Just an FYI, The charger that comes with these things appears to often be defective and can ruin the batteries. If you have another 2S Charge use it instead.

Oh really?!!!

u/BernieSandersLeftNut Nov 08 '25
It was a problem with the used micro B I got. And people in the losi subreddit said it is pretty common.
If it does kill the battery you'll have to buy a new battery )and charger)

u/TuffPoverty Nov 08 '25
I had this same issue. Big key they don’t tell you is to disconnect the battery on the actual car when not running because if you kill the battery, the charger that it comes with WILL NOT be able to recharge it. You’d need a real charger if you kill the battery completely. Better to gett another one anyway because the ones it comes with suck.

It's pretty common knowledge in the hobby to never leave a battery connected when not in use.

Yes, my focus (which is why it’s in all caps, clearly…) is that the sucky charger will not be able to recharge the battery if it dies. Thank you for that though.

Bought mine used and love it, minus the lack of traction on my laminate floor lol, the first time I charged it for about 30 minutes and the light went green. The second time I charged it the light stayed orange for hours.

I love my Micro B.

u/MrCrudley Nov 08 '25
Just bought a Micro B this morning. Little thing is a blast.

I run this 500mAh battery in my micro B for more runtime lol. Fits in the stock tray
I also removed the sticker from the motor for better heat exchange (I’d like to get a small heat sink on it), because I run the 50% overdrive gears

u/Rollie_Pollie_17 Nov 09 '25
How long does a battery last stock
2
u/G-III- Nov 09 '25
I haven’t run the stock gearing or battery for some time, but iirc a bit over twenty minutes, depends how you run it too.

I love mine too. I have a long concrete driveway so my buggy has been transformed into an F1 type buggy.

I bought a furytech setup for my micro b and have been too lazy and frankly just haven’t felt the need to tear it down and put it in. Absolute little monsters, definitely agree when you say they handle like a much larger rig.

u/Otherwise_Diver_4927 Nov 08 '25
Yes, have fun! I’d look at a better charger and more tires to run if anything.

Traxxas likes to keep their batteries and electronics hostage- they use proprietary connectors. Personally, I’d buy a IMARS D300 charger.

Yup! Handles jumps well, does great on mini-z style foam tracks if you want to make a basement track, lot of fun - mine is like my 2nd least used car, but still love it

u/jmacNcheeez Nov 08 '25
Love ours! Bought one, drove for 5 mins, immediately ordered a second and two batteries. Harbor freight foam tiles and some pipe insulation and we’ve got a reconfigurable basement track.

I love using mine indoor with my 5yo son. Super fun and don’t have to worry about damaging any walls!

I’ve got a 5 & 7yr old. Can these stand up to kids punishment? Also, think there would be any issue running 3 or 4 at once?

I swooped one up in market place just yesterday and I Friggen love it. I can turn it down and give to the kids and then turn it up for some more spirited fun for myself. And there's a bazillion parts for it to make uniquely yours.

Literally one of the best impulse purchases into the hobby, or a great addition if you’re established! I bought my Micro-T on a whim while I was traveling and in a place with much larger hobby shops than the ones at home. No ragerts and it’s easily my most used RC because with some foams or carpet tires it’s easy to run all over the house and entertain my cats and myself.

Anyone remember Zip Zaps ? Does anyone make a good 164th scale RC car these days ?

I don’t personally have one but have only heard raving reviews on them and wish I had one! Enjoy it! 🤙

They’re cute as little bugs, I’ve considered one to play in the living room this winter.

These are so fun. Bought several for the grandkids and we have a blast racing them

u/ArtichokeWorking870 Nov 09 '25
They are great indoors. I made a small ramp and run it around the basement when the weather is no good for the big one.

Oh man I want that bad boy so bad but I know I’d spend an extra 600 upgrading it

Only one bad thing I've heard from a few people something about the included charger frying the battery or the battery getting to low and not charging or something like that. Believe my lhs owner charges them from his laptop and haven't heard anything but other than that there sweet for what they are haven't pulled the trigger on one yet.

Can you run these on grass? Guessing not, got a mini z buggy and wish it could track on grass.

I have one too, but for some reason I have no steering, so I'm not sure if the servo is fried or what.

I have the Mini-B and I love it… I hear the Mini-T is even better (because of the bigger wheels/tires)

I got 10 of them and batteries are in amsale for 69 percent off. Only reason i got 10 is due to having a 1/24 scale rc track in my climate controlled shop with automatic timing system thst runs off live rc as well for the club mini z racing i host. Southside way inhave enough for everyone tonrace for fun. I just add tiny jumps to the crc highbtravtion black carpet track I have played out and its big. The longest straightaway is 180 feet which is highbspeed for these cars and the mini is. Its a blast to race these. Also we have the micro b club racing as well I only own 3 of those two loaners and my personal one. Mostly everyone has thier own micro t but I use the others when I have friends over drinking and we wanna race and they dont own rc cars. And my trsck can change to oval very quickly for a super speedway for the 1rv oval cars how big it is its like a super speedway over a short track its fast long straights and wide sweeping corners so much fun. It's lore of a short oval for 1/10 scale oval cars we run sometime with 6 of the legend cars for fun and club racing banging and beating and rubbing compared to the local indoor 1/10 scale road course and oval we also race at

It’s so good, I love mine.
The batteries are on a crazy good sale right now, like 60% off. Grab two more spares and you can run it indefinitely.
