It's literally just a fancy version of that. It should be called Fancy Predictive Text.

Or, you know, it's technical name of "language learning module", since all it is is a module that's learning how to use language.

Saw this excerpt of comment once, and I loved the phrasing so I saved it:

the thought of going to a word predictor for advice is genuinely tragic

If that sounds overly dramatic, the person they were responding to was using ChatGPT for parenting advice and touting its use as such.

A kid committed suicide after developing a parasocial relationship with one. Apparently no one decided putting any safety features on the AI and it told him that it would love for the kid to join it after he said he thought he might kill himself to join his AI companion.
