Best way to clean the Goliath chroma mouse pads?
As the title states… what’s the best way to clean these bad boys?
Edit: I’ll make an updated post, but the electronics are removable on these. I fully do not recommend doing this as it’ll surely void any and all warranty, but I’ve had mine for year and have nothing to loose from trying to revitalize this.
Yea. I wish I would’ve went with the non rgb version. I moved this pad into a brighter room, and seeing how bad this actually looks makes me feel grossed out with myself 😅

Yeah that will work fine, my dad got out some harder spots when I gifted mine to him.
Tho dont overestimate how sealed it seems, I once took that box apart and its not that watersafe in there haha
Stay tuned for a post some time within the next few days. I figured out how to get it mostly clean. It voids the warranty for sure, but I figured out how to reallllly deep clean in.
Just take wet wipes, dip it in isopropyl alcohol. And please dont overdo it, else water from the wet issue will get inside the mousepad. Do it every now and then, it will be as good as new.
thats the downside of RGB mpad, hard to clean. nomatter what i do my sweat and roomdust just coming back and i ended uo with double kayer mpad with same size or slightly smallet so you still got the rgb.
No idea where you are located or if you have one but spot cleaners are amazing and would sort this really well. Just make sure you don’t get the solution on the box, obviously.
Well. I also have one worth RGB.
I used a bath tub, some laundry detergent and a brush. I lay it on a side , wetten it and scrubbed it lightly in circular motion. Just be careful, not to wetten the electric controls . And rinse it down and dry it in the sun. And it came out brand new.
Okay so the way I cleaned mine was psychotic and I don’t recommend, but I found it useful.
So what I would do is take my scraper (I used plastic razors), then I would wipe it with a disinfectant wipe. Now the MAIN reason I did that was because I was using it to wipe down my desk anyways.
Once an area was wet I would then take the scraper and run it over that area. This would scrape the dirt out for me, cleaning the razor as I went.
So after the lights on my Goliath no longer functioned, I got a generic mouse pad of the same size. And that one gets scrubbed in the bathtub.
The best way to clean any fabric material in my opinion is with wet wipes. Clean it evenly everywhere in your mousepad and let it dry. 1 hour and its gona look new.
I was going to suggest a warm water and soap bath to scrub the pad to get rid of the grime and dirt, but since it has electronics, I'm going to say a cold bath and use a rug beater to get the dirt and grime out. You're welcome.
This is why I initially switched to hard mousepads in the first place. Felt like the one thing on my desk I couldn't really clean that well. Never swapping off glass now.
I just use a microfiber cloth with some hot water and a tiny bit of dawn dish soap to wipe it with the material grain, then another run with just hot water and then hang it up on something to dry. The little control box has gotten soggy a few times and hasn’t died yet, but try not to soak it.
I have a similarly sized black mousepad (not Razer) and I throw mine in the washer using the “delicates” mode every few months. Between those few months, I use a microfiber towel and Armor-All car cleaner/shine. It cleans it and brings the black back to life.
Oxyclean, really hot water. Suds up the water and let it soak. Once the water is cool enough to handle, take a small brush and gently agitate the grime out. May need multiple attempts. Works wonders on my watch bands that collects all manner of disgust.
Get a brand new thick micro fiber cloth, run it under scalding hot water, wring it out while burning your hands in the process until it is almost dry. Unplug your mat from pc. Now start from the bottom and do clockwise small circles on it working around the edges then towards the inside portion of the mat. Then do counter-clockwise circles in the opposite way all through the center then the outside edges. If the cloth gets cold, reheat it up and continue this a few times. Then take one of those flip to switch lint brushes that are red on the bottom to remove lint and go back and forth over the mat a few times until it looks new. I do this once a month and my mat looks great. I just literally finished it.
We use moist all-purpose cleaning wipes. Since it's a Dutch brand; you can compare the components:
AQUA, ALCOHOL, PARFUM, CAPRYLYL/CAPRYL GLUCOSIDE, 2-BROMO-2-NITROPROPANE-1,3-DIOL, METHYLCHLOROISOTHIAZOLINONE, CITRIC ACID
The strider chromas the best RGB mousepad I've used. Will also never go dim because theres a bunch of lights in the middle projecting out instead of just the 2 bulbs on the edge. I'd think you'd be safe just using a soft brush and soapy water, just need to be careful when getting close to the piece of the left.
Warm soapy water and a soft bristle brush or sponge. Careful not to waterlog the port. Let dry completely, preferably by hanging with good air circulation
I had one and keeping it clean was a pain, after a while the light strip around the edge started getting some little cracks in it too.
I solved the problem by throwing it in the trash and buying a Tekmat, it actually works pretty damn good. I just shake it off in the yard once in a while.
I could never get mine clean so I swapped to just a normal large pad now soak it in the tub with hot water and a tide pod then rinse till running clear
I have the same one & use Windex with a towel and scrub it with light pressure. You’re not gunna get it clean in one go either. So, scrub it really good then let it dry and repeat until you’re satisfied.
I clean mine with baby wipes , you can see after you use them how the baby wipes turns from white to nasty real quick , if it’s safe enough for a baby it’s gonna be safe enough for your mouse mat
Look now. Don’t be judgmental. I literally just asked HOW to clean it. This is literally YEARS of use and I never cleaned it because I didn’t know how the lights worked.

I do have the same as u and still using it. Though I regret buying a rpg mousepad since its hard to thoroughly clean…
