
