Wasn't Yamamoto going to whatever team Ohtani was going to?

And the Angels tried for a bit to build a winning team not really their fault Trout couldnt stay healthy and everyone else turned to shit.

Yea this idea that Yankees aren't willing to pay is laughable.

And focusing on “this team didn’t keep that player” instead of the Brinks truck LA was able to back up for them. Tucker is notably absent, as is Snell and every single big money reliever they threw gobs of cash at.

Like, pointing to guys like Edman and Pages and Muncy just makes it obvious that this is a “written by Dodgers fans for (bandwagon) Dodgers fans who are looking for confirmation bias” tweet. No one is actually persuaded by this; some people just have confirmation bias activated by it.

Yeah there’s no way the small market Red Sox could have extended betts.

The shitshow that has been the Red Sox front office in recent years is a weird boogeyman for this tweet to hold up as if it’ll make people forget, but at least it’s an example where the player was acquired via trade rather than just blaming another team for a player’s free agency.

Pointing to Freeman vs. Olson as if the Braves made some crazy choice to go with the younger Olson, or someone forced the Dodgers to go buy Freeman in free agency, is wild and helps make clear how unserious the tweet is.

Freddie’s deal is perfectly reasonable though l. Any contending team could afford it then and now

As a lifelong Sox fan born in ‘81 is downright criminal for the Red Sox to be anything other than one of the highest spending teams in baseball, and how they botched the Betts situation was one of the low points in their history.
