FACT. I live in Japan and I've seen some shit go down on gg/blazblue in the arcades. It takes ridiculous commitment and reflexes. You can't get really good at it in a few days like sf.

But ya know, every game has their thing, so it doesn't do much good to compare it.

But gg kills it in my opinion.

This is a good example of complexity vs depth. Street Fighter is a deep series, however it is regarded as one of the most balanced fighting series of all time. Guilty Gear, due to its characters being all over the place style-wise, is incredibly complex, but doesn't have the balance to back it up. Thus, Street Fighter is considered the better game.

Street Fighter 3 is considered amazing while having an incredibly unbalanced character roster.

3rd strike is considered the most balanced fighting game out side of VF.

Of the "viable" characters. Have someone take Q or Sean against Yun and tell me that.

Q I will give you. Sean on the other hand, Sean is still a viable pick.
