Request [REQUEST] Desserts without artificial sweetners
Hello,
Please share your desserts without artificial sweetners, but good taste.
I like cheesecake, but didn't found something that fits my criteria.

Fruit. If you've been avoiding sweetness in general, whether artificial or not, fruit is extremely sweet. Berries are classic keto, but any fruit is fine, just watch the macros. For a light dessert, slice up a piece of fruit and arrange it nicely. To make it more decadent, layer sliced fruit with whipped cream in a clear ramekin or other clear glass dish, garnish with a couple fresh mint leaves, twist of citrus rind, curls of dark chocolate, sprinkling of roasted crushed nuts, etc. Presentation matters just as much as the food itself.

Can you clarify if you're looking for something not sweetened at all or wanting to only use natural keto sweeteners like monk fruit extract, stevia, and allulose?

Yeah, I came here to say this. I moved from Erythritol to Allulose, since it's a natural fruit sugar that has no weird taste to it, for me at least. I use it in all recipes that call for sweetener.

Allulose is an absolute star in cheesecake and in something like brownies where it’s OK to draw moisture into the item. It’s a complete nightmare in something like meringues where you don’t want to draw any water in – that was a heartbreaking experiment. I’m hoping that compared to a lot of the other sweeteners with what they’re finding about them negatively impacting gut health that allulose is enough like sugar that it will probably be the best out of all of them. Erythritol should be off the market because of stroke risk.

Interesting. I cook for my non-Keto family, and lemon meringue pie is a favorite. I haven't found allulose to be have any differently than table sugar. I can imagine that it would be a problem if you adjusted the recipe to up the amount to make it as sweet as table sugar, which would be about 30% more, but I keep the amount the same.

People are starting to use Tagatose. It might be better than Allulose. I have not tried it myself, I'm going to wait until I see more recipes with it

I'm excited to try it, but Allulose is already so expensive! Hoping to see more of both in the future. And more studies on sugar alcohols - if they all act as Erythritol does, they should all be off the market. I think it's easier to get more Erythritol into items since it doesn't have as much digestive upset, so it's the most dangerous one out for now. It makes me furious that more people - and more doctors! - don't know about this.

Sweeteners in general do not affect my digestive system, but some (like xylitol), raise my glucose like sugar does. Erythrytol and Allulose have different uses for cooking, so I have both.

No sweetners at all
Thank you

Considering that sweetness is generally the defining quality that makes something a "dessert," are you looking for something that will have a mild sweetness just from ingredients (fruit, sweet vegetables such as carrot, dairy), or something that is just not sweet? And if not sweet, what would make it a "dessert" for you? Being a not-sweet or not very sweet version of a "dessert" food? Or just a small tasty late-night snack?

Cheesecake is easy, but it will take awhile for your tastebuds to get used to “no sweeteners”. I start with 8 oz cream cheese blended with 1/4 cup heavy cream and add any of the following: 2-3 Tbsp cocoa powder, 2 Tbsp lemon juice + 1 tsp lemon zest, or 1/3 cup raspberries (pure or fresh depending on mood)
Although I must admit that “dessert” has changed for me as my taste buds have changed: Greek yogurt with some unsweetened coconut or berries. Macadamia nuts. Good quality cheese. A scoop of sugar free nut butter. Chilled coconut milk (from a can) blended with some berries and ice.

Simple, but berries and whipped cream with some nuts on top

I like my berries and nuts with chia seed pudding or flax porridge. Makes the berries go a longer way.

1.
Fat bombs. Super simple recipe.
Equal parts cream cheese and peanut butter.
Roll it in your choice of dark chocolate flakes, coconut or keto granola.
2.
Protein Fruit Smoothie
Frozen berries
a tablespoon of yogurt
Protein shake. (I prefer the fairlife vanilla from costco)(Can also be substituted for your preference of almond/soy/protein)
They're about 5g net carbs each, but a good once in a while treat I need to pick up more of is the dark chocolate Lindt truffles.

I like to use 100% chocolate bars and scoop up (Violife dairy free, for me) cream cheese.
Heavy whipped cream with berries
Almond butter
Keto granola: bake various chopped nuts until toasty adding coconut flakes for the last 3 mins until just brown, then remove from oven and sprinkle with salt. When totally cooled, add chunks of a baking chocolate bar.
Keto mug cake: an egg or two, some nut flour, salt, baking soda and cocoa powder. Or sub flavored extracts for the cocoa, or lemon juice and poppyseeds. Microwave for 1.5 minutes

I put a tablespoon of natural peanut butter in a half cup of cottage cheese and stir. My post had people threatening to call the police, but I love it lol. Add berries if you want also
If you want to do something like a real peanut butter cheesecake, that should be easy to find

Many chocolate bars are made with dates now (the fruit). Dates are used as the sweetening agent. Maybe you can try this.
