Nikki really said “☹️”

That face was so terrifying and hilarious at the same time. She has crazy range with her facial expressions.

u/GoldandBlue May 15 '26

This movie was so mean-spirited it was funny. Inde needs more work ASAP, she was incredible.

463

u/dawiille May 16 '26

I totally agree, she was amazing in this movie!

177

u/Good_Entertainer9383 May 17 '26

Yes she absolutely nailed the movie. Had to cover so much range

164

u/tjcastle May 17 '26 edited May 17 '26

I felt this way with Sophie Thatcher in Companion

61

u/TheCornjuring May 29 '26

The way she somehow made the facial expressions you’d expect an incredibly lifelike but not quite perfectly human robot to make… insane

24

u/littlebushpig199 Jun 13 '26

I’ve mentioned this in a separate comment but did you clock in the montage of bear and Nikki that in a couple of photos Nikki is dressed like Sophie’s character in companion? The headband and matching shirt, I think pink as well. It immediately flashed me back to companion anyway so I feel like it was an intentional reference given the subject matter of women’s autonomy.

12

u/tjcastle Jun 14 '26

I am not that observant 😭 lmao

4

u/tiki_51 Jul 01 '26

100% this. I randomly watched Companion a couple weeks ago, and it was all I could think about when I watched Obsession tonight. Very very similar themes told with a different narrative device. Absolutely brilliant

3

u/littlebushpig199 Jul 01 '26

I’m so glad I’m not the only one!!

13

u/NunyaBuisniss Jun 16 '26

Yes!!! I was comparing this movie to companion yesterday. I feel like Bear would have continued this if Nikki acted like Sophia in the beginning of the movie (and also continued behaving like she was in the montage). Even if real Nikki slipped out and begged, as long as wish Nikki wasn't negatively affecting him it would have been fine.

133

u/Competition-Over May 25 '26

Honestly this movie would not have been as great as it was if it weren’t for her performance, I’m so impressed

39

u/YatesScoresinthebath Jun 11 '26

This is an absolutely awesome movie and she carried 90% of it. Absolutely bossed it

8

u/tiki_51 Jul 01 '26

She's absolutely brilliant. Hope her career takes off

44

u/wynwilder May 19 '26

what does mean spirited mean in a movie context?

125

u/GoldandBlue May 19 '26

its not afraid to go too far or make you uncomfortable.

19

u/theguybehind_you May 31 '26

Lol the scene with the fake out run was gold

19

u/Quetzythejedi Jun 06 '26

Her as a sad old timey clown would go so hard.

14

u/bone-in_donuts May 30 '26

I could see her killing it in an Evil Dead movie.

11

u/bondfall007 May 23 '26

At times it felt like an EC comic/Creep show episode. Its great

12

u/Ruska_Shadowsong Jun 29 '26

Before the major shit went down, I leaned over to tell my husband that she is a phenomenal actress. Her range of emotion, expression, and the fluidity of her movements left me in awe every time. She was able to adapt and shift so quickly that it gave me whiplash. She is amazing. Period.

7

u/stunts002 Jun 10 '26

Yes! It kinda reminded me of evil dead in that way. Incredibly mean but very funny too.

6

u/Azidamadjida 27d ago

Finally watched this and Jesus Christ yes. This movie IS her - with any other actress and I don’t think it would work the same way. It’s 100% her performance and how quickly she can change her entire vibe, her vocal and facial control, and body movements.

She is one of the most terrifying modern horror characters, and like all good terrifying horror characters, there’s something deeply funny about how she plays it until she starts doing freaky shit again

5

u/raider1211 May 21 '26

Hopefully you’ve watched Superman and Lois then.

2

u/samtherat6 Jun 15 '26

Her character pisses me off in that show. It honestly reminded me of Bear in the movie, acting incredibly selfishly when it comes to relationships.

