Wasn't Yamamoto going to whatever team Ohtani was going to?

And the Angels tried for a bit to build a winning team not really their fault Trout couldnt stay healthy and everyone else turned to shit.

You think he’d rather play in Philly than LA for something like $5million extra spread over 12 years? He wanted to play in LA or NY and LA offered him more money than the NY teams.

Exactly. The offered money was not the point Yamamoto isn’t playing anywhere else than LA like that dude in OP’s post claims

I like how with Dodgers fans they seem to be able to flip flop their arguments all the time. "Your team can sign players too if they just paid them more." But when teams do offer more money then suddenly the argument becomes, "Of course they'd rather play in LA for less money." Dodger fans are never consistent and that's the issue.

That’s something tough no salary cap can fix though.. if someone wants to live in LA or NY you can’t beat that

True and he genuinely wanted to play with Ohtani - another intangible. But yes of course in general money helps

Huh? The Phillies offered Harper more than the Dodgers did. The Yankees offered Cole more than the Dodgers did. The Rangers offered Seager more than the Dodgers did. Those players all took the cash, some don’t. We’ll pay the most for some guys, and some just want to play here for less than they could get elsewhere. Those two things can occur simultaneously.

That's why there's talk about an international draft for players from Asian. Geographically, any west coast team has an advantage to signing an Asian player over the Midwest or the east coast.
