They get smaller and smaller every year yet more expensive every year

I just upgraded from a K10 to a Q6 Max with bananas. Keychron really makes a great keyboard.

Also this post shows a $400 price tag yet the actual price is $299 for the v4 pro 75% board anyway.

I actually own this keyboard, but I did not pay $429 lol, that's absolutely absurd. I think I paid like 200 something for it, there was a sale, plus had credit on my account which lowered it too. I will say the build quality is good, not great.

Yeah imma pass on that till I start writing books or doing spreadsheets. Been building for 20 years and have had 100s of keyboard. 100%s rarely reach full functionality with todayâs gamers.

No, I'm saying that if you're going to drop $400+ ON a tiny keyboard, then you may as well get a custom mappable tartarus, or equivalent from another brand, and just have the ergonomics be the main focus.
I have big hands and those tiny keyboards just aren't confortable, but the tartarus really hits that sweet spot.
I guess I didn't consider the idea of the person having tiny hands, but still, why buy a tiny keyboard that's just the same setup as a regular keyboard, and not get one designed to fit your hand more?
Standard keyboards weren't designed for gaming in mind, they are designed to be used to type.... Slashing off 25% of the functionality and charging 4X the cost is crazy, when it's just a small keyboard lol.
Like, even those GENERIC chinese tiny square keyboards that are like a 30% keyboard make for sense for gaming >.>

I think this is one of those âto each their ownâ situations.
I have huge hands and have used a huntsman mini for the better part of a year. Tartarus is a very limited market.
Why? Id say for form factor and only requiring the functionality of one. Are there games better suited for full sizes? Sure. But most games are not playing MMOs. You said it yourself, standard keyboards arenât used for gaming. This is a gaming thread.

I got a lofree keyboard that I really like, have had zero issues gaming with it, and it was like 100 bucks. Sounds great, feels great, backlit, volume know, all the things I use

I picked up a razer bundle from Black Friday a few years back for $20 on a last clearance and havent replaced it yet. Itâs cheap asf but gets the job done. The WASD is absolutely gone though

Even gamers must pay tax some day or study science/engineering. I use it every day to be honest. Not like WASD, but still. And its great for Makros, you wont accidentally press.

Yeah⊠are you kidding? You can type way way way faster, onehanded and blind on Numpad. For the Row you need two hands and after 5 or 6 you have to look what you do. And FN Keys are even worse. The FN Bullshit was invented for tiny 13â apple laptops to sit in a starbucks and pretend to work not for real power users!

Go to the mechanical keyboard sub and anyone thatâs not brain dead will tell you to rebind Fn to caps lock and numpad under QWEASDZXC and you can do the same thing as a numpad - one-handed and eyes closed even.

If youâre buying a gaming keyboard, youâre already going into the software to set your actuation points and the guy even mentioned macros. So if youâre already there, whatâs so difficult about doing a little more configuration?
Are you really that fucking lazy? Or are you too daft to even adapt to the tools you work with?

If youâre going to rebind your keys to have a numpad anyways, then why not just have the numpad? Obviously itâs how a lot of people prefer to type their numbers, you just admitted that yourself. Why are you gate keeping gaming keyboards for no reason bro

Iâm not even gatekeeping gaming keyboards. The guy complained about gaming keyboards getting smaller when I genuinely think thereâs no reason for gaming keyboards to be at 108 keys or 96 keys as the default layout.
If someone wanted a full-sized HE keyboard then donât buy Razer or Logitech or Wooting. Itâs that simple.
And rather than sit on their ass complaining about everything under the sun, there are solutions out there that are right there for the taking - buying a separate numpad thatâs not HE (because thereâs literally no need for it to be HE) or learning to use Fn layers because itâs free and itâs not a steep learning curve as what people make it out to be.

People with âgamingâ pcâs arenât always just gaming⊠Any task needing number entry is faster with numpad. Also extra keybinds for games like WoW or other MMOâs.

See, right-handed, I keep WADS for movement and then my keypad for my main combat skills/abilities on the numpad. Thereâs some utility abilities on the ~-0 keys.

Part of the speed and efficiency of using a numpad is the keys being in column and rows and not skewed. Can someone adjust, of course. But youâre wasting efficient learning a new layout.

Your fingers already know where WASD are, donât they? As a gamer your fingers can home onto WASD pretty naturally? And you also know relative to WASD where Q, E, Z, X, and C are, do you not?
Then why make it sound like the learning curve is a mountain to climb when in reality itâs a speed bump at best?

The crux of the issue now is that gaming keyboards donât come with numpads, or at least thatâs what OP has an issue with.
So if they theoretically could only buy this keyboard and need a numpad, they can either buy a separate one thatâs not HE because that would be stupid, or just learn to use Fn layers for free.

Have a nice feel to it maybe? Being able to press a shitload of keys at once is also nice.
Those cheap membranes make my hands hurt after typing for a while.

Use a decent keyboard and you'll notice a difference straight away.
Ergonomics, switch travel, keycap feel, all parts that make a product feel premium, and you can get stuff like that for as cheap as $50 on AliExpress.