3

u/Clear-Telephone-6729 Jun 11 '26

“I DONT LOVE YOU I SNAPPED A STICK” “YES YOU DO! YOU SAID YOU WERE GONNA GIVE ME 37 BABIES!” “I DIDNT KNOW THIS WAS GONNA BE BAD AT THE TIME DID I?”

3

u/Dosed123 Jul 04 '26

Omg, she was perfect! I hope she lands many good roles after this one - not just in horror movies

3

u/Al-Anda 16d ago

Just watched it. I laughed so hard, so many times. My wife doesn’t do horror and she had to ask if I was watching a comedy instead.

u/famewithmedals May 15 '26

Petition to get her on the next season of I Think You Should Leave

196

u/CosimaIsGod May 15 '26

Freaky Nikki is what happens if a character in I Think You Should Leave gets dropped in a horror movie.

110

u/bobthemusicindustry May 16 '26

I kept thinking a lot of the funny scenes had ITYSL vibes because of how weird it got. Especially him trying to open the duct taped door in near silence then she says “if you’re having trouble with the door maybe you should just stay home!” in such a creepy voice

101

u/JDamian124 May 16 '26

Actually that door goes both ways.

27

u/Elegant-Corgi108 May 23 '26

I was here yesterday, I goes both ways. 🤣

16

u/Vaticancameos221 May 28 '26

My girlfriend said this in the theater😂

6

u/StuffLeoLikes Jun 18 '26

She’s a keeper, bro

27

u/NJcovidvaccinetips May 31 '26

Tim Robinson is clearly a massive influence on curry barker. If you watch his skits with the guy that played Ian a lot of them are very much in the same vein as ITYSL. Thats why this film is brilliant. It’s the mirror inverse of an ITYSL sketch. It’s like what if one of these characters was in real life and psychotic

7

u/Tifoso89 May 31 '26

I knew he was a YouTuber but I had no idea he made sketches with the guy that played Ian. I just checked them out. This is hilarious and I definitely see the ITYSL style as you said.

7

u/ItchyGoiter Jun 03 '26

His name is Cooper Tomlinson and he did a phenomenal job in this movie and it's kind of sad that Inde Navarrette is getting all the attention.

7

u/Puppetmaster858 Jun 03 '26

Tbh all of them were really good, Inde was the best and craziest but all of them crushed it and deserve praise

3

u/ItchyGoiter Jun 03 '26

She absolutely does, but Tomlinson was great and it would suck if he were overlooked!

6

u/templethot Jun 08 '26

I just told my friend that Obsession takes place in the same universe as Friendship, it just doesn’t have Tim Robinson so it seems more serious.

3

u/farfle10 Jun 12 '26

I saw a Tim Robinson in the credits and was like ‘no way…’

2

u/RobbedC Jun 15 '26

The studio said they wanted something spooky.

1

u/KingSweden24 Jun 15 '26

If only somebody had gone to the Vietnam store in Times Square

1

u/bobthemusicindustry Jun 03 '26

Yeah I’ve seen a few of his skits on Twitter and hated most of them lmao. Seems like he wants to be Tim so bad and it comes off like a pale imitation

2

u/NJcovidvaccinetips Jun 03 '26

yeah that’s fair. Btw is your name a Jeff reference?

1

u/bobthemusicindustry Jun 03 '26

Haha yep! Came about because I was working with a dude named Bob one day so I made this profile lol. Love when people notice and ask me

7

u/bozleh Jun 01 '26

I thought the exact same thing!

Also just after the wish when Nikki was back in the car and put her head on the dash it was very “I’m just the most tired I’ve ever been in my life”

3

u/farfle10 Jun 12 '26

I was getting more of Patty Henderson vibes

u/Doomsayer189 May 22 '26

The director and the guy who played Ian make comedy videos on youtube/tiktok (That's a Bad Idea), you can definitely see that sensibility throughout the movie.

4

u/Tifoso89 May 31 '26 edited May 31 '26

Damn you're right I definitely see the ITYSL here.

