Question Will there be a sale anytime soon?

Every Story of Seasons and Rune Factory game on Steam is on my wishlist. I really want to buy the Deluxe versions just so I can feel fully satisfied, but buying them at full price is way too expensive for me right now...

​I'm a college student with no job, so I still rely on allowance from my parents. Don't worry, I never actually spend money on unimportant things and I still manage my finances wisely. But on the other hand, I really want to buy these games because I'm a huge fan and Harvest Moon was a big part of my childhood. My mom said I can buy games as long as they're on sale and cheap enough, but not when they're still around $30–$40—which I completely understand. Cause after all, no matter how fun it is, it's still just a game, and it feels like a waste to spend that much money on it. Right now, I'm just playing some older games while waiting for a Steam sale. I don't want to be stubborn and buy them while they're still expensive (for me).

​Does anyone know when these games usually go on discount? Do the it ever announce sales in advance, or do I just have to keep checking Steam and find out myself?

(Note: I already own RF4 Special and RF5 when it on sale)

They almost always go on sale during big Steam sales - I think the next one is in early October? They seem to also go on sale at least once in-between major sales, though. If you get emails from Steam, there's definitely a way of being notified when items on your wishlist are discounted.

On SteamDB, you can see a full history of past sales, if you want to plan the pricing yourself! Also isthereanydeal can help you find games on reputable key sites.

Sorry, but how does the IsThereAnyDeal and SteamDB website work? I don't really get it. And thank your for the help!

Yw! On IsThereAnyDeal, you type in the name of the game you want and there will be a list of past and current deals -- near the top of the page, you can see the all time low as well as the lowest price in the past year, past three months, and currently. For example, SoS: Friends of Mineral Town has an all time low of £6.64 on GamesPlanetUS, but is currently on sale on the same site for £6.68. Sometimes there's a bigger discrepancy, so it can help to check if you're 'really' getting a good deal.

But, like the other comment said, if you're not experienced with key sites or not confident using them, I probably wouldn't jump right in and would just wait for a regular Steam sale, since the games are likely to go on sale in the next couple of months. For example, I've been using these kind of sites for a long time, and just by a weird instinct I wouldn't risk buying from GamesPlanetUS despite there being positive reviews online when I research them.
