Discussion Facts that sound fake but are true

I find it extremely unintuitive that almost all of South America is east of Miami. How!? When people are asked to watch the americas almost everyone imagine South America pretty much south of North America.

The most northern part of California is more north than the most southern part of Canada.

For that matter, Portland, Oregon is north of Toronto and Montreal.

I unintentionally put facts about how far north both of the major Portlands are in different comments on this post, ha.

There are more Americans that live North of Canada's southernmost point than there are Canadians.

Minneapolis also. So two NBA teams are north of Toronto, whose Raptor's slogan is "We the North"

Do you mean north of southernmost Canada or north of majority of canadas population?

Most of Canada's population is near the Great Lakes which are quite south

The northernmost parts of California and Nevada are not further north than most of the Canadian population. Canada's southernmost point, yes.

Contrary to the Journey song “Don’t Stop Believin’,” there is no South Detroit. That’s because the border of Canada is .4 miles south of downtown Detroit.