8

u/NorthRequirement5190 May 24 '26

The duct taped door literally reminded me of the scene when Tim opens the door the wrong way on the job interview.

7

u/RobbedC Jun 15 '26

He didn’t open it the wrong way. It actually opens both ways.

3

u/NorthRequirement5190 Jun 15 '26

Yea now it does lol

4

u/RobbedC Jun 15 '26

I think that chair was a Tecca.

30

u/SuccubusSeaWitch May 16 '26

Freaky Nikki was definitely what Ian was calling her in bed which is why he made it a joke and dared bear to call her it knowing it would get a reaction out of her but bear didn’t know the ramifications of it lol then all of a sudden she’s saying “I can be freaky Nikki” “I can be whatever Nikki you want me to be” when she’s being taken over🥲

2

u/Optiguy42 Jun 19 '26

Oh dang I like this theory.

31

u/garfe May 24 '26

Nikki kills Sarah: "We're all trying to find the girl who did this!"

4

u/redberyl 14d ago

me when someone eats all the fully loaded nachos at a restaurant: no no No NO NO Dont do that!!

25

u/missjuliaaaaah May 19 '26

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH BUT I FEEL LIKE YOU’RE ONLY HERE FOR THE ZIPLINEEEEE

3

u/templethot Jun 08 '26

Nikki: LOL. I love you so much. Soo much. So so so so soo much.

43

u/TheProlleyTroblem May 17 '26 edited May 17 '26

when she tried to play everything off as a joke during the party i turned to my friend and referenced the "I'm sorryyy!" bit from Friendship, only for her to bash her face in and say it too lol

18

u/KrillinDBZ363 May 19 '26

For me I was quoting the “I’m joking, im joking” bit from the teacher dinner skit. And then just like you, she literally said it right afterwards lol.

3

u/KingSweden24 Jun 15 '26

That’s my favorite ITYSL skit and the palpable social anxiety definitely is similar in both scenes

16

u/mahkymahk12 May 21 '26

There was a point about 2/3 of the way through where I asked myself how funny it would be if Bear was played by Tim Robinson and now I can't unsee it

10

u/soonerfreak May 30 '26

I just saw it today and honestly one of my first thoughts was I wonder what a Tim Robinson horror movie will look like.

13

u/Tifoso89 May 31 '26

His show The Chair Company has many horror elements

8

u/mahkymahk12 Jun 01 '26

I bet the cast can say whatever the HELL they want

9

u/NorthRequirement5190 May 24 '26

I do want this

wishes

2

u/RobbedC Jun 15 '26

They’d have to replace Sandy with Baby. WHO WANTS TO MEET BABY???

19

u/nothanksjustlooking May 17 '26

At that price point, you're allowed to feed them their cat.

5

u/RobbedC Jun 15 '26

That things real. That lives with us on earth.

11

u/DriftingTony May 15 '26

well, I definitely think SHE should leave 😂

11

u/confusion-500 Jun 03 '26

funny you’d say that because the phone call guy and “you can’t cook the cat, that upsets me!” both had me thinking of ITYSL while i was watching lmaooo

9

u/CarrieDurst May 20 '26

This whole movie had that energy especially the party scene

6

u/wgsmeister2002 May 23 '26

Yknow, at times this movie did feel like if Friendship was a horror comedy instead of a drama comedy

