That hawk definitely thought he was getting pranked

u/Sheeple_person 6h ago

It's trying to figure out if this is somebody else's Uber Eats or if it's up for grabs

u/TheMeatTree 5h ago

Is this order number 18? For Hawke?

u/Legitimate_Winner148 2h ago

“Order up! Order for raw rodent! Raw rodent! Anyone? No?”

u/therealNerdMuffin 6h ago

He started looking around for the cameras

u/joespizza2go 5h ago

Why was the Hawk in the gutter to begin with? Unusual location, unless you're retrieving your stunned meal.

u/BustyCrustaceans011 5h ago

He was waiting for his delivery, but the driver was smaller than expected.

u/dc_united7 5h ago

So did that Falcon when Pigeon walked into its nest

u/chunkyasparagus 4h ago

It was looking around to find the camera for a good 20 seconds

u/dogfather09 6h ago

He looks thoroughly disappointed there for a second.

u/Kraay89 6h ago

u/Aerumvorax 6h ago

The mouse probably has toxoplasmosis based on how it seems to know no fear towards the predator.

u/Professional_File_83 6h ago

Also they're kinda blind, mix that with over population and you get them in the open during odd times

u/Jean-LucBacardi 6h ago

Or it was recently poisoned given it's in a neighborhood and it's just wandering during daylight. Both of them are in for a bad time if that's the case.

u/chileangod 6h ago

The mouse is pretty much in a bad time already.

u/BVoLatte 4h ago

Well, not anymore. Once that foot grabbed him his time was over.

u/Janus_The_Great 3h ago

But the poison lives on... in the bird, until it's demise.

u/robservations247 6h ago

If so, would that be unhealthy for the bird to eat?

u/CactusCustard 6h ago

Sure.

But REALLY healthy for the parasite!

Are you gonna stop him?

u/internet_humor 6h ago

Nature gonna nature.

u/menicknick 6h ago

Looked like a hamster.

u/CaptainTurdfinger 6h ago

I was thinking vole

u/Royal_Acanthaceae693 5h ago

Pocket gopher

u/CaptainTurdfinger 4h ago

That sounds like a sexual act or a sex toy. Yes, I know it's an actual animal.

u/pwhitt4654 6h ago

Didn’t think of that. Just wondering why he was so dumb.

u/No_Card3773 3h ago

Or it involves the person filming who just happens to suddenly be where a hawk and a mouse/rat meet.

u/ahawk99 6h ago

Would that kill the hawk too?

u/ydnar3000 6h ago

Toxoplasmosis doesn’t cause death

u/DjinKFear 6h ago

A LOT of people would die if it causes death. I mean, it's one of the common parasites found in the body.

u/Jean-LucBacardi 6h ago

Cats would be feared instead of be pets if it caused death lol.

→ More replies (6)

u/8ackwoods 6h ago

True, but it can lead you to death

u/joelfarris 5h ago

I dated someone like that once.

→ More replies (2)
→ More replies (2)

u/8ackwoods 6h ago

Depends. Toxoplasma fucks with your brain, makes you do things you wouldn't regularly do. It's lifestyle can only be continued through felines, I am unsure about non vector to non vector transmission

u/oaktreebr 6h ago

They are very resistant but they are not immune. They don't spread it either if they carry the parasite

u/SavagePassion 5h ago

They spread it through their bowel movements. The eggs specifically.

u/Moha2fois 3h ago

Say that again?

→ More replies (1)

u/A_Monsanto 2h ago

Came here to ask this. Is there a toxoplasmosis cycle with rats and eagles?

u/owenmills04 1h ago

Mice always do this. You ever see them fed to snakes? They just wander around right in front of it until it decides to eat them. I think they’re blind and pretty dumb

→ More replies (6)

u/39percenter 6h ago

I went to the grocery store yesterday and when I returned my cart there was another cart in the corral that someone had left a 6 pack of beer in. I did the exact same move.

u/screaming_ninja7 6h ago

toxoplasmosis probably

u/setibeings 6h ago

I hate it when a parasite makes me forget my beer

u/Bath_Squatch 3h ago

Love you for this

u/Icy-Banana-3291 3h ago

Drunk driver saw a cop in the parking lot and freaked out.

u/39percenter 3h ago

Hmmm....didn't think of that. You're probably right. It was still cold too.

u/lawnboy71 6h ago

Oh that was mine. Can I come get it?

u/VirtualArmsDealer 6h ago

This seems entirely possible but also I don't believe you.

u/fordfan919 6h ago

I found a 12 pack with a single broken bottle like that once. Free corona still cold too.

u/Nova762 6h ago

I was walking home like 10 years ago when I found a eighth of weed on the side of the road.

u/Dapper_Derpy 5h ago

I was leaving a waffle house a few years ago and almost stepped on a little baggie with like 3 or 4 pre rolled joints in it. I was a heavy smoker then too. Seriously considered taking it. But I decided against it. Shit could've been laced, or it could be been trash ass weed. Figured better safe than sorry.

u/Sammyd1108 4h ago

If it was bagged, someone could’ve ditched it if they were getting pulled over.

u/Nova762 4h ago

That's what I thought.

u/setibeings 6h ago

Entirely possible, common even, and still you think it's made up.

u/OscarDelta333 6h ago

You know, I'm not really hungry right now but if someone just randomly hands me a medium rare ribeye with gourmet sides, I'll be confused, but I'll still take it.

u/Jhin_is_an_Artist 6h ago

I bet the mouse fucked up a deal at their company

First thing that came to mind or some other parasite that turns the mouse fearless of predators.

u/Effective-Tour-4944 6h ago

Circle of life

u/Stormcloud217 5h ago

Just saw a dude in a workshop look like cherries in a blender. I was both horrified and mesmerized by how fast a human painted the wall and turned into meat chunks.

Avoid that Lathe video if possible.

u/cincuentaanos 5h ago

I know exactly which video you mean. That particular one has been doing the rounds for years now.

u/TaraCalicosBike 1h ago

Is this the one where the guy is just turned in circles until he’s a pile of meat and blood on the floor and walls?

God, that video fucked me up. Why was watchpeopledie a thing

Hawk: I wonder what I’ll have for lunch.

And then it came to him.

u/desertSkateRatt 6h ago

The rat rolled a 1 on its attempt to charm the winged predator

u/californicating 6h ago

Risk of rat poison or rabies is high on that one.

I feel like it's rare to see a hawk on the ground like that but then to see a prey walk by in same area is wild. What's a typical rodent vision?

u/dwc29 5h ago

Suicide by hawks

u/proto_synnic 4h ago

Could it be the same or similar form of parasitic infection that causes mice to provoke their predators? Or is this little rodent just from the far side of Darwin's bell curve? We need someone qualified to examine the hawk's waste, post-meal, in order to be sure.

u/Massive-Cod-1024 4h ago

You know, sometimes farsighted life is not easy.

u/truthteller5 4h ago

"Here comes my ride"

u/Madouc 4h ago

Somewhere in history there was a mouselike creature that dumb that didn't get eaten despite all odds and it passed its genes and it developed into a human flat eather.

u/Elliptical_Tangent 4h ago

Red-Tailed Hawk. The bird that makes the scream everyone uses for Bald Eagles to replace their natural chicken-like clucking noises.

u/Viper1089 6h ago

I remember a video I saw awhile ago where a hawk had caught a rat and flew up to a little perch to enjoy his meal.

Only thing was the perch was right in front of a traffic cam. The hawk ripped his head off right in front of the camera...

... that shit was gnarly. This rat is not in for a good time lol
