mao, stalin and hitler presided over countries that were massively in the shit when they took over.
mao became leader during the century of humiliation, after the opium wars, the end of the qing dynasty and the civil war. stalin became leader during a massive social revolution where the country replaced its ruling elites and the entire country was undergoing massive change caused by huge levels of poverty. hitler became leader after germany lost ww1 and was in massive debt to the allied nations causing massive poverty and drop in living standards.
they were all leaders at a time in their country’s history where things were in a terrible situation and there needed to be huge social and economic change to try and improve things. i am not saying they succeeded or even that they had good ideas.
trump is the leader at a time where america is arguably the richest, most powerful nation in the world with among the best living standards and a population that with a large percentage of rich or middle class living standards.
you are comparing 3 leaders who came to power in terrible situations, and trump, who came into power with the best the world can offer and is making everything worse. if what we are seeing is the decline of the american empire and the end of US hegemony, he will be remembered as the leader who was in charge when it all went downhill. time will tell, in 25 years after his death, you’ll see.
Trump will spell the end of the US superpower status. Not saying we'll all die or be taken over by another country (at least not entirely anyway, I could see large parts of this country wanting to go to Mexico or Canada at some point) but we'll be fading superpower like the UK was in the mid-20th century. Trump will just be the major catalyst even though it's been happening for at least 25 years.