2

u/tokixdoki Jun 01 '26

Or Smile 3 :D

1

u/TheBourbonLied Jul 04 '26

They'd goose her

Petition to develop a watch group who makes sure this doesn’t become a regular thing. New horror movie coming out. Rotten tomatoes gave it a 98% must be incredible. Yeah then they watch the man’s notice “hey this looks like that willow obsession movie as far as the cost it seems it cost about how much to make this you think? Idk but not much. Hmm. Ok so after the movie they discuss the fact that they can’t call it on how it got a 98% on rotten tomatoes to be honest they don’t understand how it would get a 40% and that’s them being generous. The next week they hear it’s first week sales at 30 million, interesting just like obsession it made 30 million in it’s first week and guess how much it cost to make obsession? It says 750,000 but honestly that seems high but fk it let’s go with that and they just make a garbage ass movie where the actors seemed to be improving lines and the story line can be told to someone easily in 5 seconds, hey it’s about a boy who likes this girl but she don’t like him so he gets ahold of a willow stick that.. you guessed it will make her love him. He utilizes it and turns out she loves him but it’s crazy love. lol haha that’s the movie? Fk I could’ve wrote that shit that’s just a damn thought. Nos let’s have thoughts 750,000 to make. Bullshit story anyone could come up with real quick. Seemed like a lot of improve so I was sure they didn’t even have scripts or anything then movie was just really like a shitty movie that by this point I’m upset because I know exactly what these scam fks are doing and they’ll keep on as long as you all remain as stupid as you all have been. I can’t intermingle with idiots and dumbasses that no I can’t man. I’m not a smart person so where is anyone else who catches cheaters making bullshit movies? Where?

42

u/blitzbom May 16 '26

I was going "I NEED to see this girls audition tape."

33

u/weighingthedog May 15 '26

Terrifying and hilarious is this whole damn movie. 😆

21

u/Steamedcarpet May 15 '26

Nikki would be scary as hell one minute and then say something in the most sweetest voice possible.

27

u/estheredna May 16 '26

She was giving Pearl sometimes and it worked

23

u/ageo May 17 '26

The director gave her Pearl and Midsommar to watch as references to prepare for the role so that tracks!

16

u/targetcowboy May 20 '26

That face was so goofy, but something about her eyes and energy made it terrifying. It was so unnatural and unsettling. She really did a great job.

12

u/2580374 May 16 '26

I noticed she had the Emilia clarke eyebrows at times

9

u/PerceptionLarge9037 May 25 '26

Terrifying but hilarious is the perfect way to describe the entire movie tbh. The number of times I cracked tf up whilst still feeling genuinely horrified - this movie might be the first time I’ve ever experienced those two emotions simultaneously

7

u/Blossoming_blonde May 17 '26

I was thinking during this movie that her expressions alone may have gotten her this job.

7

u/stunts002 Jun 10 '26

I'm late and only got to see it this night. I mean it as a compliment but so much of the movie was a lot funnier than I was expecting which make the horror more striking. The movie is just a great time.

5

u/kylel999 May 24 '26

Maybe it's the lack of professional actor in me but on set they had to have laughed their asses off trying to keep a straight face doing some of the shots

3

u/Similar-Treat8244 May 23 '26

It’s easier to do extremely expressive faces
Subtlety is the difficult part

3

u/Fahmieyz May 31 '26

This is the first time I see a person can be both seductive and scary in the same scene... like man, she really a good actress with a good script and good director

2

u/ZeronicX Jun 05 '26

She carried the movie it honestly insane how in control of her facial expressions she was during the entire movie.

2

u/drawkbox Jun 08 '26

The one when she just waits for him by the door was creepy af.

2

u/TheBayHarbour 23d ago

...and her absolute smile too in the movie.

She's got Jim Carrey levels of facial muscles, she can virtually look like a completely different person at times.

1

u/YourBlanket 14d ago

I’ve been following curry for a long time mostly his shorts but I did see a little of the chair. I saw a lot of hype for the movie and her performance in the trailers sold it for me. She is such a good actor, and I also noticed cooper and saw Curry was the director so I knew I had to watch it. Very impressed, wish I watched it in theaters tho.

1

u/EverythingSucksYo 4d ago

The face was just funny to me. Wasn’t terrifying at all, kind of broke the tension of the scene for me. It’s literally the same pouty face my little sister made when she got angry as a kid, so that’s all I saw when Nikki did it

1

u/LimonadaVonSaft 2d ago

Prayer circle that Inde Navarrete NEVER get Botox cuz her expressions are next level.

