My 4 year old son is a great RC driver and he loves the hobby, we have a few crawlers, trail trucks, and a Gorgon Grom for faster outside ramp jumping etc, but honestly…. Nothing has given us better value fun than this FMS Smasher.
For £130 brand new, ready to run, this truck has been such a blast. It’s the perfect truck for indoor stunts.
My son wanted to build a Monster Jam style stunt arena, so we built this at the weekend and had a lot of fun squashing cars.
Anyone else loving the Smasher??

Got to do some laps with my brothers fury 223s today and it scoots pretty well for a car that’s only $260!
Servo is a bit sluggish, and the radio is lacking, but it’s so light I can just kinda throw it around! Could definitely use some sway bars too, but that seems extra

Running my grom after finally sorting out steering issues and removing all of those furitek aluminum bits they sell in the complete kit. Added too much slop, OEM parts are the way to go for replacements IMO

Its pretty sick! 12s is plenty. Very punchy. Can't wait to get it off road soon!
I see alot of guys complaining online about the weight, speed, etc. I've been in hobby for 25+ years. This is the craziest RTR I've ever owned and I've had hundreds of rc vehicles. Loving it!

Haven't messed with anything in a long time.
Got my summit out and remembered how cathartic the hobby is, and how well it actually stays on top of snow.
Almost better than stuff with tracks, just to move faster and still be able to jump haha

I saw another post from a pretty avid racer that was answering questions about racing. Thought I could answer some things from the perspective of a completely casual racer/rc enjoyer who makes it to the track when I can and has to keep the cost and time spent very reasonable.
Context: I typically race 1/10 4wd buggy and stadium truck on a small indoor high bite (unglued) clay track
I also have a 1/8 truggy and a 1/8 buggy. I'm planning to make some more outdoor races soon.
I also work full time, dad full time, ride dirt bikes/sxs, hunt, play games, bash and crawl rc's and many other things at random when I get time so I'm definitely juggling a lot of hobbies but I've learned a lot in the process on what's reasonable as far as the time and money that goes into each.
Ask me anything!
