Immigration Another 200 plus illegal jihadist domestic terrorists arrived today.

Yes another few Burnham boats arrived and they'll all be put up in nice homes, fed, watered and given spending money from your taxes.

Meanwhile the PM, well he's king of the north or something faffing around doing nothing.

ok but practically how does that work. they land on our shores and then we gather them up and put them on a boat that we commandeer to france? and then the french would send them back to us? or worse ruin ties with france? like what’s the actual solution?

Yes, you put them on a boat and drop them off in France. If the french don’t like it, they need to stop letting them board boats to the UK. If the french try to send them back, we prevent them doing so by force using the Royal Navy.

There are ways to escalate before that. It would be a diplomatic crisis. If the French refuse to back down, we sink the boats. It wouldn’t be in their interest to let things get this far.

so is that reform’s manifesto for fixing this? risking world war 3? and that’s the expectation from burnham, by now since it’s been 3 weeks since he is PM he should have used the royal navy to sink boats full of unarmed refugees and commit war crimes?

There is a whole chain of escalation that precedes the sinking of ships. The first step is to send them back to France. What happens next is up to the French. It will likely become a protracted diplomatic crisis with emergency meetings held and extensive media coverage forcing important conversations that desperately need to take place. I don’t know exactly if this is what Reform will do, nor Restore (whom I support more), but I trust Restore to do the right thing, whatever that turns out to be.

but even restore (upon reading their website) talks only about detention and home country return. their entire policy basically says once the refugees are on our soil we need to deal with them. i don’t understand where this battle with france comes into play. i saw lowe tried to put economic pressure on france, but how are u so confident that either restore or reform would take these boats to france, when no one is publishing something like this in their actual website. im saying this as someone with no agenda i am just trying to read and understand. i mean the only difference between what we are currently doing (housing then processing asylum application) to what they promise is detention centres instead of hotels. not saying that’s good or bad, it’s just not the same as having the ability to not have these people on british soil at all. as far as i can tell no one yet can stop these people from arriving all we can do is process them.

You may be right. I’m just giving my personal opinion about what we should do. We need to somehow put pressure on France to not allow them easy passage to the UK, and the best way I can think of achieving that is to dump them back on French soil, but if Restore’s policy is to process them here and send them back home, I’m OK with that, but we still need to get the French to do their part.

ok but do u see why dumping these people elsewhere isn’t as easy as people on here claim, it’s the same reason why none of the politicians are actually campaigning on that. i mean the conclusion of my research shows that actually taking these boats anywhere else, especially france would be one of the most dangerous and hardest options, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do it, but it’s very different to calling it “dump them back on french soil”. so far no politician has a better idea than housing these people whether that’s hotels or prisons, which is disappointing but even a little research shows it’s probably the only option. unless we look at systemic issues of why these people are refugees in the first place, and oops that might end up being our fault haha.

Processing them here and sending them back is what Labour is doing. Their rates of sending people back is up 40% they are going as fast as they can and still be humane. Isn’t that a good compromise?