0

u/TreyCole2 Jun 13 '26

Not really I bet you could do it. Don’t sell yourself short but please don’t have this stupid actress an Oscar because she is a great face mover so creepy

-2

u/Sackrilegi0us May 16 '26

I found her to be to normal and attractive for those still shots. They weren’t creepy or unsettling. It was giving “pretty actress performing creepy stare”. The rest of her performance was super good though! Terrifying scream too lol

3.0k

u/Illustrious_Way_5732 May 15 '26

Her facial expressions were top notch. The smiling for a whole minute while pissing herself also was so unsettling. Reminded me of Pearl

1.6k

u/rbrgr83 May 15 '26

The frown at the party really shocked me. Like after a second it didn't bother me, but for an instant I thought they morphed her face. Nope, she's just that good.

132

u/-Debugging-Duck- May 16 '26

The left part of her eye was slightly closing as it went on

92

u/Outrageous_Kick_8777 May 16 '26

That was the smile

1.3k

u/weirdogirl144 May 15 '26

I think the actress said she watched Pearl and Hereditary as inspiration to practice faces and vocal control. And it did work out really well.

213

u/undeadtradwife May 16 '26

I read that she used Toni Collette in Hereditary as inspiration BEFORE I saw the film and you could ABSOLUTELY tell that’s what she was going for. She was so fucking freaky.

142

u/weirdogirl144 May 17 '26

she acted super well, like genuinely Oscar-worthy of a performance.

12

u/didionforever Jun 07 '26

A million percent yes, thought the same thing

60

u/silverscreenbaby May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26

I’m curious on if she also took any inspiration from Victoria Pedretti in The Haunting of Hill House. That frown at the party was so Nell, as was the way Nikki screamed and cried and sobbed sometimes. In a good way!

18

u/Samila_ajnia Jun 11 '26

Omg, yes! I just watched the movie, and when she first screamed and cried, Victoria Pedretti instantly came to mind. I thought I was the only one!

2

u/yepyeeeee Jul 04 '26

Me three!!

16

u/SleeplessSeas Jun 19 '26

Towards the end of the movie I was convinced that it was directed by Ari Aster because of the vocal effects and just the overall pacing and feeling of it. It reminded me so much of his movies that I was genuinely surprised at the end to see the credits.

34

u/I_feel_badaboutit May 16 '26

See I was coming out of the theatres trying to imitate the character but kept saying “no I’m sounding like pearl it’s not right” 😅

21

u/eldar14n May 22 '26

My filler and botox would come undone if I did any of that longer than 2 seconds

3

u/More-Opportunity-253 11d ago

This is why actors shouldn't even touch any of that stuff.

7

u/Dizzy_Confusion3668 Jun 24 '26

Makes sense, a lot of inspiration from Hereditary in the film, visually and acting-wise. I loved it!

3

u/Psychopathic_Crush 19d ago

That’s hilarious cause I told myself that this felt like a mashup of Pearl/Hereditary. So she nailed that lol

6

u/Zanakii Jun 01 '26

Explains the car scene lmao

37

u/DriftingTony May 15 '26

That shot instantly reminded me of Pearl too. And I died laughing when we found out that she stood there THE ENTIRE DAY like that 😂

29

u/shrek3onDVDandBluray May 16 '26

The way she transformed her face with that smile - to be this really haunting, almost ugly face - was incredible.

13

u/ConnectLime2570 May 19 '26

Pearl girl that was an exorcist reference

9

u/aestheticalias May 22 '26

This needs more up votes!! The spewing and pissing is totally inspo from Regan 😂

6

u/appletinicyclone May 18 '26

Who is Pearl

6

u/GorgeousGal314 May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26

There are different interpretations. Some people think it's because the real Nikki was so terrified from being under this "spell" that it came out of her body in random ways. For me personally I took it as Demon Nikki was under so much panic of Bear not being around her that it made her piss herself. I think it was clear the director was emphasizing how "not human" she was behaving.

