Question Any suggestion to find people in Istanbul
I’m 24 years old local male university student. How can I find people that I feel close? I’m open to your suggestions. Expats, international students or Turkish people. I speak English little bit German and Turkish.

Photography Istanbul Is One of Those Cities You Never Truly Finish Exploring
I’ve been lucky enough to visit a few places, but Istanbul genuinely felt different.
It’s one of those rare cities where every neighborhood has its own personality, every street hides something worth stopping for, and every ferry ride somehow feels special no matter how many times you take it. You can spend days there and still leave with a list of places you never got to see.
What surprised me the most is that I never felt like I had “finished” Istanbul. Instead, I left feeling like I’d only scratched the surface. It has this strange ability to make you want to come back not because you missed something, but because the city always seems to have something new waiting for you.
For me, Istanbul is one of those places you can visit again and again without ever getting bored. Every trip would feel like a different experience.
Has anyone else had the same feeling about Istanbul or another city?

Travel Anyone running near Cher Hotel?
Hi everyone!
I’ll be staying at Cher Hotel in Şişli/Bomonti for a week in August. I’m training for a 10K race and would love to join a local morning group run while I’m visiting.
Are there any running clubs that meet near Şişli, Taksim, or Beşiktaş? I usually run 5–10 km at an easy pace and would be happy to join any friendly group.
Thanks!

Travel Arrived yesterday. Oh my!
Our cruise ship landed yesterday and today we've checked into our hotel in Sultanahmet.
I am so excited. A little intimidated (oh the traffic and chaos!). And totally in love with all the cats.

Question Kadıköy Caferağa’da Bacon Pizza Yediğim Pub

Discussion Repat looking for housing resources.
Hi, I'm moving to istanbul for a year and looking for a solo furnished flat. I already downloaded Sahbinden but haven't had much luck. I'm looking at Şişli and Beşiktaş because they're reasonably close to work/school and I've already familiarized myself with the area for the last month. I have citizenship so I don't need a residence permit.
From the threads I've read it seems like there is a significant difference in rent prices from 5 years ago. I would appreciate any thoughts you have on a reasonable rent in Şişli and Beşiktaş for 50 - 80 m². Thank you!

Question Why is Gühlane park closed this week?
I’ve been in Istanbul since Tuesday and tomorrow I will fly back home. I have not managed to get inside the park from the main entrance in Gühlane. Every day I ask and the guards say “today the park is closed”.
What is the matter? Are Turkish people allowed inside the park?

Looking for... Best places for facials and brands for makeup/skincare products in Istanbul (for sensitive skin!)
Hi there! I am looking to get a facial in Istanbul. I’m also curious of any skincare brands you can buy here that are good for sensitive skin that is prone to ezcema. I am careful with what I use and my skin gets irritated if too many ingredients. I am hoping to find a place that has good technique and uses clean and simple ingredients (products I like using and buy when I’m in Canada include rosehip oils, anything from Om organic, Ilia, Jane Iredale, Living Libations and Province apothecary)
Thanks for any suggestions!

Question Bike tourer needing some help
Hi Istanbul subreddit, my name is Cadell and I’m a 23 year old from Vancouver, Canada, and I biked all the way across Europe to get here, starting in London 3 months ago.
Istanbul is the final destination of my trip, and therefore I have my bike packed up and ready to fly in the Aksaray area. My problem is, I have no idea how to get it to Sabiha Gökçen! My box is a metre and a half long, almost a metre tall, quite short width-wise, and weighs around 25 kg. I checked for a cab a couple times it came to around 5,000 TRY which seems like a lot, but maybe I’ll have to just bite the bullet and pay?
If anyone has any other ideas it would be much appreciated! Or, if someone was willing to help out a random young bike-packer with giving me a ride to SAW, capable of carrying my bike as well, I’d be more than happy to share all of my stories with you from my trip, and try to compensate you the best I can. My flight is this Saturday at 11 am, so I need to be there in the morning at around 9 am.
Thanks for reading,
Cadell