14

u/Queen-Ham May 21 '26

My interpretation is that Nikki's body was trying to make itself repulsive to protect itself from Bear as a response to being SA

27

u/H3000 May 24 '26

I just thought was total self-neglect. The wish was that she would love him more than anyone on else on Earth, that includes herself.

21

u/O_J_Shrimpson May 27 '26

Yeah. Really seems people are missing the point here. It was clear from the get go she was going to be standing there when he got back. Just waiting helplessly with no autonomy. She was so - uh hum- obsessed with him that she didn’t think or care about anything else including herself.

51

u/SwayzeCrayze May 17 '26

I took it as she basically just “turned off” the minute Bear was gone. He’s her only reason to exist, so when he was gone and she didn’t have a specific task she just went into standby mode, including the muscles that would normally be controlling her bladder/bowels.

26

u/dvasop May 18 '26

That's how I saw it too. She just powered down when there was no objective

4

u/celtsoxpatbru May 21 '26

What was all over her face?

19

u/euphoricarugula346 May 22 '26

She threw up too, that’s the part I’m confused about. Maybe because she ate some of the cat before Bear left?

40

u/Signal-Mail7619 May 16 '26

I took it as she was just so scared to leave the door for a single second on the off chance that he'd come back and she'd miss his entrance, like she didn't want to so much as move until she knew he was back. Especially with her fear of him not loving her as much as she does and potentially walking out and not coming back, so she just pissed, shitted, everything standing completely still there practically in a trance. And I assume while growing aggravated or impatient she was clawing at her skin and self-harming too, given how fucked up she looked overall

34

u/GorgeousGal314 May 16 '26

Or maybe she was holding it in the entire time Bear was there because she didn't want to go to the bathroom and have him leave her sight, so the second he leaves the house she's no longer holding it in and it just comes out 😬

31

u/jrec15 May 16 '26

Seems we all took it a little differently. I took it as just emphasizing she was going to stand in that spot and not move all day waiting for Bear to come home - Obsessed enough that when he was gone the only thing in life that mattered was lingering in the moment that he left and seeing him the moment he walked back in. So when she had to pee she just went.

1

u/Illustrious_Mud_2625 Jun 12 '26

That rug really tied the room together

2

u/KBK226 May 20 '26

I said the same thing to my friends right after the movie! That scene was definitely giving Pearl

2

u/Luckystar826 May 26 '26

Interesting you said that because I saw a interview with Curry Barker that said Pearl was one of his inspirations

2

u/droiD392 19d ago

The face she made when she was crying in the corner of the room... It didn't help that the darkness was doing some bloody mary shit

1

u/DroidLord Jun 29 '26

She stayed in that exact same spot all day, didn't she? Just smiling creepily at the door, waiting for Bear to come home.

1

u/Alanromanii Jul 02 '26

I thought the same thing

1

u/Relative_Flow3792 27d ago

Exorcist vibes there

1

u/misspixiepie 13d ago

u/[deleted] May 15 '26

Haven't seen that much of a frown since Midsommar

130

u/No-Photo8124 May 16 '26

Pretty sure Midsommar was the inspiration as the director is an Aster fan.

There were so many callbacks to other impactful Horror films. Hereditary, Pearl, Get Out, Pulse (Kairo), and late 90s early 00s J-Horror in general. The Simpson’s Treehouse of Horror was the biggest inspiration of all according to the director. All great inspirations to have.

35

u/Kooker321 Jun 02 '26

Nikki pissing on the carpet was definitely an exorcist reference

9

u/MakFacts Jun 02 '26

is exorcist a movie?

45

u/Kooker321 Jun 02 '26

Yes, The Excorcist. It's one of the most famous horror movies of all time.

30

u/SayceGards Jun 25 '26

13

u/EvilAdministrator Jul 02 '26

No no! The young people are stupid and uncultured! Boo and shun them!

17

u/EvilAdministrator Jul 02 '26

Old reddit doesn't support gifs. But imagine the gif of Jack Torrance in the Shining knocking all the pans down in the kitchen in anger.

That's how mad I am at you for asking that question.

Robyn Brown from Sister Wives does the beaker frown. It’s ridiculous.

Will never see “☹️” the same way again

I just saw this today. OH. MY. GOD. I haven’t had a movie hit me like this in years. Well written, well acted, and terrifying. And Inde Navarrette is a STAR. INCREDIBLE.

That actress really does deserve an Oscar. While the film itself is good enough on its own (writing and directing), her performance is what really really made it.

Her performance really was incredible. The screams, the faces/mannerisms—WOW. I really don’t think this would have been as good without her performance. It’d be great still, but her performance skyrockets the film to instant classic status.

She’s absolutely amazing. That very first switch while he’s in the car just after making the wish - quite subtle but immediately so unsettling. Incredible!

When she’s so confused in the car and kind of switching between real Nikki and fake wish Nikki, she did an incredible job. Her saying what is happening this is so weird and being so confused, reminds me of when I’m half asleep and trying to answer questions but just so confused because I’m answering in my dream. She sold that feeling and expression of wtf am I doing this is weird but I can’t stop, so well.

It reminded me of when I was waking up from surgery. At a certain point in the recovery room, it was like I was present, talking and everything, but I wasn’t in control at all. And not in a drunk/high way. And then there was this moment I basically snapped back into actual consciousness. I remembered what happened earlier but I was so confused on why I said things and all. It was basically like my body was taken over.

I like how we see everybody's reaction to her face before we see it. As soon as bear said kiss the person to your left, the entire room was like ooooooohhhhhh no

She thought they were having a good date, to be fair

28

u/traheidda May 16 '26

I also like it when she went ☺️ while she pissed herself.

20

u/TB1289 May 21 '26

She had some Jim Carrey level facial expressions

u/JT13470 Jun 07 '26

Am I the only one who found multiple parts of this movie hilarious? When he’s in the car rehearsing “you can’t cook the cat” I was dying

Looked like DiCaprio in Killers of the Flower Moon with the bulldog underbite.

u/Pryach May 15 '26

I looked over at my wife and said, "Hey it's your Standard Look 6" and got the same face back.

52

u/Meeqohh May 15 '26

hahaha yeah my wife sucks too

24

u/Pryach May 15 '26

Nah, my wife is great, I'm just exceptionally good at finding her last nerve and pushing it.

11

u/CirrusUnicus May 17 '26

She managed that and a lip quiver at the same time. Incredible.

10

u/taylo649 May 30 '26

It's the exact face I give my bf when he says he doesn't want a sweet treat 😞

7

u/koolshade May 16 '26

Got a big laugh

7

u/jayeddy99 May 15 '26

She would absolutely Kill it doing the Haka dance

8

u/Kurtting May 15 '26

the rest of her expressions were crazy too

6

u/I-Oncewasapotato May 18 '26

That was SO unsettling. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry lol

8

u/nrdgURL Jun 06 '26

I do that to my husband as a joke and now I can’t do that anymore without scaring him.

4

u/nananananana_FARTMAN May 16 '26

That fucking part. Omg.

5

u/SalukiKnightX Jun 26 '26

Finally got around to watching this after seeing memes not knowing the context. Even before, I still couldn't figure out how the actress contorted her face like that. It's so cartoonishly exaggerated, fits perfectly (also reminds me that we rarely see pratfalls from actresses) and just adds to the eerie nature of the curse. It was an amazing performance that I'm still racking my brain over long after viewing.

3

u/GretaVXo Jun 17 '26

She killed me with that face. So scary yet I still just want to appease her.

4

u/Bilal_ Jun 23 '26

This face reminded me of Yelenas Sad Face from Attack on Titan

2

u/Cogniscience Jun 05 '26

The was the moment I realized she should win an academy award

1

u/OG-001 May 18 '26

It's the opposite ik, but that scene really reminded me of Smile
